13: Lilly's Daddy

1950 Words
The days that followed Chase's revelation about Lilly's father were tense and filled with an unsettling silence. Chase had kept his distance, giving Lilly the space she needed to process the news. Ian stayed close to her, doing everything he could to comfort and support her, but the shadow of her father's presence loomed large over them both. Chester did his best to distract her but Lilly couldn't push the thoughts of her father out of her mind, it was impossible. The knowledge that Nathan Carter—an alpha, and the man who had assaulted her mother—was her father was a heavy burden she couldn't escape. She spent her days in a daze, going through the motions but feeling disconnected from everything around her The next evening, as Lilly and Ian were sitting quietly in their living area, a knock at the door broke the silence. Ian frowned, not expecting anyone, got up to answer it. When he opened the door, he was surprised to see his parents, Maria and Alistair, standing there with grave expressions. "Mom, Dad, what's going on?" Ian asked, stepping aside to let them in. It wasn't like them to visit campus unless it was important. Maria glanced at Lilly, her eyes filled with a mixture of sorrow and concern. "We need to talk to you both," she said softly, her voice betraying the seriousness of the situation. Lilly's heart sank as she looked between Ian's parents. She could sense that whatever they were about to say wasn't good news. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Alistair stepped forward, his face set in a grim expression. "Lilly, your father, Nathan Carter, has made contact. He's demanding that you be brought to his pack immediately." Lilly felt the blood drain from her face. "What? No... I don't want to go with him." Maria quickly moved to Lilly's side, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I know this is sudden, Lilly, but Nathan is your father. He has rights as an alpha, and in our world, those rights are not easily ignored." Ian's jaw clenched in anger. "But he hurt her mother—how can we just hand Lilly over to him?" "We don't have a choice," Alistair said solemnly. "Nathan is invoking his rights as her father and alpha. If we refuse, it could lead to conflict between packs. For now, it's best to comply." Lilly shook her head, tears brimming in her eyes. "I don't want to go. I don't want anything to do with him." Before anyone could respond, there was another knock at the door, more forceful this time. Ian stiffened, knowing exactly who it would be. He opened the door, and there stood Nathan Carter, a tall, imposing figure with a commanding presence. His dark eyes were cold and calculating as he stepped into the room. Lilly felt a wave of fear wash over her as she met her father's cold brown gaze. There was something about him that sent a chill down her spine, a darkness that lurked behind his eyes. He looked her up and down as if assessing her, before speaking. "Lillianna June Carter," Nathan said, his voice deep and authoritative. "It's time for you to come with me. You belong with your pack." "not without my sister." Lilly blurted. Lilly felt her stomach churn at his words. She didn't belong with him, didn't want anything to do with the man who had caused her mother so much pain. But before she could protest, Nathan's eyes flickered with surprise seeing a photo of Lilly with Rose. "There's another," he said, his voice tinged with curiosity. "Your mother had another child?" Lilly's heart skipped a beat. He was talking about Rose—her little sister. The thought of Nathan knowing about Rose filled her with a protective instinct she hadn't felt before. "Yes," Lilly whispered, her voice trembling. "Her name is Rose. She's my sister." Nathan's expression darkened slightly, but he didn't say anything further. Instead, he turned to Maria and Alistair, his tone cold and final. "We're leaving now. The longer we delay, the more dangerous it becomes. by my pack rights I'm taking my daughter." Ian stepped forward, his eyes blazing with anger. "If you hurt her—" Nathan cut him off with a sharp look. "I don't need to justify myself to you, pup. Lilly is my daughter, and she will be with her pack, where she belongs. Not with you, pup." Before Ian could argue further, Nathan reached out and took Lilly by the arm, pulling her toward the door. Lilly looked back at Ian, her eyes pleading for help, but she knew there was nothing he could do. The laws of their world were clear, and as much as Ian wanted to protect her, he couldn't stop what was happening. As they walked out to the waiting SUV, Nathan's grip on Lilly's arm tightened. She felt a surge of panic rises within her, but she forced herself to stay calm. She couldn't afford to show fear, not in front of him. he didn't deserve to see her scared. Once they were inside the vehicle, Nathan closed the door and turned to face Lilly. His expression was unreadable as he reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face making Lilly tense. her heart was racing. "You have your mother's eyes," he said quietly, almost as if speaking to himself. it caught Lilly off guard. Then, without warning, he leaned forward and bit down on the side of Lilly's shoulder. "No! "Lilly gasped in shock and pain as Nathan's k-9s sank into her flesh. The world around her seemed