Chapter 11

1002 Words
Mia After Ryan dropped us, he went back to his house, it's been 30 minutes and since then I can't stop thinking of what he had told me. I'm currently sitting on my bed, static, while the twins already fell asleep next to me. Did I daydream? Am I being delusional?  No that can't be. I mean he's real, I'm real. So.. Why the heck does he want to be with me? I slap my face with both of my hands to get back to reality. "Let's wash up and get to sleep Mia. Yes, that is better than thinking of unnecessary things." I stand up from the bed and as I'm about to walk up to my bathroom, I see something sparkling near my bathroom door. I go and pick it up knowing what it is. It's Willow's necklace, the one Ayla has been searching for all morning today. It's a rose gold locket necklace, round in shape, the front has a north star shape and there are some letters engraved on the back of it.  WK & RZ I know WK stands for Willow's name and I guess RZ stands for someone that meant a lot to her, and my babies real dad. I remember asking Willow about the twins' dad, she automatically touched her locket and smiled as she told me about him. He was her first love and she was his. They first met when they were in middle school, but they didn't befriend each other until high school. Both were friends with each other's friends and that's how he started talking to her, then it led up to how he confessed his love to her. Romantic, that's how I feel, and I could see the love in Willow's eyes when she spoke about him. But, I can't stop thinking as to why Willow didn't tell him about the twins and also ran away. I wanted to know, but I couldn't force her to tell me and I didn't want to intrude. I walk towards Ayla and I sit next to her as I tie the locket to her tiny neck. I smile as I imagine how ecstatic she will be once she wakes up tomorrow. I kiss her forehead and do the same to Ayden before I go straight to the bathroom to wash up. ----- "Mommy! Mommy!" I grunt as I take another pillow up in my face to cover the sunlight that invades my eyes. The bed rocking as a munchkin jumps on it non-stop and keeps on chanting for me to wake up. I throw the pillow away to look at Ayla who's smiling happily as she looks at her locket. My eyes widen and I jump to catch Ayla as she accidentally jumps back off the bed. Both of us fall on the floor, but Ayla is on top of me and that makes me the one who gets the most impact of falling on the rock hard floor. "No more jumping on the bed, okay? Capisce?" "Capisce!" I see Ayla's giggling as she leans down to kiss my cheek.  "Thank you mommy." I tilt my head as I wonder what the thankyou's for, but I quickly understand when she touches her necklace. "Don't play with it anymore, okay? Mommy cannot guarantee mommy will find it again next time." Ayla nods and as in cue Ayden walks in with a plate of sandwiches. I get up and sit as Ayla straddles me while looking at her locket. Ayden puts it in front of me as he takes a seat on the floor and looks at me expectantly. "For mommy?" Ayden nods and I look at the sandwiches with a smile. It's peanut butter sandwiches, I can see there's a whole lot of peanut butter in it.  "Thank you, baby!" I pull Ayden and kiss both his cheeks and grin as I take the sandwich and eat it without any doubt. "How's it, mommy? Okay?" I scrunch up my face to tease Ayden, but in a matter of seconds I smile widely at him and that makes him beam at me. "It's delicious.. Thank you, Ayden." Ayden hides his blush as he looks down and he gets up as he holds out his hand to Ayla.  "Let's wash up Ayla." "Okay." Ayla grabs ahold of Ayden's hand and both of them go back to their room to wash up.  Wait a minute I quickly run to their room and open it loudly. Both of them jump a bit, looking at me dumbfounded. "Wh..why..why won't you call Mommy for help, I mean, usually Mommy helps you to wash up.." "Ayden will learn to wash himself, same..same with Ayla." "but..but why suddenly.." Ayden smiles and walks up to me, who's pouting and almost crying thinking my babies don't need me anymore. He cups my face with both of his tiny hands when I take a seat on the floor. "Ryan said we need to help Mommy, and this ..this is one of it..." I look at both of them, how quickly time passed by and both of them grew up as a good kid. I smile realizing this is one of their efforts to help me, although I'm reluctant to let them, I want them to depend on me. "Okay then, but call for Mommy when you need to okay?" "Capisce!"  Both of them said in unison and I smile as I make my way to make breakfast for them. I stop midway, turning to look at the twins, Ayden is currently helping Ayla out of her clothes, all the time chattering with each other. Willow, I hope you're seeing this. Your babies grew up fast, it's great to see them like this but I can't stop the sad feelings. In the future, they will be studying, getting into university, working, and marrying someone. Once again, I'll be left alone. But, nevertheless, I'm happy to see them growing up to be like you, they both resemble you a lot, and you know what, I miss you Willow. I hope you're proud of how I'm raising them.  I wipe my fallen tears and turn back as I make my way to the kitchen to finish my first mission of the day, making them breakfast.
