Chapter 17: Low Blows

POV DAWN***

"What the f**k was that Dawn?" Ava said to me as Gabriella ran out of the run, Tyler and Luca quickly followed. I walked towards Ava who was checking the cameras on her computer. When I got behind the desk next to Ava I saw Gabriella's car speed off. "I need to go get my daughter and teach her a lesson in manners and how she needs to talk to me". 

I heard Ava laugh. I turned around to see her laughing as she sat down in her chair "What?" I said as I walked up to the front of the desk. "That's rich coming from you" I stared at Ava appalled. 

"What do you mean?" I ask as I sit down in the chair in front of her desk. She takes off her blazer that matches her black dress with white belt. "Dawn when we were in highschool, you never told your parents where you were going, always talked back and only would lose the attitude when they would explode on you because you didn't know how to hold your tongue" I felt my face turn red with anger.

"Yea so in high school you didn't know how to defend yourself. You were too much of a p***y with daddy issues to ever defend yourself when it came to bullies. Maybe if you weren't such a pushover that incident at the party would have never happe-" I covered my hands with my mouth but it was too late because I saw Ava's eyes filled with tears. She stood up from her desk and grabbed the phone. 

After putting in a phone number she looked at me directly in the eyes. "Hi Anna, can you please put Dawn Fitzgerald in a penthouse and get it done by 2 thanks". With that she hung up as I shot up from my seat trying to apologize. 

"Please Ava I am so sorry I didn't mean it I was just upset that you called me out". She shoulder checked me and walked to the door and opened it. "I think it would be best if you got the f**k out of my office before I grab you by your hair and drag your ass out. I may have been a "deserving pushover at the party" but I am certainly not going to let you stand here and say things you don't even know about because you weren't there" She motioned to the door and I shook my head.

"No I am not going to leave just because things got bad". Ava nodded and took off her heels and did something I never would expect from Ava. She grabbed me by my hair and threw me out of her office, I landed on my ass outside of her office. She slammed the door shut and locked it. I stood up and saw Luca and Tyler running down the hallway.

"What happened?" Luca asked as he helped me up. "I f****d up major with Ava" Luca shook his head. "I am sure whatever you said you didn't mean it". I nodded as he got his key from his pocket and unlocked the door to her office. I looked at Tyler who motioned me to start walking. 

"What did you say to Ava?" he asked as he pushed the elevator button. As the elevator opened I looked at him and said, "I basically told her what happened at the party with Logan. The guys were her fault". Tyler's eyes widened as he stepped away from me. 

As the elevator closed he looked at me with anger in his eyes. "Dawn are you f*****g kidding me?" I shook my head. He ran his hands through his hair as he sighed "Dawn that was a low blow whatever she said couldn't have ever ever I mean ever topped what you said" I nodded. 

"I know I was angry........" he shook his head. "It doesn't matter if you're "angry" you never say something like that to someone who has had to deal with such a trauma. You could have caused damage in her mind and made her believe that the whole situation was her fault" He shook his head. As soon as the elevator open he walked out as I tried to follow him he stopped me. 

"I need to go check on Ava you're completely in the wrong and she was my friend before you were my wife". I feel my chest tighten as I nodded. "I will go get our room" he nodded as he walked into the elevator once more. 

I began to walk to the front desk as I feel my walls begin to break down and c***k as I think of Ava hurting right now and it's all my fault..............

POV GABRIELLA 

I wake up very hot and feel like something is laying behind me. I feel something move as I look at my stomach and see an arm wrapped around my stomach, I quickly sit up with one arm and see Max behind me. I sigh as I lay back down "Max can you let go of me please?" he groans as he tightens his arm around my body. "No five more minutes I am comfortable" I laugh as I turn to face him. 

"Good morning Maxy" he chuckles and pulls me closer. I try to smile and think how good it would be to finally be sleeping in a bed with Max and it be intimate but I cannot bypass everything he has done. So I do what any rational person would do. I lick my finger and stick it in his ear "HEY HEY That wasn't cool!" max yells as I bolt for the bathroom and lock the door to use the bathroom.

After brushing my teeth and using the bathroom I walk out of the bathroom to see Max sitting on my bed pouting. "Awwwww is the big baby angry that I gave him a wet willy". he nods his head as he licks his pinky finger and bolts from the bed towards me. I quickly run to the door and bolt down the stairs. I was laughing running down the stairs until I bumped into someone and fell on the floor. 

I look up and see my dad staring down at me. I stand up and dust myself off "You're not welcome here currently please leave my home". I walk to the front door and open it and see my mom standing there. I quickly closed the door and turned around. "Sooo the front door is out of the option but you can go through the backyard" He shook his head. 

"Gabriella I am your father we are going to talk about this I don't care if you don't want to we are going to talk about it". I sigh and throw my hands up in the air. "What's the point you're just going to say all these false promises about how "you're going to call me and answer my calls ", but you never keep them!" I hear the front door open and close "Gabriella we know we are completely in the wrong, Mainly me for slapping you. You didn't deserve that please allow us to fix this and work through this. At the end of the day we are family" I nod. 

"Of course we are family we will always be family by blood but it's also the actions of people that make them family" I walked towards them. "I love you guys. You know that it just hurts to know that I wasn't a concern or even a thought on your minds while we lived in two completely different countries. With that being said I think the four of us should go out for breakfast like we used to when we were little how does that sound? We can even invite Ava and Luca. Can you call them Max?" he nods and walks outside.
