ch 1
The sun had barely risen that morning, casting a soft glow over the city. It was a perfect day for a photoshoot, or at least, it should have been. The streets were busy as usual, people rushing to their destinations, bustling without a care of the world. I too was absorbed in my own thoughts, it was just another day without anything out of the ordinary. Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. Hi!! I’m Amy, 22 years old, a freelancing photographer with big dreams and a slightly messy life. I had a freelance gig booked for the morning, something simple—a fashion shoot with a small boutique. It wasn’t anything groundbreaking, but it helped in paying the bills. I love the feeling of capturing moments through my lens. Life is steady, predictable, and at times, boring—but that’s exactly how I liked it. I could handle the routine, the quiet, the steady rhythm of everything falling into place. Today, I have to drive a bit further than usual to get to the photoshoot location. My client picked a place far from the bustle of the city—a secluded, almost hidden spot surrounded by nature. It’s not an easy place to get to, but the photos are promised to be worth it. A lush, scenic area filled with tall trees, a quiet stream, and a few open fields. It’s the kind of place that looks untouched by time, serene and natural, perfect for the boutique’s collection of sleek and chic clothing. I arrive quietly early, wanting to explore and make sure everything feels right before the shoot happens. There’s a certain peace to the location—the kind you only get when you’re away from the noise of the city. The trees, thick and ancient, provide a natural canopy of shade, and the soft rustle of leaves mixes with the distant sound of water flowing. A spot that’s quiet enough for my mind to wander but peaceful enough to make me feel like I’ve found a hidden oasis. I park my car along the narrow road, far from any other signs of life. The only sound is the soft chirp of birds in the trees. As I grab my camera bag and set out to explore the area, I marvel at the beauty around me. This place is as perfect as it looks in the photos—untouched, a little wild, yet calm in a way that makes me feel like I’m the only one who has ever stepped foot here. I take my time wandering down a narrow, overgrown path that leads deeper into the woods. The air is cool and fresh, filled with the scent of damp earth and pine. Sunlight filters down through the thick canopy of leaves above, casting dappled shadows on the ground. A small stream trickles along to my right, its soft gurgle adding to the peaceful atmosphere. I pause for a moment by the water, leaning down to let my fingers skim the surface. The coolness sends a shiver up my spine, and I can’t help but smile. It’s like nature has crafted this little corner of the world just for me to enjoy. I haven’t planned to do much yet—just a bit of exploring, really. The photoshoot is tomorrow, but I want to take my time today, soaking in the peace of the place. This isn’t a typical urban shoot with rushing around and tight schedules. This is different. It feels slower, quieter, like everything is unfolding naturally, without any rush or expectation. I can already picture the kinds of shots I want to take, the way the light will play off the fabrics, the gentle breeze that will stir the models’ hair. It will all come together perfectly, I’m sure of it. I continue my walk, finding an open patch of grass just beyond a few boulders, where the sunlight pours in. The scene is breathtaking—a small meadow framed by trees with wildflowers dotting the edges. I take a few mental notes, already thinking of how I could arrange the shoot once the models arrive. The natural beauty of the place will make my job so much easier. There’s nothing to fight against here, no artificial lights or over-staged backdrops. It’s just me, the landscape, and the camera. A soft breeze sweeps through the trees, carrying with it the earthy, fresh smell of the woods. I close my eyes for a moment, letting the peacefulness of it all wash over me. The worries of the city, the endless stream of emails and calls, seem so far away now. Here, in this quiet, secluded spot, everything feels more... in tune. I can feel the hum of nature, a rhythm that matches my own heartbeat. I decide to stop for a moment and sit on a large rock by the stream, pulling out my phone to check the time. The models will be here tomorrow. I smile to myself, thinking about how lucky I am to have this opportunity. Sure, it’s just a small shoot for a boutique that probably no one will hear about, but there’s something special about it—something about capturing a moment in this untouched, peaceful spot, far away from the hustle of daily life. It isn’t about fame or recognition; it’s about the process. The quiet joy of creation. I lean back, letting my mind drift as I listen to the sound of water trickling by. My camera sits at my side, ready and waiting, but for the moment, I’m content just to be here, in the calm. This place gives both an eerie and soothing feeling
