CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

1191 Words
The three men met at Manda Hills Mall. All of them breathing so heavily, like they just rounded all earth. “My alpha, did you find the kid?” Alinani asked. “Yeah, he is standing beside me,” Charles said. Alinani and Mulenga stared at each other, “of course I didn’t find him, you idiot.” “So what is our next move?” Mulenga asked. “I don’t know,” Charles said. They stayed in silence for a couple of minutes then, “I think we should just go to Siobhan,” Charles oozed. “Damn. That man freaks me out, especially that demon dragon,” Mulenga said. And Alinani nodded in support. “Cowards. Shall we just go?” They went on the roadside. A man was coming with a track. Charles smirked at Mulenga and Alinani. They went and stood in front. The man on the track hit the brakes, the car stopped, and he came out of the car retorting. “What the hell is wrong with you guys? I could have run over you. Will you get out of my way? Stupid,” the man said and started heading to his track. Charles looked at Mulenga. Then Mulenga started following the man behind. He touched the man on his shoulders and swung him behind. “What?” the man asked. “Sorry for this man,” Mulenga said. “Wh…” before he could even finish Mulenga punched the man, and he went unconscious. “Shall we?” Mulenga asked. They went and entered the track. Mulenga started the engine and they took off. “But my alpha, why didn’t we just walk from there I mean we are werewolves after all,” Alinani asked. “Because we can also get tired didn’t you see how tired we were just looking for that kid. So let’s just go. And stop questioning me.” “Sorry, my alpha.” Charles took one hell apple and eat it. Mulenga and Alinani looked at each other. “My alpha, what are those?” Mulenga asked. “Hell apples.” “Hell what?” Alinani asked. “Apple i***t. They strengthen my fire abilities. And they are not that bad,” he took another one and threw it in his mouth. “My alpha, I have a suggestion,” Alinani spoke. “What?” “I was thinking if you were to tell the kind he is your nephew and that his father has died he will get distracted and that is when we strike.” “I don’t think he will buy it.” “He will if he sees it,” Mulenga said. “What do you mean?” Charles asked. “Do you have a photo of your brother,” Mulenga asked. “Why didn’t I see this before. The kid looks exactly like my brother. So you two get me those photos,” Charles said. “But don’t tell him about the fire thing. Or we will get toasted,” Mulenga said. ********** The door opened and Trevor got alarmed. He stood up, then Sebastian and Natasha entered. “Dude,” Trevor said. They went and sat on the couch. Trevor kept on looking at them, waiting for them to say anything. But nothing came out of their mouths. Maria came from the kitchen with two cups of cappuccinos. “Brother-in-law, Natasha,” she said, sitting the cups on the table. “Hey Maria,” they both said. “Now will you spit it? What the hell is going on?” Trevor said. “I don’t even know where to begin, man,” Sebastian said. “Well, what happened to the men who were following her? Were they sent by Charles?” Trevor asked, taking a sip from his cup of cappuccino. “Yes, they,” Sebastian replied. They stayed in silence for a few seconds then, “and why are you covered in blood and those bruises from your skin.” Sebastian sighed and then told Trevor and Maria the all things, even the Robert part. “That’s bad. And poor Robert, may his soul rest in peace,” Maria said, drying her tears. “Yeah, and I was in my room hearing it all happen. I’m telling you my heart was in my stomach,” Natasha said. “Been there,” Maria said, sipping her cappuccino. “The weird thing was Robert kept on saying that I look like the late alpha,” Sebastian said. “Yeah, that’s weird,” Trevor said. “Would you like some water, coffee, or tea?” Maria asked. “Yeah, sure I will help you,” Natasha said, and stood up. “No, I will manage. After what you just went through and your condition, I’m not heartless,” Maria spoke. “I’m six months pregnant Maria I can manage,” without waiting for a reply she went to the kitchen. “So what do you think Charles is planning now?” Trevor asked. “I don’t know man. But whatever it may be can’t be good man,” Sebastian replied. “But we are still going to the party, right?” “Of course we need to get out of this life and have some fun.” ********* “You will leave me at that corner, then you two go and get those photos,” Charles said. Mulenga drove for a few miles and parked at a T junction. Charles got out of the car and the two men went the other way. Charles walked for a few more miles, then took another turn. He walked for about five to ten minutes and took another turn into the wood. He heard noise coming from the bushes; he swung around and saw the baby Costa Rican clown frog again. “I aren’t falling for this s**t again,” he said and turned around again. “Not so fast, stepfather,” a man oozed. Charles whirled around, his jaw dropped, “you?” “Yes, you thought you killed me. Stupid old man.” “Bu..bu.,” “I know it’s all complicated for your speck of dust-sized brain stepfather.” “Robert, who is this possible. You died right in front of me,” Charles said. “Yeah, I didn’t really die. But you were all stupid to believe so,” Robert said, going towards Charles. Robert’s feet still in the form of a Costa Rican clown frog. “You are looking for the Monotropa uniflora, right? Here it is.” He held his hand up, and there it was. A sparkle Silver ring around Robert’s finger. Charles started moving backward, “But how did you get that?” he asked. “A magician never reveals his secretes stepfather,” Robert said. “And that?” he gestured for Robert’s feet.
