THE OATH CEREMONY

KILLIAN Walkolf took strict action against those guards who went to the prison earlier for a round. One of the guards mistakenly dropped their keys on the floor. The guard who was found guilty got terminated from the pack house. As for the prisoner, Walkolf shifted him to the other side of the prison with tight security. He might kill the prisoner later. Walkolf would never let the person breathe who dared to harm his Alpha. Upon returning to my room, three members from the medical department gushed into my room on Walkolf's orders. Each one of them thoroughly checked for wounds on my body. Though normal wounds heal quickly, a wound from claws takes time to heal, sometimes leading to complications because claws could be poisonous. They're the biggest weapon for a wolf, after all. The entire situation was hard to process. I had never missed an attack, but my mind was occupied with a scheming plot against Rose Lancaster this time. She was quietly standing beside me. We didn't exchange words after what happened in the prison room. Her eyes were observing the medical members checking for wounds on my body. She didn't even realize that my gaze was fixed on her curious face. Walkolf was truly impressed by her. An attendant’s job doesn't expect to save her Alpha from an enemy. The role was limited to assisting the Alpha. Rose saved my life beyond her role. I still had my doubts about her. What if she did everything to win my trust? Suspicion was in my blood because of the past betrayals that once broke my trust. Whatever the intention was, Rose Lancaster won one point, and Killian Salvatore had always repaid his debt. I won't throw her out until my debt to Rose Lancaster is repaid. . . . CELIA My soul was still shaken from what happened earlier. I stabbed that prisoner's arm to save Killian. It was unexpected, even for me. My hands had never held a dagger before, let alone stab someone. Still, I entered the pack house to avenge Jason's death. Sooner or later, my hands would have experienced blood. Killian was standing before me, shirtless. The medical members were checking his wounds, yet my gaze could hardly turn away from his perfect body. He was gorgeous and well-built. “We checked everything, and there are no wounds.” The male member standing with a notepad muttered softly. Killian nodded his head. The members turned around to leave the room, yet his deep voice interrupted them. “Check her, too!” He commanded. The medical members turned their heads to my face and slowly approached me. His sudden generosity took me aback. “We need to undress her, Alpha.” The female member mumbled. Killian perched on the bed and narrowed his eyes. “The moment this girl decided to become an attendant, she submitted herself to the Alpha, so do it in front of me.” “The rest of you, leave.” His words were directed to the two men beside that female member. The two bowed heads and quietly left the room, closing the door behind them. I was again on the verge of losing my dignity, but it didn't matter to Killian Salvatore. “There's no need for a check-up!” My soft tone refused his command. “Why?” His brow twitched. “I am absolutely fine, Alpha.” My fingers started rubbing each other anxiously as words rolled down my mouth. “You're not a doctor.” He argued. “I know my body; you don't have to waste your time with me.” My stubbornness stood firm on the ground. Killian looked at the female member standing with a worried expression and signaled her with his devilish eyes to leave the room. She bowed her head and immediately followed his command. As soon as she closed the door behind her, Killian got up from bed and walked over to me. His hand reached my neck, and I gulped in fear. To my surprise, he gently started moving his thumb on my neck back and forth. “My fingerprints are still visible on your neck, Rose Lancaster.” His husky voice uttered the words, detached from emotions. Earlier in the prison room, he grabbed my neck with quite a strong force, thinking I wanted to hurt him. His grip freed my neck upon realizing the situation. “The mark will fade away.” My lips replied. His thumb was tracing the mark of his fingerprints on my neck. He wasn't worried or regretting it, but something was different. My voice couldn't name that weird feeling. I thought he would apologize, but I was wrong to think that. “You're still shy about showing your body to your Alpha.” “That's because…” I hesitated. “You have three days, Rose Lancaster.” He said in a cold tone. “Three days?” My brows furrowed. His face moved closer to mine, and I could even feel his breathing brushing through my features. “Get used to my behavior.” His deep voice whispered. “All the women in the pack house solely belong to Alpha, and his command is superior to them. They're not even allowed to have mates.” “What if your Alpha suddenly desires you in his bed?” My heart dropped to my stomach. “B-Bed?” “You're here to serve the Alpha.” His hand on my neck moved up to my face and he cupped my cheeks. “Next time, if you refuse my command regarding any matter, you'll be out of the pack house.” His voice threatened. I was horrified. “Is that clear?” He gritted his teeth. Never in my wildest thoughts, I imagined serving the Alpha would target my dignity and shame. “Answer me, Rose!” “I-I understand.” My eyes clenched tears from falling. Upon hearing my answer, his grip freed my cheeks, and he stepped back. “After three days, you'll enter my room and follow each of my commands.” Having said that, he headed to the washroom. Tears rolled down my eyes. I entered the pack house for my brothers, but it was a thorny path. Killian Salvatore made everything difficult for me. A breath slipped free of my lips. “I have to free that prisoner and find Hayes before Killian Salvatore forces me to serve him in the bed.” *** The next day… I cleaned Killian's wardrobe as he wanted and even took care of his shirts covered in blood. The maids were scared to wash the bloodstains from his shirts. It was my responsibility to choose clothes for Killian for the oath ceremony. He wears black all the time, so I picked something different…a white satin shirt. And soon, the oath ceremony started. Everyone was dressed up and excited. They were already flaunting claws in their friends’ group. The main hall was lavishly decorated with candles and flowers. A huge blue cushion chair was placed on top of the three thick wide stairs. It was the seat of Alpha. After a long wait, Killian appeared, but he wasn't wearing the white satin shirt I chose for him; he showed up in a black shirt instead. Killian does what he wants to do! His eyes met mine in the crowd, yet he quickly avoided my gaze, ascended the three stairs, and perched on his seat. Walkolf announced the ceremony. One by one, every new member of the pack house ascended the three stairs and approached Alpha. Scratching their palm with claws, they shook hands with Alpha and vowed loyalty to him. After a few more people, my turn came. Killian extended his hand to me, blood shrouding his palm. I sighed and slowly revealed my hand to him. He c****d a brow. Either of my palms was wrapped in a red crepe bandage. “What happened?” He clutched my wrist, glaring into my eyes. “She accidentally burned her hands while helping me with the fireplace in your bedroom.” Suzie, the head maid, explained on my behalf. Killian got up from his seat. “How bad is it?” His hoarse voice questioned Suzie. “The medical team said her burns are first-degree and will heal in two days.” She answered. If only they knew that unlike normal wolves, my wounds don't heal so fast. They heal like human wounds. “That means she can't participate in the oath ceremony, right?” “Yes, Alpha!” Suzie lowered her gaze to the shining floor. Little did anyone know I did it intentionally to escape the oath ceremony. “What about her vow then?” Gamma raised a question, and whispers replenished the main hall through the crowd. “SILENCE!” He groaned, and everyone shut their mouths. Killian observed my stern face briefly and shifted his gaze to Gamma. “She already proved her loyalty in the prison by saving my life. Rose Lancaster can skip this ceremony.” He announced in his heavy voice. I was saved. “ROSE LANCASTER IS HERE?” A loud voice behind my back from the crowd shouted. Killian glared at the person through my left side, whereas, for some reason, my hands turned cold. “Who are you?” “I am Rowan Davis, her fated mate.” He muttered his introduction. My eyes widened in shock. The one person who knew the real Rose Lancaster was standing behind me.
