Chapter Thirty
I look at the dragon in front of me, and try to compare it to Lilly. It flies towards us, and brings his head close to mine. He’s staring at me with big, light blue eyes. The same color as all the Others have. I smile, and bow like I saw Shane do to Lilly. ‘But if he’s your Other’, I say to Raven. ‘That makes you a dragon rider.’ Raven nods, and scratches her dragon on the nose. ‘But your father told me that I was the only one, and that I was the start of a new era.’ She shrugs, and a painful smile shows on her face. ‘I believe that I am dead to him’, she says. ‘And you’re his new protégé. Or at least, was until he used you just to get back at me and Shane.’ I bite my lip. ‘It does not make sense’, I say soft. ‘Why he did what he did. I was on his side, you know. Or at least, hesitan
