63 What is this, an AA field trip? Looking around the room, I see a sea of familiar faces. April and Dottie and Charlene and Trey and Oliver and others—so many others. Even Paul is here, his body stooped in Child’s Pose, waiting and reverent. There must be at least fifteen people from the AA rooms—at my yoga studio. I glance down at my color-changing ring—the one Trey gave me on our Captain Ahab’s date. I’ve held onto the remembrance, if not to the relationship. I guess you’d say What can make me feel this way? The ring shifts from pink to yellow. I squeeze it, like a talisman, and watch it morph to a purplish blue. I pause. Take a deep breath.
