A few days after the overrun of the orcs, Xerxes spent the entire three days staying in the bed but the body of the dead orcs were taken care of the hunters that he saved and safely held on to the money until Xerxes regains consciousness.

              ‘Ah- it feels so good to sleep-‘ he immediately got up from bed. “I’m late for work!” he exclaimed as the ones looking after him jump in surprise after what he did. “Ah- sh*t.  I forgot the truck run me over.” He mutters to himself not knowing that there are other people inside his room. His mother hears him shout and immediately slams the door of his room and called out his name. “Xerxes! Thank goodness you are alright! Are you hurting somewhere? Are you in pain? What are  you feeling?” his mother said as she hugs him tightly but the confused Xerxes stares at the seemingly familiar faces sitting besides the door.

              “Aren’t they the one I help-ed?” he is still a little hesitant to say it since his memories are still hazy right after staying in bed for three days. “Yes, we are the ones that you helped. I thought you would recognize me since I think I am the one that you sent away harshly.” The kid said with a disappointed expression as the other one bows his head in gratefulness for saving his life. “That guy over there is Ramirez while the other one is Rupert. They insisted in taking care of you and helping me in the house saying you helped them survive that tragedy.” His mother introduced as they help him up.

              “There are more people waiting for you to wake up especially the hunters.” Rupert said as he opens the door and revealed the hunter that was the last one to leave the portal sitting in the living room and looked really exhausted and restless. “Thank goodness you are awake. I told you right? Ah wait- I told you to look for me and I ended up looking for you. Haha!” he said with a weak voice as he hands over a small pouch. ‘What is this-! This thing is heavy! What the hell is this?!’ he thought to himself as his hands literally dropped a few inches. “What is this?” he asked in complete ignorance.

 “Ah! That, you may not remember it but you brought in the bodies of the orcs from the other side of the portal when you got out then you passed out. I took care and sold it all in very high prices for you. You are planning to sell everything right? So I did it in your stead and that’s all the money.” He said with a huge smile on his face. ‘Huh? I wasn’t planning on selling them though? I was going to show off the amount of monsters that I was able to kill and make everyone jealous but- I guess this is still good. Wait- if this is all the money.’ Xerxes made a quick glance at the hunter’s outfit and saw that his clothes are almost tattered like a rug.     

Xerxes then glance at the contents of the pouch and found that everything was in gold. ‘He sold everything and did not even bought some clothes for himself. That’s some gratitude you have there old man. Thank goodness people in this world still remember to repay their debts but he is taking this on to the next level.’ Xerxes thought to himself as he takes two gold coins and hand it over to the hunter who is clueless as to why he would give him a large sum of money.

‘What is this?’ is the only thought that he has in mind. “What are these for?” he asked Xerxes who also hand gold coin each to Rupert and Ramirez who also had the same reaction. “Oh that? That is just gift for doing everything while I was asleep.” After hearing his reason, the three of them forcedly put it back onto the pouch where it came from and told him various excuses why they can’t take the money.

“You already saved my life, no amount of money can pay back that debt. I am merely doing something that I think is right, there is no need for you to give more.” The old hunter said as he grabs Xerxes’ hand and puts it atop the pouch. “Keep it, you’ve earned it.” The hunter said with a tone of gratitude for even considering giving him money but he cannot accept it from the same kid that saved his life, his conscience wouldn’t allow it. With the hunter absolutely denying the money, Xerxes turned to the other two but did not see any reaction nor any more excuses.

‘Ah these people. I just can’t leave them like this.’ He thought to himself as he grabs a handful of gold coins and gave the rest to his mother. “I can’t accept  a large sum of money like this! This is too much!” his mother complained as Xerxes voices his reason. “The more reason for me not to have that much money mother. This is more than enough for me.” In Xerxes hands are almost 10-15 golden coins that would be enough to buy a land, build a house, and even feed the next 2 generations of his lineage their entire life.

His mother bitterly accepts what his son gave and sobbed in his chest in happiness. While Ramirez and Rupert swore not to leave his side as the hunter says his thanks and bids goodbye.

A few days later, Xerxes spent his money in buying the two some decent clothes in secret and bought a secret lair for them to train and learn reading and writing. They even build a dedicated training room full of weapons which was really expensive during that time and left them 5 golden coins. Xerxes persisted and asked the other two if there are things that they wanted to buy but he failed. None of them demanded anything from him but showed interest in learning how to read and write as well as train. ‘Geez, its really hard to c***k open those two. If they are being like that in my old world, they would be perfect spy materials.’ He thought to himself as he sat in the living room while thinking of a way to make those two spill the beans then the hunter came to his mind.

‘Now that I think about it. I did not see the hunter after that day. How is he doing I wonder?’ and then an idea came to his mind. ‘I should worry about the two later, that hunter comes first.’ He thought to himself as he calls on to the two. “Rupert! Ramirez! Were going somewhere, go and dress up!” by the time the two came down, they were already dressed up in the clothes that they bought but were slightly uncomfortable with their clothes. “Get used to it.” Xerxes said with a smile on his face. “Where are we going?” Rupert ask as he pulls his collar a little. “We are going to find the hunter and see how he is doing.”

And then their search was on, the three roamed the village in search for the hunter only to find out that he lives in the village next to theirs. “He owns a farm but I heard his fam is getting in some difficulties nowadays but you will find him there.” An old woman said as she  instructed them how to get to his house. The three joined the caravan that were going there to hitch a ride and fortunately one of them were one of the people that Xerxes helped and gave them a free ride and offered them a meals for their entire day of travel.

The three then arrived at the village and follows the directions of the old lady and lead them to a farm but their arrival was in a bad timing since the wife of the hunter is yelling about their debts and how they are going to lose the farm soon.

“Honey please calm down! I will find a way to repay our debt to  Mr. Sipin so just leave it to me.” The hunter pleaded and told his wife to soften her voice so that they will not disturb their neighbors but his wife did not listen and keeps going on about how their life turned miserable since the day of the accident. The three felt bad about overhearing the circumstances of the hunter but they can’t just leave him alone, especially when he is under a very huge debt. “That must be why I have the urge to give the money to him. You two got the same problems? I still have 5 more.” Rupert and Ramirez shook their head. “Like we told you over and over again. We are orphans, we don’t have that much problem except for not having parents.” Rupert answered with a respectful tone as Xerxes drags their head down to hide from the hunter.

“Sorry about that. We must hide ourselves and help him in the most secret way possible otherwise he will not accept it.” Xerxes and the two left the farm and immediately head to the nearest place they can plan their next move.

A few minutes later

“That’s the plan. Do you have objections?” Ramirez and Rupert shook their heads after hearing Xerxes plan and immediately head to the center of the village to look for the person called Sipin.