to blur as a burning sensation spread through her body, starting from the bite and radiating outward. Her vision darkened, and she felt herself slipping away, her consciousness fading as the pain consumed her. The last thing she heard before everything went black was Nathan's voice, distant and echoing in her mind. "You're my daughter, Lilly. You will become one of us, whether you like it or not." As Lilly's body went limp, falling into a coma-like state, Nathan watched her with a cold, calculating gaze. The transformation was supposed to be quick, but something was different with Lilly. She was resisting, her body fighting against the change as she searched for her wolf within. Nathan's expression hardened as he realized this transformation would not be as simple as he had anticipated. But he was patient. He had waited this long to claim his daughter, and he could wait a little longer for her to find her true nature. The SUV sped away from Crescent College, carrying Lilly to Crescent Moon Pack—a place where she would have to confront the darkness within herself and the legacy of the father she never wanted. Desperate to find her way back, Lilly tried to reach out, to grasp the threads of her identity that seemed to slip through her fingers. She had to find her wolf, the part of her that was both fierce and wild, that had kept her going through the trials of the Wilds and the now struggles with her father. In the darkness, she began to search, calling out to her inner wolf, the strength and power that lay hidden inside her. As Lilly walked, The void was vast and unyielding, but she could sense a faint glimmer of light, a spark of hope that guided her through the shadows. As she continued her search, she began to remember the times she had felt the wolf's presence—the strength it had given her, the way it had connected her to Ian and the Wilds. It was a part of her, a vital part that she needed to reclaim to wake from the coma and find her way back to Ian. With every ounce of willpower she could muster, Lilly reached out to the spark of light, embracing the wolf within her. The darkness began to recede, and she felt a renewed sense of energy and purpose. She had to fight, not just for herself, but for Ian, for the life she had left behind, and for the future that awaited her. As the light grew brighter, Lilly felt a shift within her, a sense of awakening that was both exhilarating and terrifying. She knew that finding her wolf was the key to breaking free from the darkness and reclaiming her place in the world. ************************************ Nathen stared down at his and Daliya's child. She had already been in a coma for three weeks from his bite. That annoying pup, Ian had come like he said to check on her. He had held her hand for only a moment before talking to him about some pack issues then left. Ian would be back soon to check on her again. Hopefully, she would wake up before then. he needed her in his plan for his pack. "Alpha I don't think she is going to make it." The red-headed feckled-faced young pack doctor said wiping Lilly's forehead with a damp cloth. "She has to, the pack depends on it. Do everything you can to save her Charlie." Nathen growled walking out of the room and back to his house. Every single wolf woman had tried to whoe him over the years but Daliya had been my true mate. He wasn't pleased that she died from a bastard child. She had run from him because she had been scared of the person he had been in his youth. Nathen growled at himself for being so stupid back then. He had laid hands on his mate and forced her to give him a child. Now that child was in a coma due to him. Nathen growled at himself. Lilly was a defiant girl. He could see it in her eyes as she looked a him every time she had spoken at the college. She was protective over her little sister Rose and He knew her innocence had been taken by the west pack alpha Ian. She had tried covering it up with her soap but she smelled like his wolf. Nathen could have killed him for touching his daughter without consent. but He knew it would have started a war. His pack was still too weak to fight Sterling's pack and hold back the hybrid who once in a while would try to attack their defences. He needed Ian to be an ally even if he had touched his daughter. Thankfully he had not marked her or Nathen would had every right to call it treason and killed him where he stood. That smart little prick. Nathen knew he had kept my daughter as a muse, she was royalty, not something to watch for entertainment. All the West pack had treated humans as muses for years now. Protecting them and spoiling them instead of making use of them. Humans should be grateful for them, The supernatural protects them and helps keep them alive. wolves gave them the protection they needed and human grew their food and helped out around the pack grounds like his pack. They were treated fairly. they never harmed anyone who obeyed and those who didn't obey got punished just as if a wolf had disobeyed. Nathen saw Charlie run towards her quickly. "Alpha the girl is awake." She said bowing her head. Nather smirked. He could now see what Lilly had to offer the pack. "I will give her a day to recover after that bring her to the arena at dawn tomorrow. " Nathen said going to his office to begin making plans.
