New Life New Mate

Chapter Eleven

We get back to the pack, and Jake greets us.

"Luke can you get everything settled with the new members while I speak with Jake?" Luke nods and heads off and Jake looks confused at me. "Follow me I will brief you on what happened." We get to the living room, I sit down on the couch and motion for Jake to join me. "So first off, no casualties on our side, but the wolves who were rescued went through a very tough time. As you already know they were experimented on given drugs and beaten. The women they were r***d and forced into abortions if they fell pregnant." Jake's eyes are huge.  

"Did you find Maggie, my mate? What happened? Please." Jake begs me.

"Yes we did find Maggie. But Jake please stay calm. What I'm about to tell you is going to anger you just know she is safe now," Jake tenses then nods for me to continue. "Jake over this time she was r***d enforced to have two abortions. When the doctors we're checking her out after we rescued her, they did discover that she is 3 weeks pregnant."

"What! Where is she? I need to see her now!" Jake yells standing to run outta the room.

"Jake please sit, I am not done," he reluctantly sits back down. "She plans to keep this child. She told me that losing her other babies was too much to bear and she cannot lose another," I am crying, my heart breaking for Maggie. "She is scared you will reject her, now that she is not pure for you and is pregnant by another. Or that you will reject this child."

We sit silently for several minutes, Jake cries. Once he calmed down and stops crying he asks, " Can you bring her to me please, I won't reject her or her child. I am heartbroken to think she would ever think I would. Please we need to talk." I nod and leave Jake to go find Maggie. I find her among all the new members waiting for their housing assignments. Many will be bunking together as we have not had the chance to build more cottages to accommodate them all. "Maggie, Jake would like to see you. Don't worry I already talked to him. He will not reject you or your child but you two need to talk." She nods and follows me back to the pack house. When we enter Jake wipes his eyes, they are red and puffy from crying. He runs to Maggie picking her up into a hug. "I will leave you two to talk," I say about to turn around and leave.

"Wait, can you stay for a little bit please?" Maggie asks, looking nervous. I nod and we all sit down. Maggie looks at her feet like they are the most interesting thing in the world.

"Maggie, baby, Ana already told me what happened. I do have one question for you though." Maggie sniffles still looking down. Jake gets on his knees in front of her. "Maggie look at me," he places his hand on her chin forcing her to look at him. "I was planning on something different but I feel this is the best way to show you." He pulls a small box out of his pocket with a ring inside. "Maggie, baby, I loved you from the first time I laid eyes on you. I wanted to make you mine right then and there but life had other plans for us. Now you are back, I can't lose you again. I understand that after everything you may not want to mate and be marked but baby I need you. I don't care if that baby is not one I created but it is half you and I already love that child and if you will allow me I will be their father. And if you could make me the happiest man on earth and be my wife?" Maggie stares at him, shock on her face. But she stays quiet as tears begin to form. "Oh baby please don't cry, I am sorry this was too soon. I am so stupid I just thought that…" Maggie kisses him.

She pulls away, "yes, Goddess yes. Jake I was so scared you wouldn't.. that you wouldn't.." Jake kisses her now. When he pulls back he places the ring on her left hand. I sneak out smiling knowing they will be just fine.

I find Luke just as he was finishing getting all the new members settled. "Hey beautiful everything okay?"

"Perfect, Jake is getting married." I smile.

"Wow, he already proposed? I thought he was planning to wait so she could settle in." I just smile and give Luke a hug. "We need to get ready."

"For what?" I question.

"For your change and first shift, beautiful." Oh s**t I forgot with everything else going on that I told him I wanted him to change me. 

Luke takes me to the pack hospital where there is already a room waiting. "So how does this work?" I ask a little scared.

"It is like the marking but the bite is slightly different. You will get a bad headache. You will be in pain for several hours. It is dangerous, that is why we are here. When your head feels ready to split in two don't fight the pain, embrace it, that would be your wolf. Once your wolf is in your mind we will go outside and I will walk you through your first shift." 

"Um so do I lay down, or stand? Should Doc be here first? I am honestly a little scared."

"You don't have to do this, I love you whether you were human or wolf." Luke looks almost as nervous as I feel.

"I want this. Just scared. I never willingly put myself through something this dangerous."

Ty's gray eyes appear, "Love you are the strongest human I have ever seen. You defeated a full Alpha without a single scratch. You broke free of a powerful black magic spell. I have no fear you will make it. Mind, body and soul you are the strongest person I have ever met. That's my only fear is that once you have your wolf you will be stronger than I." Tys words are comforting, he believes so fully that I can do this and come out stronger than ever. I nod my head, "sit on the edge of the bed, this will hurt but love you are stronger than the pain." I do as instructed and sit down, Ty stands in front of me. "Are you ready?" I nod then tilt my head to the side giving him better access. Taking a deep breath he leans down, licking my neck, I take a deep breath then feel his canines plunge deep into the spot between my shoulder and neck. It burns at first, oh god does it burn. My skin is on fire, I want to pull away, get away from the pain but Ty holds me tight. After what feels like a millennium he retracts his teeth causing the burn to stop, but it is replaced with an unbearable cold feeling. My vision goes blurry before it goes black. I feel myself being moved to lay in bed. I can not see anything, I can not move. It feels like my nightmare and I begin to panic. I hear Luke's voice, soft and calming. I do not know what is being said but I feel safe. 

