Chapter4

Nelly POV

The bar is so busy tonight, my feet are aching and I feel so hungry right now, I go back to the kitchen after taking the customers' orders and I found my boy sitting in a corner nipping on a piece of bread.

Nelly:"Hey buddy, where did you get that from I hope you haven't snatched it from the counter, we'd both be in big trouble if you did that"

I scratched Jack behind his ear, he was happily nipping on the bread and waiving his tail, I laughed as he tried to push the piece of bread to me to share it with him, he's the most adorable creature ever.

Nelly:"No, it's ok buddy thanks you can enjoy your bread"

I left Jack and continued to the kitchen where I found Garry our cook he was running around the place like his a*ss was on fire I held back the laugh when he almost fell on the floor after slipping on a piece of tomato.

Nelly:"You ok back there Gar"

Garry:"AAAAH Nelly the steward haven't showed up to work today he said that he was feeling sick heh you ask me this boy is lying through his teeth bet he's sulking in his apartment crying over his girl who dumped him last week for a rich guy, such a b*tch Tsk Tsk"

Nelly:"Poor Ray, I hope I could help you out back here but it's crazy busy outside and it's only me and the boss is bartending"

Garry:"No worries sweetheart I'll be alright, your boy came to greet me earlier I gave him a piece of bread to nip on and as a reward he's guarding my kitchen hahahaha"

Nelly:"Yeah I saw him on my way he even offered to share his bread with me hahahaha, well here's the customers' orders and if the crowd lessens a bit outside I'll run back here and give you a hand"

Garry hugged me and gave me a kiss on my forehead, after my dad passed away I ran into Garry and he offered me this job at the bar, he took me to our boss Mr Timothy and he accepted to hire me as a waitress after that Garry helped me find an apartment near the bar so I won't have to use public transportation or walk home alone at night, nowadays that's the fastest way to getting killed or kidnapped.

I always felt like God send me Garry when I was so lost, scared and alone in this cruel world he was my savior.

Flashback***

I was in my apartment alone and hungry, my dad passed away last week, when he was coming back from work some thieves tried to rob him, my dad fought back as he had his paycheck and if he lost this money we would starve to death, the robber fought with my dad when he found that my dad wouldn't give up he sh*t him, took the money and ran away, these kinds of incidents happens all the time the police don't even try to do anything about it.

Suddenly I heard very loud pounding on the door, I ran to the far corner in the room sat on the floor hugging my knees and my whole body was shaking.

"OPEN UP LITTLE GIRL I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE, I WANT MY RENT MONEY NOW OR YOU NEED TO GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!"

My body was shaking violently now, tears were racing down my cheeks, I've used the last money I had to burry my dad I haven't ate in days, what am I going to do!!

KNOCK**KNOCK**KNOCK

"IF YOU DON'T OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW I'LL HAVE TO BREAK IT AND I'LL MAKE YOU PAY FOR IT"

I told myself to be brave, wiped my tears and stood on my feet and went to open the door and talk to him.

Nelly:"Good morning Mr Richard"

He looked down at me mockingly, he was a big man no one dared to mess with him and he scared me a lot but my dad always told me not to be scared as he'd never let anyone hurt me.

Richard:"Well good morning your highness, NOW WHERE'S MY MONEY?!!"

I tried to stand straight and stop my hand from shaking.

Nelly:"Mr Richard you know my father died last week only and the man who killed him stole everything he had, please give me some time I'll find a job and pay you the rent as soon as possible"

My heart was racing even breathing hurt, he smirked at me, leaned his huge body on the wall, he licked his lips and stared at every inch of my body I couldn't stop the disgusted shiver that ran through my body, I tried to hide away from his devouring eyes.

Richard:"Well sweet girl how about I offer you a job, you're a sweet little girl you won't survive out there I can take care of you"

I avoided eye contact with him, I understood what this disgusting man meant by a job he wanted me to be one of his women in exchange for food and shelter.

Nelly:"Thanks Mr Richard I can take care of myself and as I said I will get a job and pay you as soon as possible"

He was so angry at my reply his eyes were red and I can clearly see the veins in his neck about to pop out, he snatched my arm and pulled my body to his so hard I felt like it will snap in half.

Richard:"Who do you think you are little b*tch, you dare reject me?! HUH"

I struggled and tried to free my arm from his strong grip but I was very weak I couldn't move an inch

Nelly:"Please Mr Richard let me go, fine I will leave I won't be staying here ok I'll take my things and leave"

He got even more angry at me he squeezed my arm so hard I felt like it's going to snap like a twig

Richard:"YOU STILL OWE ME A WEEK'S RENT B*TCH AND YOU'RE GOING TO PAY ME ONE WAY OR ANOTHER"

I understood what he meant, he's going to r*pe me, I started to panic, no this can't be happening I have to do something before it's too late, I started to struggle more and screamed at the top of my lungs

Nelly:"HEEEEELP SOMEBODY PLEAAASE HEEEEEELP"

Richard:"SHUT UP YOU B*TCH"

He slapped me so hard I could taste blood in my mouth and felt so dizzy, suddenly I heard the sound of a gun getting loaded behind Richard, Richard heard it to, froze in his spot and raised his hands in the air as a surrender sign.

"Move away from the girl slowly or I'm going to paint these walls with your brains as*hole"

Richard backed away from me and I saw the man behind him holding a gun to Richard's head.

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR BEAT IT BEFORE I BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT"

Richard was so scared he almost tripped while trying to run away

"Don't be scared little girl I won't hurt you, my name is Garry where are your parents?!"

I tried to fight the dizziness in my head but I couldn't answer him I just waived my head in a no sign, Garry understood what I meant he let out a sigh and stretched his hand to me offering to help me up on my feet, I hesitantly took his hand avoiding eye contact, he helped me up.

Garry:"Don't worry my girl from now on I will protect you, no one will ever hurt you"

My tears ran freely as my dad always told me the same thing and I felt safe with Garry and thanked god he sent him to me.

End of Flashback***

I smiled at Garry as I felt the same fatherly love in his hug as the first day he saved me, I hugged him back and ran back to work smiling.
