Chapter Fifteen As she ran down the cobblestone street, the bubble that was her skirts and undergarments hampered her movements. Had she not been in a public place, she would have held them up for ease for movement. For now, the less attention she attracted while still moving quickly the better. Looking behind her she saw no one was giving chase. She slowed to a brisk walk. It was late in the evening. Some lamps were lit here and there, and few people were still out. Making her way off the main street to a narrower one, she could feel the oppressiveness of the buildings. All the homes and businesses were tightly packed.
