Chapter 12: Wet Cat

POV GABRIELLA***

As I come up from the water I see Dustin diving into the pool. I swim towards the shallow end of the pool where there is a cave, I dive under the water into the cave and see the chairs, tables, and swing. I sit on the side of the pool and look at the sky from the sky light in the cave. I hear dusting swim in as he sits next to me and pulls me to straddle his thighs, "you okay gabby?" I smile and nod. "Yes of course I am fine". I lean down to kiss him. I slide my lips over his as he grabs my ass and squeezes it. I begin to slip my tongue into his mouth as he pulls away, "Gabby s*x isn't going to make your problems go away I know your hurt right now and if I were to sleep with you I would be taking advantage of you". He says as I slip off his lap and sit next to him. 

    I sigh " you know for complaining that I was a “c**k block” you sure are one yourself". He laughs and shakes his head "Our friendship isn't just about s*x you know that right?" I nod. As I remember when we first met  "I convinced your parents to let you stay with your aunt after we met at the beach" he smirks "I remember you were memorized by me and how you got lost in my abs" he said as he dragged his hand up his abs. I laugh as I splash water at him. "I still can't believe you convinced my parents to let me stay with my aunt who is a flight attendant and is never home by the way". 

    "Honestly I thought they would have said no to be honest" Dustin and I met at the beach when I was with Alexis tanning, well more like she was tanning and I was reading. Dustin commented on my reading, long story short we hung out and now we're inseparable. This was sophomore year of high school so Dustin has been my rock ever since. I was pushed out of my thoughts when I heard Luca's voice, "Gabby can I talk to you real quick?" I sigh and get out of the water and go through the door out of the cave. 

    "Oh hi Luca do you want to call me a w***e again was once not enough?" he sighs as Angelo walks out of the back door. "Oh now it's a party isn't it? let me guess Ava stranded your asses here?" They both nod, as Dustin walks around the pool towards us. "Hey dusty you down for some Gatsby's after we drop these two off at the resort?" he nods "Oh hell yea I didn't get to finish my food you stole mine". He smiles and I fake laugh and push him in the pool. "Im driving, let me drive off and put on a T-shirt and we can go". 

    I laugh as Dustin comes out of the water looking like a wet cat. "Come on merman we gotta go". He splashes water at me and climbs out. I hear someone clear their throat and look at Luca and Angelo who now are semi wet. "Aww how sad you'll dry". 

    I say as I grab Dustin's hand and walk inside. I grab a towel from the closet and throw one at Dustin, I pick up Dustin's T-shirt and throw it at him. I grab mine off the floor and put it on my shorts along with it. I grab my car keys to my Toyota Tundra and turn to the boys, "why are all of you just standing there let's go". I motion to the door as they walk out. I grab my keys and wallet and walk out with them, I unlock the door as Luca and Angelo get into the back and Dustin sits up front with me. 

    I hope in the car and start it. I pull out of my garage and drive away from my house. "So Angelo you care to tell me why you would lie about cheating on me?" I look back into the rearview mirror into his eyes. "I didn't want Luca or Ava to know I was in the wrong" I roll my eyes, as Luca glares at Angelo. "Im sorry Gabriella for calling you that and assuming you would do that". I smile at Luca, "It's okay I am used to being let down when people show their true colors. 

    After 20 minutes I pull into the front of the resort as the valet comes to take my car. "Ahhhh miss Gabriella I haven't since you in a while", I smile and hug Anthony. "I will probably only be an hour so if you could bring it back around six thirty ish? And it's nice to see you Anthony". I say as I tip him a 50. I give him my keys and walk into the Resort with Dustin, Luca and Angelo. Luca and Angelo break away and walk towards the elevator , but only after Luca made Angelo apologize. 

    Dustin and I walk towards Gatsby's and place our order, and now we are sitting in front of the restaurant waiting. "Dustin?" I hear as I turn and see Max, Ryland and Thomas standing in front of us. I look at Thomas who just called out Dustin's name. "Ummmm how do you know who Dustin is Tommy?" he glares at me. "Don't ever Call me that again and Dustin is my little brother" he looks at Dustin as my eyes widen. "Why aren't you in Arizona Dustin?" Dustin smiles as he stands up and hugs Thomas. "I live in California with Aunty, I moved here in 10th grade after meeting Gabriella". Thomas looks at Dustin dumbfounded, "Why the hell did you never say anything about that at Christmas or thanksgiving?" I smirk as I look at Max who is staring at me. 

    I quickly look away as I now feel uncomfortable. "You never asked and mom was too busy scolding you for never calling soooo nobody ever asked about me". Dustin shrugged as the cashier from Gatsby's came out to give Thomas and their food. I look at Dustin who now looks sad and looks at Thomas, "hey why don't you guys come back to my place tonight and you guys can reconnect, I have liquor and cards maybe we can play, watch a movie or go swimming?". Before Max can say no, Thomas cuts him off "Yes sure we would love too". I nod as they bring our food out.

    "Max knows where it's at we will meet you guys here, bring your swim trunks and if you guys wanna bring anyone else please do or don't I don't care just not a party deal?" Thomas nods as Max rolls his eyes. 

    I smile at Dustin who is pleased and hugs me. Tonight is going to be a great night or so I thought  it was.