My eyes open but I am no longer in the hospital, I am in a forest. I sit up confused, this place feels familiar but yet I have never been here before. Standing I see an angel walk out from behind a tree. She is tall and slender, dressed in a flowy white dress that drags on the earth beneath her yet never getting dirty. She has waist length blonde curls. I am in awe at her beauty. "Am I dead?" I ask the angel.

She laughs, "No my child you are not dead, i am Savannah the Moon Goddess." My eyes get huge, Luke said I would be in pain, and yet no pain. He never said I would meet the Moon Goddess, and yet here she is. "You must realize you are quite special. You are strong and you shall be blessed as well. You were not born one of my children but you were chosen to be."

"Wow, Luke and Ty told me I would be in pain, and yet I have no pain. I am confused to say the least." I tell the Goddess. 

"You spirit is here with me but your body is still in pain, it is time for you to go now. Your wolf will guide you. Many things are to come, trust Luke and your wolf. Now lay down and close your eyes." I nod and do what she told me. 

I lay there with my eyes closed and I feel my head begin to throb. Soon a sharp excruciating pain jabs my forehead. My eyes shoot open. I am screaming. I can't focus on anything. The pain is too much. I hear the Goddess' voice 'I am here child's and I begin calm. The pain is still there but it is numbed. I remember Luke's words, embrace it. I force myself to breath and focus. I search my mind not knowing what I am doing. Soon I hear a faint voice.

'Ana, don't fight.' I breathe and focus on that voice. 'Ana I am here' I close my eyes focusing as hard as I can.

'what is your name?'

'my name is Rose'

'are you my wolf rose?'

'yes I am, thank you for letting me in.' Rose's voice is stronger, my pain has stopped. I am sore but not in pain anymore. 'now isn't Luke supposed to take you outside so we can work on your first shift' 

I slowly open my eyes, the smell hits me before anything else. It smells like the forest after a heavy rain, so clean, fresh, and pure.

'that's our mate' Rose tells me.

'Luke?'

'and Ty' you can just hear her smile. She is so happy thinking about them.

"Beautiful? You alright?" Luke is sitting next to the bed staring at me.

"You smell like the forest after a heavy rain." I smile at him.

"And you smell of a rose garden, you always have. Your mate has a special scent that is unique to them. You have your wolf?"

Rose purrs as I look at Luke. "Yes her name is Rose."

"Would you like to learn to shift then Ty and Rose can go for a run together.

'Please, yes please I want to see mate' Rose says excitedly.

"I think if I don't she will go crazy she is so excited to meet him." I laugh. Luke grabs my hand to help me up and sparks tingle all over. I look shocked up at Luke. "The mate bond, you feel it more intense now that you are a wolf."

"Is it always this strong?" I ask.

"Yes, every time we touch is like this. Even the day we first met. When you ran right into me, I felt the electric shocks, and every moment since." 

"Wow, I can't believe you never showed how intense this connection was." We walk outside into the forest. 

"You will want to take your clothes off," Luke smiles. I roll my eyes and begin to strip down till I am standing in the forest nude. Luke runs his hand down my chest and stomach leaving a trail of sparks. My breathing becomes heavy as my core becomes wet from the simple touch. "Next step is to focus on Rose, try to clear your mind. She knows what to do and will help you." I nod and close my eyes focusing on my wolf, Rose.

'So what next babe?'

'Simple, you let me do this. It will hurt but don't resist or it will hurt more. Over time it will hurt less.' 

I start feeling a stretching feeling, then my bones snap. I fall down from the sudden pain. I want to stop. It hurts so bad. 'Let it happen or it will hurt more we are almost done.' I try to focus on my breathing and it seems to help. It still hurts like b***h but I just breathe through the pain. 

The pain starts to subside when I hear Luke gasp. I open my eyes and look at Luke. He is staring at me with his mouth wide open. I try to look at my shelf best as one can with no mirror. I am fairly large, my head coming up to Lukes hips, although I think Ty is still slightly bigger. I am more slender than Ty for sure he is a big pure muscle wolf. Where Ty is black as night I am white as freshly fallen snow. Yin and yang total opposites but so good with each other. 

"My mate is a blessed wolf, I knew you were special but wow. The Goddess really out did herself. I don't know what I did to deserve you as my mate but I am so thankful." He begins to pet me, or rather Rose. We purr, and nuzzle our head against Luke before jumping back playfully. "Oh you want to go for a run, sorry I was a little distracted by how unique and special you are Rose."

Luke then shifts into Ty, he does it so effortlessly. 'we shall get there someday. Remember he has been a wolf his whole life and began shifting 10 years ago.'

'right this feels so weird and yet freeing like this.'

'yes it is nice to be one with the forest.'

'Ready to run,' Luke/Ty links us.

'Catch me if you can' we say back before taking off through the trees. They will catch us no problems, they are larger, stronger, and have more practice. Surprisingly though, I dodge trees jump over fallen branches and dart around like I have been doing this my whole life. Soon I find myself coming to the lake. I stopped and went to get a drink of water. I look at my reflection in the water and see my eyes for the first time, they are an icy blue in my wolf form. Very different from my natural golden brown eyes. Well I stand there mesmerised by my own reflection, all of a sudden I am tackled to the ground by my mate. He licks my face and nozzles into my neck. For such a serious man he can be such a pup. I feel at peace here.
