The screams of her daughter are what fuelled her to get up. If she did not, he would kill her son and since he had the financial ability, he would get away with it. "Daddy please don't hurt him. He didn't do anything wrong," Elena pleaded with him. She immediately shrieked and Valerie knew he had hit her. She searched frantically for something to defend herself and her kids. Her eyes landed on the flower vase. With the little strength she had left, she limped quietly, picked it up hit Lucian as hard as she could on his head. Luck was on her side, he fell down and collapsed. She looked at her baby boy bleeding on the floor with no idea whatsoever how hurt he was. She wanted to carry him but she could only afford to half drag him. She knew she could take the car but soon as Lucian came to, he'd have the authorities after her. She had all the evidence against him but he had the money. She would walk with her babies. Elena was following her sobbing quietly. She had been hit but at least it wasn't as bad as her brother. She knew it would be a risky decision but she got into the woods in a nearby farm owned by the tycoons everyone feared and knew almost nothing about. She kept walking until she could not. Her baby boy was whimpering and it broke her heart. He was just five years, yet he had gone through the worst life. She crawled dragging him along. His sister behind them. They were out of the woods into a vast lavender plantation. Valerie knew she'd pass out. So she dragged her son on top of her and hugged him tight. Her free hand reached out to his sister and she felt herself lose consciousness. If they died here, at least it would be peaceful.
