CHAPTER FORTY-TWO

After an hour of driving, they reached Intercontinental. They entered the hall, and it was filled with people. Each wearing something that will outdo everyone present at the party. Each with his or her mask. Trevor and his clew took their masks and entered the party. “Let me show you your sits sir,” a man said. “Oh, thank you,” Trevor said. They followed him and reached a rather dashing table. With red wine and glasses. They took their sits, and the gentleman pulled the wine in everyone’s glasses. The strange thing was everything was in perfect number. The chairs, the size of the table, and the number of wine glasses. They each took their first sips and began talking about how elegant the decorations were. Then they got interrupted by the gentleman in front as he spoke. “Good evening ladies and gentlemen,” the cloud murmured, “thank you all for making it here we are really grateful. As we wait for my parents to arrive, let us all just have a blast dance and enjoy the party,” a man looked like he could be Trevor’s age spoke. “I’m gonna dance catch you later,” Emma said, and left the table. They all just laughed and carried on with their conversations. Thirty minutes later Mr. And Mrs. Sinkala arrived wearing the same colored clothes, with no masks and everyone rose up. But the men that accompanied them had masks on. Mr. And Mrs. Sinkala waved at everyone as they made their way to the top table. They looked at Trevor, giving him a signal of some sort, but he didn’t get it, he just kept on grinning at them. They sat in their reserved chairs. Then one man who accompanied them stood in front of everyone with a microphone pressed on his mouth. He gestured for everyone to sit down. “Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here to celebrate the anniversary of this lovely couple you see in front of you. Please give them a hand of applause,” they all clapped. Trevor looked at Mr. Sinkala and he was gesturing for Trevor to leave, but the man didn’t get the hint. Trevor looked at Mr. Sinkala again, eyes widened. Then he pointed at himself, then at the door. Mr. Sinkala nodded. Two men moved and stood behind Mr. And Mrs. Sinkala. “Trevor, are you ok?” Maria asked. “Yeah, but I think Mr. Sinkala wants me to go out,” he replied. “Go out?” They all asked. “Yeah, I think something is not right here,” he looked at Mr. Sinkala again. “Maybe you are just imagining things man, I think you drank a little too much,” Sebastian said. “Maybe,” was all Trevor could say and burnished the thought away. “Shall we put our hands together Mr. Sinkala has something to say,” the man said and sat down close to Mr. Sinkala’s son. “Evening everyone,” Mr. Sinkala oozed. “Evening,” everyone replied. “First of all, thank you for coming to celebrate this anniversary with us today. It’s difficult to leave in a marriage for thirty years but I had a blast with my beautiful wife sitting there,” Mrs. Sinkala blushed. Mr. Sinkala again began giving Trevor signs to exit the room as he continued pressing Mrs. Sinkala. “Did you see that?” Trevor asked, looking at everyone. “What?” they asked. “He just gave me a sign to exit this place.” “Trevor, stop been ridiculous. Sebastian, take his wine,” Maria spoke. Mr. Sinkala’s son tried to get up, but the man behind him sat him on the couch. Mrs. Sinkala took her phone from the wallet, but the man grabbed it. Mr. Sinkala carried on for almost thirty minutes some people even began dozing. Then Mr. Sinkala finished his speech with “I love you my fat Becky.” The audience clapped so loud that you could barely hear the soothing music. “Now let us party!” The man shouted, and everyone began dancing and drinking. Trevor kept on thinking about Mr. Sinkala’s signs, but Maria forcefully burnished his thoughts by asking the man for a dance. Trevor got up and they went to the dance floor. Since Natasha’s pregnancy was now enormous, Sebastian stayed back in case she needed anything. Uncle Richard excused himself and disappeared into the cloud. After thirty minutes of dancing, Trevor and Maria came back from the dance floor, but Emma remained. She was dancing with a tall, handsome light dude. “I used to be the king of dancing. What the hell happened? I’m as tired as hell,” Trevor said. He took the glass of wine and drank it. He sighed as it went down smoothly. “Because you are getting old,” Sebastian smirked. “You are the old one, not me,” Trevor argued. “Emma is totally hitting it off with that dude,” Natasha said, looking at Maria. “I know right. The young lady deserves it,” Maria replied. The servers brought them food, and they began stuffing their faces. “Er.....where is uncle?” Trevor asked, as the thought hit him. “Oh, he just said he will be back, but it’s been long ever since he left,” Sebastian said. “That is weird uncle is not a party person,” Trevor said. He took his phone and called Richard. His phone rang for a while, then he answered. “Where the hell are you, uncle?” I yelled. “I’m in the boys’ room. I will be there shortly,” he said and hung up on, without giving Trevor a chance to speak. “What did he say?” Maria asked. “He is in the boy’s room,” Trevor said and they all sighed in relief. They took their wine glasses, bet them in the air as Trevor made a toast to dads and they drank their wines. But of course, the ladies were just drinking drinks. After a few cheers, Emma came back to the table, breathing heavily. She took a glass of wine and dragged it down her throat. The