Chapter Twenty-Nine
Time goes by like in a haze. I’m not even trying to form actual thoughts, because it feels like my mind has gone blank. I feel the scales of my Other under me scrape my thighs, and hands, but do not care about the pain. I keep seeing my brother fall down to the floor... Over and over. I barely notice that Lilly has started the descent. The trembling of her feet hitting the floor does not reach me, and even the set of hands that help me off of her back go unnoticed. The last thing I see before my sight goes black, is contours of Raven’s face. - When I wake up, I notice I’m in bed. My eyes hurt, my head is pounding and my entire body feels sore.
