“The Mark”
POV Ayesha
I open my eyes, and I’m in a hospital, with all sorts of tubes and wires attached to me.
Logan has passed out in a chair next to my bed.
A nurse notices my eyes are open and gets the doctor.
“Ayesha, it’s good to see you're awake. You will be here for a couple days before returning to the castle.” The doctor smiles.
“Where is my family?”
Logan looks between me and the doctor. “We don’t know where they are, Ayesha. No one was at your father’s when we arrived, and no one has returned.”
“Emerald is supposed to marry the captain of the police force’s son, Lance. He hit my sister, and I attacked him. The judge gave me 25 years and….”
