Chapter 2

**Ms. Lykins' POV*** I met one of my students and I feel myself being captivated by them instantly. I can't believe I bumped into them this morning. We were sitting there talking and then the bell rings signaling that students should be heading to class now. I go stand at the doorway of my classroom and wait for my students to come in. I see a couple other students enter and the bell to start class rings. I go to my desk and take attendance. I only have six students this hour. "As you may already know, this is a writing class. My name is Ms. Lykins and I will be teaching you this year. Now most of the assignments you have will be on the computer. I don't mind if you guys listen to music as long as you are told the assignment by me first. Now if you all would please go grab a laptop out of the cart." I say. I wait for them to file back to their seats and I look over the attendance sheet again. I find myself staring at one name in particular. Tyler Jade. Female. I look up at her but I'm surprised that she doesn't look all that feministic. I mean she's wearing baggy jeans, a button up shirt, leather jacket, and her hair is cut short. It's actually styled in a cute spike today. I can tell by the way the shirt clings to her arms and torso that she works out. "Ms. Lykins?" Tyler says. "Yes?" I answer. "The assignment?" She says and smirks at me. I drag myself from my thoughts and write a web address on the board. Below the address I write my email for them to send it to when they finish. "You have 45 minutes to finish the assignment and send it to me." I say. I sit down and look at my laptop screen. I go back to scrolling through a story I was given to read by a friend. My laptop dings letting me know I have a message. I look at my screen genuinely confused. I caught you looking at me Ms. Lykins. What do you want to know? I much rather have you ask instead of staring at me. It makes me uneasy. - Tyler. I look up surprised and see Tyler looking at me. Smirking nonetheless. What do you mean Ms. Jade? - Ms. Lykins. You know exactly what I mean. You haven't been able to keep your eyes off me since this morning. ;) - Tyler. Ms. Jade I assure you I have not been staring at you all morning. Now do your assignment. - Ms. Lykins. If you say so Ms. Lykins. But be warned, I know when you're looking. - Tyler. With that she leaves the chat. I look up at her confused and majorly intrigued. I shake it off and go back to reading through it. But I keep getting distracted by Tyler's obvious flirtation this morning in her messages. I can't help it but message her back. Ms. Jade you said I can ask you anything? - Ms. Lykins. Yes ma'am. -Tyler. Are you new here? - Ms. Lykins. Yes. - Tyler. You were checking me out this morning weren't you? - Ms. Lykins. Guilty Ms. Lykins. - Tyler. I smile and blush at that answer. I made you blush? - Tyler. That obvious? - Ms. Lykins. Oh yeah... - Tyler. Do you have a class next? - Ms. Lykins. Ma'am that is a bit flirtatious don't you think? - Tyler. I cover my mouth with my hand as my jaw drops. Answer the question Ms. Jade. - Ms. Lykins. CACC. - Tyler. Oh. - Ms. Lykins. Again she leaves the chat and I see her blushing from across the room. She's finishing her breakfast while doing the assignment. I look at the time and see they have a half hour left to work on it. But then I get an assignment. Why do you want to know if I have a class next hour? - Tyler. Curious?? - Ms. Lykins. I'm your student. I'd remind yourself that before you continue to flirt with me Ms. Lykins. - Tyler. I get shivers from that message. I glance up and around the classroom to see all the other students but when I look at Tyler she winks at me. The class zips by and the bell rings. "Put the laptops away and remember the number. That'll be your laptop and folder numbers." I say. I stand by the door and watch the students file out. I realize I'm not alone and look at Tyler. "You shouldn't try to flirt with your students ma'am." She whispers. "You shouldn't flirt with your teacher either." I whisper back. She hands me a piece of paper and winks as she walks away. I look at it and see she wrote a note. You earned this. My number. Followed by her number. I blush as I sit back down at my desk.
