The rain was pelting down in solid sheets as they drove along the narrow, winding roads between the dark, brooding hills. Daniel had never been to the Lake District before, and perhaps he would have appreciated its rugged beauty under normal circumstances, but right now he hardly noticed it. They had travelled the rest of the journey in silence. Reece had made a few more attempts at apologising, but Renton had just growled at him to shut up. Daniel kept quiet in the back. The journey took over four hours and towards the end, Daniel was acutely aware of an urgent need to pee, but he kept silent.
