The hours dragged slowly.
I spent them running around the hospital, sorting bills, talking to the doctor, arranging meals for Nolan, holding his hands every few minutes just to make sure he was still warm.
But no matter how much I tried to focus on taking care of him, my mind wouldn't settle.
Did Killian really do it?
Would Nolan… lie against his own brother? For what reason?
Why did Killian stab him?
My head was spinning.
I told myself I’d wait till Nolan got a bit stronger, then I’d confront Killian. I needed answers. And I needed them soon, before I lost my sanity completely.
I had just stepped out of Nolan’s post-op room, heading to the hospital pharmacy. The doctor had said his body was still too tender for more injections, so he prescribed painkillers.
