PRISON ROOM

1262 Words
CELIA My feet stepped into the dark prison room behind him, and the loose strands on the back of my neck arose. The entire place was consumed by darkness, and a few torch wooden sticks were spreading a little light. The prisoners weren't allowed to see the light as per the rule of the Crystal Moon pack, and that's why they were kept in the dark. I could see cells with bars and dark shadows lurking inside them. The sight was really horrendous. Suddenly, Killian stopped before a cell. “Stay here!” He commanded without meeting my eyes. Killian slowly approached the cell, and a man in his thirties revealed himself behind the bars. He was investigating him for an important matter. Being wolfless, my ears could barely hear anything. Normal wolves have high senses and hearing. Killian appeared to be immersed in his interrogation with that prisoner. I took the chance and stealthily went to the other side of the prison. The prison was huge, and there were so many people behind bars. My gaze scanned through every cell, but Hayes was nowhere to be found. The dreadful darkness was making it even more difficult. It was weird that not a single prisoner reacted to my voice. “Hayes” I called. “Hayes, answer me!” Surprisingly, someone did react. “Hey! Are you a new guard?” One of the prisoners whispered, coming closer to the iron bars. My ears ignored him. “Hayes” I uttered his name again. “This is me, Celia!” That prisoner started laughing. “Why are you laughing?” My brows furrowed. He stopped laughing and glared at me. “Hayes is somewhere else!” Words rolled down his mouth and startled my soul. My feet rushed over to his cell. “Do you know Hayes?” He nodded his head with a wicked smile on his lips. “Where is he?” I questioned. “Hayes was in the cell beside mine, but two guards shifted him somewhere else yesterday night.” Tears filled my eyes. “Where did they shift him?” My fingers clutched the bars. He giggled. “Answer my question!” I raised my voice slightly. “What's in it for me?” His mouth muttered devilishly. “What do you want?” “Help me escape this prison.” He revealed his condition. My feet stepped back from the bars. “You're lying about Hayes!” “You're trying to trick me using my brother's name.” My lips murmured beneath a heavy breath. I turned around and took a few steps ahead, yet his voice interrupted. “Dark hair, green eyes, 5 '11 tall, and has a small scar above his forehead.” He described Hayes' features. My head immediately turned to him because his description was correct. “You really met him!” My lips said, convinced by his description. “Help me escape this prison, and I will take you to your brother.” He again put his condition forward. “He's in danger.” “They might kill him like they killed Jaron.” My heart dropped to my stomach. This wicked man in front of me knew everything. “Who are they? And How did you know Jaron?” My desperate voice questioned. He didn't answer. “Say something, please!” I begged. His stubbornness, as stiff as stone, refused to open his mouth. He was only interested in the deal. “Okay, I will help you.” My words gave into his condition. The corner of his mouth curved. “A small tip for you.” My forehead folded. “You should be careful of…” “Why are you here?” A deep voice echoed through the darkness. My head turned in the direction of that heavy voice and saw Killian. His brown eyes glowed in the fire light of the torch wooden sticks. He glanced at the prisoner briefly and shifted his gaze back to my face. “Why did you leave my side?” His interrogative tone questioned me again, based on suspicions. “I was just taking a look around.” My timid voice answered, anxious and scared. “Do you think this is a tourist spot?” He c****d a brow. “I am sorry, Alpha.” My gaze looked down at the concrete floor. “Let's go back!” Having said that, he moved forward, and my feet followed, meeting that prisoner's gaze one last time. He wanted to tell me something but sealed his mouth with silence as soon as Killian appeared. Luckily, Killian didn't catch on. I have to come back here! That prisoner is the key to Hayes. *** KILLIAN Ever since she entered the pack house, my mind was only suspicious of her. There's something strange about Rose Lancaster. My soul feels uneasy around her. Everything she does seems like a vicious plot targeting my life. I only had one intention…throw Rose Lancaster out of the pack house. There was no need for an attendant. I thought after seeing my shirts covered in blood, she would scream and run away. It was natural to expect that, but she broke my delusion when she accompanied me in the prison room. Rose Lancaster was getting on my nerves! Walkolf put a tricky condition before me. Either find Luna or deal with Rose Lancaster. After turning eighteen, every woman learns about her fated mate in the Crystal Moon pack. The women are blessed by the Moon Goddess to recognize their fated mate, whereas the men are blessed with immense power. On the night of eighteenth birthday, the woman would see her fated mate's face in her dream. I have no idea about my fated mate because whoever she is, she never approached me. Walkolf expects me to choose a woman as my mate. The pack desperately needs a Luna, after all. After Tiara betrayed me, having a mate was out of the question. Walkolf would listen to all my commands without hesitation, but he was stubborn about this matter because of his promise to my father years ago. I would have killed Rose the moment she stepped into my room, but Walkolf would have known it right away and filled the empty spot with another attendant. My ears could hear her slow steps following me behind. Any other woman would have been scared, yet her baby blue eyes were only curious. Walkolf chose her for a reason. If I can't kill her, then I shall frame her for my assassination attempt. Suddenly her feet stopped. My head turned around to check, and our eyes locked. She was glaring at me. “What?” Her lips didn't answer. “What happened?” I questioned again. She slowly stepped into my space and pulled the dagger secured on my waist in the blink of an eye. Looks like I don't have to frame her. My sharp claws revealed themselves and extended towards her neck. To my surprise, her left palm pressed my chest and pinned me against the bars. “How dare you?” I growled angrily. Rage replenished my soul, and my claws grabbed her delicate neck. She didn't flinch; instead, she lifted her right hand, gripping the dagger tightly, and stabbed...the man beside me. She only wounded his arm but his scream echoed through the darkness, widened my eyes. He was a prisoner who escaped from his cell and tried to attack me in the darkness. Rose Lancaster saved my life.
