New Life New Mate

Chapter Thirteen

Tomorrow is now today. I officially become Luna. I am nervous. It will be the first time anyone other than Luke sees me in my wolf form. I am supposed to be some rare blessed wolf. What if everyone starts to treat me differently? Blessed sure feels more like cursed to me. Sure no one believes in prophecy but they could still see me as a sign or too special to bother. I don't want that. I just want to be a good Luna, a friend to them all. I don't want to live on a pedestal or anything. I am just Ana, not anything more.

'but you are more. You are strong, smart, wise beyond your years. Whether you are a white wolf or not people see how special you are. There is no doubt about that.' Rose has been trying to calm me down all day. It is now an hour to the ceremony and I still am having panic attacks. 

' Rose, I don't know if I believe all that but thank you. I realize that it is only two days but I feel as if you have been with me my whole life.'

' In a way I have been. Unlike most wolves I didn't mature in your body waiting 18 years to arrive, but the Goddess planned for us to be one. I watched you grow. I felt your joy, and your pain. I waited for you to make the choices that led you to Luke and thus to me. You may have been clueless to me but I knew all about you.'

I smile thinking about the bond we share. Luke comes into the room. "Beautiful you almost ready?"

"Just finishing up. What do you think?" I have a simple white wrap dress on held together with a black belt. Simple black flats and my red hair in soft curls falling down my back. My makeup is light and simple.

"You look beautiful, let's go and get this party started." I nod and he grabs my arm and leads me through the pack house and out to the yard. 

It looks beautiful, almost like a wedding venue. Chairs are lined up facing the stage. On the stage are several older men and women, they must be the elders, as well as Jaymin is waiting smiling at me. I smile back, trying to hide my fear. All around the trees are decorated with little fairy lights. Luke leads me up to the stage and I take my spot between him and Jaymin. 

One of the female elders steps forward. She has long jet black hair with one gray streak framing her slender face. She calls out for the pack to take their seats and quiet down.

"Wolves and she-wolves we gather tonight as the full moon rises to welcome your new Luna as she rises to take her place." The she-wolf elder began. "Over the last several weeks she has shown true Luna behavior by assisting your Alpha wherever needed. And even though she was not born a wolf and had no ties to any but her mate, she acted with grace and courage to protect those of us in need. If one who was not born a wolf, and was not bound to us could act in such a way before taking this oath it is no doubt she will be among the most revered Luna's of our time. Alpha Luke and Luna to be Ana please step forward." We both step up. "First Ana you must vow your allegiance to the blood moon pack before you may become Luna." I nod my head. "Your hands please," we put our right hands forward palms up as the elder takes an old knife and slices Luke's hand, then mine. I wince as the blood begins to sleep from the cut. "Please join hands," Luke grabs my hand like we are just giving a simple hand shake. As the blood mingles between our hands, I begin to feel tingly. "Ana do you vow to be loyal to the Blood moon pack, to its Alpha, and to each and every member?"

"I vow to do so," I say and I feel the strength of our members fill my body, voices ring in my head welcoming me into the pack. 

"Luna Jaymin please step forward, Alpha you may step back now." Luke steps back as Jaymin takes his spot and the elder cuts her hand then recuts mine as it had already healed, damn supernatural healing powers. We grab hands just like Luke and I did. "Luna Jaymin do you vow to give your role over to Ana?"

"I do," Jaymin says and I begin to feel the surge of power and energy around us as she smiles at me. 

"Ana do you vow to take the role as Luna, to love and cherish all your members, do you vow to protect this pack with your last breath?"

I take a deep breath, "I do so vow" suddenly the power I felt before intensifies. Cheers erupt from everyone as Jaymin bows to me. Everyone in the pack takes a knee bowing to me. I blush as all attention is on me.

"Now everyone may choose to either strip here or go to the trees and strip to shift into wolf form to go for a pack run." Luke yells out over the crowd. Luke and I duck behind a curtain and shift. We walk back out to the stage and stand waiting for everyone to finish. Gasps ring out as everyone sees me in my wolf form for the first time. Luke howls and everyone including myself join him. We take off for a run. Just like the other night I jump over downed trees and just enjoy the forest. I play chase with Luke and several other pack members. It is weird but Luke was right going for a run as a pact made us all feel closer together as a family.
