Battle of the Factions Arc: Introduction

Elio, Diether and I just experienced a one long tiring week, such a total breakdown. We have been doing quest all around each and every day as if we never get tired. Now here is the end up, all three of us tiredly sitting inside the cafe of the guild. Luckily, the guild has some built it eateries inside it, making it extremely useful specially in times when you just finished doing a job.

The two of them ordered their foods, while I am just sitting and drinking tons of cups of water. I guess i'm not really that hungry after all the jobs that we did, but I must say, I gained a lot of experiences during the event. All three of us were able to discuss different skill types and various propagation about mastering your abilities such as Affinity Mask which is actually the first time I have heard of.

Affinity Mask is capable of wrapping the caster's body with energy that transforms into an affinity. The shape and form of the energy will depend based on the caster's variant. If for example Elio were to use affinity mask, his affinity mask would be having the ability to mask yourself with wildlife energy, giving you perks to how the wildlife process in life.

We were all just talking and chatting about our experiences until we heard an intense momentum of silence in more than a second. It looks like something happened.

Or someone just arrived.

We all felt that tremendous amount of energy coming at us. Seems like a group of people is arriving, either from a mission or after going out. But this is the first time I felt something like this in the guild hall, except that one time when I saw Mera thr fire goddess along with her comrades.

It was just a few moments later when the group of people entered the guild, carrying various items that seems to be rare.

I thought there would be around more than 5 people but they were just exactly 3. Three people each carrying a mystic item that cannot just be seen or found anywhere. They are wearing this proud smile in their faces. Suddenly, there was a huge noise inside the guild, everyone cheering up, shouting and screaming but due to happiness.

"The Lightshades are here!" one of the person in the guild shouted.

Lightshades?

I heard Elio laughing while Diether and I were left curious about who they are. I looked immediately at Elio, waiting for him to explain the current transition of events because after all, Elio is the one who has more knowledge about the world than Diether and I.

It took him a few seconds to realize I was looking at him as he laugh.

"What?" he asked with a little bit of laugh.

"We are waiting for you to explain." I told him.

I said 'we' because I can also feel Diether's curiousity about the change of events. The 'Lightshades' immediately walked towards the guild counter, forfeiting all the items that they just looted.

"Those are the Lightshades." Elio explained.

The group of people just continued walking.

"They are the most famous beau in Hergrinct." he said.

"Lightshades is the all time most active faction in Hergrinct. Each of their heroes possesses tremendous amounts of energy and each of them actually has different affinities." he continued.

"Lightshades is only composed of three members, and each possesses a unique affinity. Their leader, Johann Bohavouia uses the affinity of fire with the variation of a pantheon. Nobody has ever really known what can he do except for those who had already fought him. People say that those who dare to fight him always ends up losing and that they always forget what kind of a fighter Johann is."

"The next one, is Lilly Ambre. She uses the affinity of nature, with the variation of flowers. Her supporting skills are of high level. The other guy is Heronn Vithius, he possesses a quite unique affinity: guns. Since his affinity tackles in a general manner, he got no variants. But his aiming skills are extremely astounding. From close battles to sniping, he never missed even a single shot." Elio finished explaining.

The Lightshades must be someone strong then.

"The real question is, why are they here." Elio said.

There was an intense feeling in his voice along with quite a joy. He seems like he knows what he's saying, dangerous yet fun.

"What do you mean?" Diether asked.

"The lightshades always visit Hergrinct during summer. And considering the snow, it is currently winter season and they are here." he said.

From his explanations, it does seem rather odd. However there may be possibilities that they just intended to visit during winter.

"They are here for the Battle of the Factions." a random guy said from behind me.

We all looked at him immediately.

"I forgot about that." Elio said.

"We are suppose to know already what it means by how you call it, but please explain it." I said.

The guy behind me sat on the untaken space beside me.

"Battle of the Factions is an immense fighting event between the factions in the guild of Hergrinct." Elio said.

"It is composed of several challenges that each shows where does one faction excel the most." the stranger included.

"The winner will be participating in the regional guild eliminations, wherein various guilds from different regions gather in order to fight." Elio concluded.