wine, not the glass. “This s**t is taking too long. I’m going to look for my uncle,” Trevor said and left the table. As I was going through the cloud, a boy bumped into him. He looked like he was fifteen or less, with filthy clothes and scruffy hair. “Little guy, aren’t you too young for this party?” Trevor asked in the calmest way possible. The boy didn’t answer. “Where are your parents?” Trevor asked. “Died,” the boy spoke with a cracked voice. “Oh, my condolences. Then why are you here?” “I came to kill my parent’s killer,” the boy spoke, eyes filled with rage. “What do you mean you came to kill your parent’s killer, young boy? Don’t you know killing is a crime?” He scolded in a fatherly tone. “No one helped me when asked for it. So I don’t expect anyone to intervene in this.” “What is your parents’ killer’s name maybe I can help? I’m a lawyer,” he lied. “Siobhan.” Trevor’s jaw dropped, “si....si...Siobhan?” “Yes, sir, do you know him?” The boy asked. “Is Siobhan here?” Trevor asked, avoiding the question. “Yes. He is the one in that mask,” the boy pointed at the man sitting beside Mr. Sinkala. “Oh, God. Listen here little boy, go out of this place or you will also be dead, ok?” “Not until I do what I came here to do.” The boy went ran to the bathroom and Trevor followed him. Then the young boy’s shape-shifted into a grown man with a beard. Trevor’s eyes widened. “Who the hell are you?” Trevor asked, looking around to make sure no one saw that. “My name is Angel. And that bastard Siobhan killed my parents after they refused to perform a task of him.” “What task?” “He wanted one of them to shape-shift into someone’s uncle. His name was...” Stocking his beard. “Trevor, he wanted them to shape-shift into Trevor’s uncle,” Trevor sighed. “Wait, how do you know?” “Because I’m Trevor.” “Wait what?” “Listen, I have to go my wife and my friends are in danger. You also get out of here,” he exited the bathroom and rushed to the table. “We have to go now,” he said. “What?” they said together. “No questions asked. This was a trap come on, let us go,” he took Maria’s hand and headed to the door. Two men stood in front of them. “How can you leave before the party finishes, Trevor,” a man oozed. They swung around, “Siobhan,” they said together. “He has uncle Richard,” Emma said. “That is not uncle Richard,” Trevor spoke. “What do you mean that is not uncle Richard have you lost your eyesight?” Maria spoke, grinding her teeth. Then, before he could answer Maria’s question. The man in uncle Richard’s form shape-shifted into his original form. He was a young man, probably in his early twenties. “Oh, God,” Maria spoke. “You thought you were clever, eh? I will show you who is the real boss,” Siobhan spoke. Everyone stood up, then they dragged Trevor and his team to the center, together with ten humans. So presumably only ten were not on Siobhan’s side. One man went over and took the wand from Trevor’s pocket. “Try anything stupid, and you will all die,” Siobhan spoke. “Oh, God, what is going on? Who are these people?” an old woman spoke? “Don’t worry mom all will be well,” Maria said and hugged the old lady. Siobhan grabbed Mr. Sinkala, “where is the book?” He asked. “I told you I don’t have the book, man,” Trevor spoke. Then Siobhan gestured for Amell. He tapped on his demon dragon form. The humans gasped. The old lady almost had a heart attack. The damn demon dragon moved behind Mr. Sinkala. Mrs. Sinkala and her son got up, tears streaming down their faces. But two men sat them back down. Amell smirked, then bit Mr. Sinkala’s head off. His blood splashed everywhere. Mrs. Sinkala collapsed. “Mother!” her son shouted. “Where the freaking hell is the book?” Siobhan asked again. “For the last time I said I don’t have it ok,” Trevor shouted. “I guess you prefer the hard way then,” he raised his want, gave it a casual flick, and the spell went hitting the man standing beside Trevor. The man stated, increasing, his clothes ripped open. Then, after he increased to his maximum, he popped and blood covered all of them. “Let us end this s**t,” Sebastian said and began transforming, then Trevor held his hand. “Look around you, if we act, all of us a died,” Trevor spoke. “We will die even more if we don’t act Trevor, I rather die trying,” Emma said, and everyone nodded. “The book,” Siobhan raised his wand again. “Wait!” Trevor shouted. “Let them go and I will give you the book.” “First the book, then you all walk out of this place safe and sound,” Siobhan said. Trevor closed his eyes, then after a few minutes, a black book with stone covers appeared in his hands. “Here is the book hand them over, and you get the book,” Trevor said, determined. Siobhan gestured for the man to take Mrs. Sinkala and her son to Trevor. “These bastards surrounding us have no weapons. So immediately Mrs. Sinkala and her son reach me get ready to awaken your beast, ok?” Sebastian nodded. “Maria, Natasha, and especially you, Emma, lead everyone to safety. I and Sebastian will handle these bastards,” Trevor spoke and began walking forward. “As I said earlier, do nothing stupid, or your wife and her unborn baby will die,” Siobhan said. “You gonna pay you, bastard,” Trevor spoke, looking at the man who was imposing as uncle Richard. Trevor and the man who was taking Mrs. Sinkala and her son were five feet from each other. Sebastian began smirking excitedly, ready to kick some ass. Maria and the girls moved closer. It was just a matter of Trevor’s signal.
