The other men interrupted us again.
Janssen spoke to them for a while, then turned back to me. “They want to know what’s going on. I told them that I know you and that you saw the slavers. Now they want to get going. Will you come with us?”
I shuddered at the thought of catching up to the Beast-men, but staying out here by myself was not an option. “Okay. As long as they don’t mind,” I said, waving my hand in their direction. “I left the village I was in to find answers and I’m hoping you can help me.”
Janssen introduced me to the other men. The first two, Mazaak and Nakano, were from the Charan tribe, and Rihyan, Rinaru, and Shadrak were from Chandra. They were all well-muscled, long-haired young men that looked the same as the Waikari, minus the webbed fingers and toes. I greeted