"What will happen then if you win the regionals?" I asked.

"A wish." the stranger said.

"You'll be granted with one wish to ask." he continued.

An immense fighting event just to be granted one wish? That is one stupid way for someone to compete.

"The thing is, you never really want the wish sometimes. Sometimes you just want the fame." the stranger said and he left.

"I do have one wish." Elio said.

"I do too." Diether joined.

"My one and only wish is to see that one guy in the frame with me." Elio said.

"Mine is to serve the church I've always believed in. To be able to help everyone thru faith." Diether said.

All of them has their own wishes don't they? How about me? What is that one thing that I always wanted? Is there even anything to wish for? What is my main goal exactly? What do I long for? What do I wish for?

Suddenly, the bell inside the guild started ringing. Everybody looked towards Dio as he radiates a positive smile to everyone. Along in the counter stands the Lightshades members and some who had inquiries with the guild manager. The lightshades were vaguely wandering their eyes inside the whole guild. From left to right, they seemed to be examining something inside the guild castle.

"Everyone, a moment of your time please?" Dio announced in front of us.

Maybe this is the moment that they will announce it. There was an intense moment because people are definitely waiting for it. Even I feel this intensity and nervous inside me. I feel like any moment now I am about to explode. I guess there is a little bit of excitement inside me because of the fact that it is what makes my teammates happy.

"I think everyone might know this by now and today, but as a part of Hergrinct's annual event, we will be executing the Annual Battle of the Factions!" Dio shouted.

Everyone shouts, laughs and screeches in awe and synchronization. They were smashing tables, chairs, making sounds from various items specislly glasses, glasses might broke but who am I to care? I am just merely a god.

"The event will start anytime evening. The first trial will be announced at the exact time if the event, so gather around as early as you can for the information. Late factions will not be tolerated so come as early as you can!" Dio said.

A second round of shout, schteech and laugh occured. Thid time it's louder and livelier. There were still smashing in some corners, but this lively aura, I have experienced it beforem During the Island of Abilities event, Hergrinct is as as lively as this. Who knew that even just the guild can be as lively as a whole kingdom? I guess this is what Hergrinct really is. There is fun and joy everywhere, I guess negative vibes would not be a thing at all. You can even compare this group of vibes and peers in a whole kingdom, I wonder how strong could each of them possibly be?

"Now let us introduce our top 3 factions from last year's competition!" Dio continued.

There goes the third round, louder,nlivelier and things are actually starting to break.

"Hey you're all gonna pay for that alright?" Dio said.

Suddenly everbody became quiet. People started looking at each other, specially to those who actually broke some things and furniture.

"Nevertheless, here are the top three guilds from last year's Battle of the Factions!" Dio said.

"Coming out on top, the Lightseekers!" Dio continued.

The three members of Lightseekers waived their hands around the whole guild. Screams and supports were coming all over the guild.

"The next are the Volant Argonauts!"

Five group of people suddenly arrived inside the guild. All of them were wearing a cape with various color. One of them was wearing a purple cape, the other one a gray cape, one of them a brown cape and the last two were black and white. There was something identicial to the two wearing a black and white cape, maybe the texture of their capes.

"The Volant Argonauts are participating?!" Elio shouted in awe.

"What are the Volant Argonauts? Or no, who are they?" Diether asked Elio.

There is this certain aura and amazement in Elio's eyes. It is like he has always been waiting for this one moment in his whole life.

"The Volant Argnauts is a faction consisting of six members, each member representd a certain volant animal." he explained.

"Volant animal?" I asked.

"Yes, flying animals. Their faction leader is Spencer, he is known as the Sky Raven. Then the othe guy is named Bailey, known as the Storm Sparrow. The Phoenix Twins, they are called Zhelin and Lary while the other guy is called Elen, and he is known as the Melodious Swan. Lastly is Xeppino, he is entitled as the Chronus Owl." he continued explaining.

The titles are what made them seemed to be hard to fight against. Like one of those people who you would not want to mess with just like the Lightseekers.

"There's not just the Volant Argonauts of course, there's also the Divine Resonance!"

Then from there is when things staryed becoming more interesting.
