A WOLFLESS

CELIA My eyes were scared of the man standing before me. His face was beyond perfection, capable of trapping anyone. His silver hair was so rare, whereas his brown eyes were a pair of exquisite jewels. Jaron was right about Alpha's looks and he was also right about his bad personality. I knew Alpha Killian was dangerous but never expected him to be a pervert. He ordered me to undress myself on our first meeting as if it were a normal thing to do. A maid's position would have been better. My left fingers reached the strap on my right shoulder and slowly pulled it down to my arm while his implacable eyes shamelessly watched me. My fingers froze on my arm, and I couldn't gather the strength to pull down the strap further. “Do it fast.” He noticed my hesitation and commanded. My lips sucked in a deep breath. I slowly slid down the strap to my wrist and pulled my hand out of the circle. Half of my red bra was exposed. My ears turned red, and adrenaline rushed down my stream. I did the same with the other strap. My bra was fully exposed before his eyes. His eyes searched for any weapon around my chest but spotted nothing. The mischievous look in those eyes was taunting my shame. “Remove your skirt.” He muttered softly. My breath stuck in my throat, yet there was no way out. “Alpha” “I don't ha-ve any weapons.” My trembling voice requested him again. “That's not for you to decide!” He refused. I gulped and clenched either side of my skirt on my waist. He tilted his head, waiting for the skirt to fall down. My grip pulled down my skirt a little below the waist, yet a knock on the door interrupted. “Who is it?” His devilish tone questioned the person on the other side of the door. “I am Suzie!” A female voice answered. “Come in.” He ordered in his deep voice. My hands immediately covered my chest, hiding my exposed bra. The woman opened the door and stepped inside. She appeared to be in her thirties and had a long black dress with white collars on her body. She noticed my situation but quickly turned her gaze to Alpha. It was normal for her. “How many times do I have to tell you that I hate more than one visitor!” Killian spoke in a rude tone. “Forgive me, Alpha.” The woman lowered her head and apologized. “We have a problem.” Her lips reported. “What is it?” Killian twitched his brow. “A maid went missing last night.” Words came out of her mouth. “She must have gone to someone!” Killian uttered the words, looking least interested. “We saw blood in the kitchen.” The maid said, holding back her breath. A strange silence replenished the room. Suddenly, his gaze shifted to my face, and the loose strands on the back of my neck arose. “You!” “Go back to your room.” The moment he said those words, relief rushed through my veins. “Yes, Alpha.” My lips mumbled. I pulled back either of my straps up to my shoulders and rushed out of the room without meeting his deadly gaze. Everything would have gone to the drain if Alpha had noticed the small dagger secured on my left thigh. Thanks to the Moon Goddess! It didn't go that far. *** In the middle of the night… I left my comfy bed and slowly walked over to the door. The room in the Alpha house was much better than the one in the training castle. A comfy bed, wardrobe, vanity table, washroom with a bathtub, and a balcony. It had everything. I decided to look for Hayes in the middle of the night. My patience couldn't wait any longer. The sooner, the better. It has already been two weeks! I covered my mouth with a black silk cloth, opened the door, and stepped outside. My gaze scanned through the dark corridor, and the coast was clear. Sucking a deep breath, my slow steps moved forward towards the stairs on the left side. Only two guards were protecting the main gate, and everything else was left without protection. It was strange, but I didn't care! My feet ascended the stairs, and after a long battle fighting the darkness, they found their way to a wooden door. “Prison.” I stood in front of the door and read the whiteboard attached to it. A hope flickered into my heart. What if Hayes is inside? There was a big fat silver lock on the door, and my eyes failed to see any keys near the door. “Could it be that Alpha keeps the keys?” My lips sighed. “Who are you?” A voice growled. I turned around and was horrified. A man in a guard uniform was standing before me, and his eyes glared at my face suspiciously. My feet took a few steps back. “Answer the question!” He demanded. I didn't dare to open my mouth. “Fine!” He smirked. His claws revealed themselves, and he extended them towards the black cloth covering my mouth. Instead of fighting him, my hands shoved him against the wall. His feet toppled, but he didn't fall. “You're wolfless, aren't you?” He questioned. I was stunned. “A normal would have used her claws to fight me back, but you didn't…more like you couldn't.” A drop of sweat rolled down my forehead. His rushed steps approached me again, and this time, I pulled my dagger from my thigh and scratched his arm. He groaned in pain. My legs ran back to my room, and he lost sight of me. A breath slipped free of my lips. I was almost caught. *** The next day… I entered Alpha's room to arrange his bed, yet he wasn't alone. The guard from last night was standing beside him. “You should have knocked!” His deep voice deferred my steps. “Ah…sorry!” The guard narrowed his gaze on my face, and fear crawled over my skin. “Come inside!” Alpha muttered. My feet slowly walked over to him and stood behind his broad back, trying my best to avoid that guard's eyes. “I want that wolfless in front of me by tonight, understand?” Alpha growled. They were searching for me! “Yes, Alpha!” The guard bowed his head and quietly left the room. Thankfully, he didn't recognize me. I was lucky again. Alpha turned around, and our eyes met. “Shall we continue?” “Continue what?” My brows furrowed. In the blink of an eye, he pinned me against the wall and ceased either of my hands in his strong grip. “Alpha?” “I don't trust anyone!” His deep voice whispered. His free hand touched my waist and slowly slid down to my thigh, and I felt the dagger's hardness. His face turned cold. He slightly lifted my dress and unsecured the dagger from my thigh. It was game over! Pulling it out, his deadly gaze fell upon the dagger's sharp blade, and the corner of his mouth curled. “Rose Lancaster” “What should I do with you?”
