Ryan
Time is ticking very slowly, thus tormenting me inside. It's been two weeks since I last saw Mia and those two angels, scratch that, it's 14 days 17 hours 30 minutes and 59 seconds since I last saw them.
Yeah, I know, it's crazy for me to count that, but I've never been like this and it's killing me. Those blue eyes of hers, her beautiful face, and smile. Gosh, I really need to see her, but this meeting is yet to finish.
I tap my fingers patiently waiting for the marketing manager to present his outcome for those two weeks since I'm not in the country. I wanted to meet her before I went out of the country, but the mess I had to deal with was huge and I couldn't even call or text her since I don't have her contact number.
Damn! I need to ask for her cell number later.
"Sir? Sir??"
I snap out of my thoughts as I look at Nathan who's looking at me intently. I raise my eyebrows as if asking what, to him and he quietly gestures to the other side of the room where all of the managers are looking at me.
I cough and sit up straight as I look at them, "Sorry, I was out of the track for a moment. I'll need all of those reports by today and I'll check it later."
All of them nod and I conclude the meeting. I let out a sigh after all of the managers are out of the room. Nathan takes a few glances at me while he picks up his files and tablet.
"Are you okay Sir?"
"Good, just..it's nothing, there's nothing to worry about."
I look up and smile at Nathan but he eyes me questioningly. He smiles as he taps on his tablet.
"You're really not a good liar, Sir, and as I see it now that you've finished all the things on your schedule for the day."
"But, what about the dinner with...?"
"Mr. Sinclaire asked for rearrangement, saying he had to attend to his family and loved ones. I bet you do too, Sir."
My eyes sparkle as I smile towards Nathan and he smiles too. I stand up excitedly and fix my suit.
"Tell James, I'll be down in 5." I walk around to get my things from my office.
"Noted Sir and have a good day!" Nathan shouts as I walk away from him and wave a hand to him.
I take the elevator down and smile when most of my workers greet me. I walk up to James, and he quickly opens the back passenger door for me,I pat him on the shoulder.
"I'll drive today. You can go home early and I'll see you tomorrow James."
James' eyes widen for a moment, but later he smiles at me. He hands me the car key and I nod as I walk to the driver's side.
"Noted Sir, Have a good day."
I smile as I drive the car to the main street and head towards Central Park.

I walk towards the café slowly and watch from across the street. Mia, Ayden, and Ayla are talking happily at the table next to the window.
That's probably their favorite seat.
I smile when I see them laughing and Mia looks very beautiful when she's laughing. Suddenly Ayla looks outside the window and she sees me. Her face lights up and she's waving happily at me while talking to her mother and brother who also turn, trying to find me.
Mia's blue eyes strike mine, and her smile is definitely not helping my raging heart. She waves her hand slowly unlike those two hyper kids jumping on the chair, and end up falling, that's how our happy moment got cut off. Mia jumps to help Ayla and Ayden, then I see all of them fall down and I lose sight of them. I run across the street and quickly get inside the café.
"You guys okay?"
I raise my voice a bit as I jog towards them. I see Mia is covering both Ayla and Ayden's head from the fall. All of them are not responding and it makes me nervous immediately.
"Mia? Ayla? Ayden?"
All of them are not moving, unconscious to be exact. My heartbeat is raging of fear instead of happiness.
"s**t!"
My hands tremble as I take out my cell phone to make an emergency call.
"That's a bad word."
My hand stops and my head snaps to the owner of the blue ocean orbs that are currently looking at me.
"Ayla, you're ruining the moment."
Now my head snaps to the owner of the emerald green orbs, pouting at Ayla for ruining the moment. Then my ears catch the soft laugh of the woman making me fall for her, slowly and deeply. Mia sits up while laughing, and the twins are also laughing cutely while pointing at me.
"You should really see your face right now, it's exhilara... oommph"
I hug all of them in one scoop and somehow squish them in my embrace before Mia can finish her sentence.
"Thank God! I almost got a heart attack."
Mia and the twins pat me on my back a few times.
"Ryan.. it's..too..tight!"
I quickly release them and they cough a bit and smile sheepishly at them. My thoughts jumble up when I remember what Ayden just said.
"Sorry, but what moment? The one that Ayden was talking about just now."
Now they are all smiling, but the twins explain to me.
"That's the moment to punich, pun.."
Ayla's stutter to find the word, but later she looks at Ayden and Mia for help. Mia smiles softly as she ruffles Ayla's hair and helps her with the right word.
"Punish."
"Punish who?"
"You!"
Both twins said and I tilt my head questioningly at them and shrug.
"But why?"
"You made Mommy sad."
My heart thumps when I hear that and I swiftly look at Mia who's eyes widen to her children's words.
"Babies!"
Mia yells and cups their mouths quickly when they want to say more things. Mia shakes her head quickly as our eyes meet each other.
"Don't listen to them, they don't know what they're saying."
Both of the twins nod their head as if answering that they know what they are saying unlike what their mommy had said. I laugh out loud and I look at Mia longingly as I said.
"I'm sorry."
Mia looks at me questioningly.
"For not coming for a long time and.. making you sad."
"Ryan, the kids are just.."
"I missed you.."
Mia halts and I see her cheeks turning a bit red, a blush that is rare for me to see. Now my heart beats a lot faster.
"You don't miss me and Ayden, Ryan?"
I look at the twins and I laugh a bit before I say.
"Oh, there's no way I wasn't missing both of you midgets.
I scoop both of them and pick them up as they both laugh. I take a glance and smile at Mia who's looking at us as she smiles softly back at me.
