Falling into a trap

“Don’t scare us like that! Do you know that Cynthia almost fainted because of you?!” Bianca scolds Britt while tending to the large bump on his head. “Why did you end up in that state anyway?” Britt hesitates to tell his sister in front of the others but then Berto tells them what he saw. “I saw him  running away from the kitchen while holding a jar of jam but I did not think any of it since his appetite had always been large.” Berto tries to explain them what he sees but not long after, he realize that they are adoring his voice. “Don’t look at me like that!” he runs away and went inside the kitchen.

              He then left everyone in the dark and hanging but then Xerxes appears with huge bags under his eyes and almost spooked everyone. “I believe I know what happened.”

              KYA!

              “Wow- that’s what I get for cooking breakfast? Well anyway, this guy run away after he saw he inside the kitchen. Though he had already hunched down half a loaf before he noticed me, after that he run away from the kitchen, he left the loaf but brought with him the jar of jam and a few moments later I heard something breaking and I think that is the jar of jam.” Xerxes explains as the women stares at Britt. “He must have run away because I was present when he swore not to eat too much again.” Bianca pinch her brother’s ear. “Now explain how you got jam in your head? If you don’t I will punch your bump.” Everyone is taken aback by what she said that Xerxes has to step in before she does what he says.

              “That would be dangerous Bianca, he might have internal hemorrhage if you do that.” Britt threw away his pride and decided to tell the truth.

              A few moments later after Britt is done explaining everything, everyone just stares at him blankly and devoid of hope for him. “You have got to be really stupid and careless for that to happen to you right?” Cynthia speaks up first and none of them disagreed. “She’s right. How does that even happen? You hastily put the jar beside the vase and end up sweeping it back to your head and knock you out. If that is not stupid then I don’t know what it is.” Bianca said.

              ‘Did Cynthia influence Bianca to be like that? Well, anyone would be needlessly angry with him.’ He thinks to himself as he decided not to stick around. “I’ll go now. I have already made breakfast so enjoy yourselves.” Xerxes said as he walk towards his office. “What about you boss? Aren’t you eating?” Bianca ask. “I’m full and I just want to rest after an entire night of work. That stupid incident just made me sleepy all of the sudden. Tell the other two to eat when they wake up and make sure Britt is not injured other than that. You can bring him to a doctor later after breakfast.”

              YAWN!

              “So sleepy~” he mutters to himself as he enters his office. “Well, I guess we should just let Britt be checked by a doctor since he might have hurt himself.” Samantha said after taking a glance at Xerxes entering his office. Cynthia sees this and wonders why would Samantha would always glance at their boss but then disregards it. ‘I’ll just have to ask her later.’ They help walk Britt in the kitchen and saw the amount of food that had been waiting for them, they even saw the loaf that Britt must have chewed on.

              “Wow. The boss might have called that a stupid incident but he even lid for you huh? Is that a guy thing?” Bianca says as she lifts the leftover of the loaf. “He said that Britt ate almost half of the loaf but it looks like there was not much loaf left.” Cynthia added and Britt did not even dare to protest. “Sir Xerxes must be really sleepy that he must have seen it wrong. You all saw those huge bags under his eyes right? It must be the same for these food. I don’t think we can finish all of these.” All of them stare at the table almost half full of food. “Yeah- I don’t think everyone of us will be able to finish it all.” Britt actually says himself.

              “WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS?!” Cynthia screams after trying one of the dishes sitting on the table. “What? What do you mean?” the others ask but Cynthia is not able to hear them and finishes a plate in no time. “You guyds- you guys have to try it. It’s seriously good!”  enticed by what she said, they slowly picked the food that they want to try. “Yum! This is great!” Bianca says to herself after taking a bite from a burger that Xerxes made. “Hmmmmm! Incredible! I haven’t eaten something like this before.” Samantha says but Britton the other hand does not give time to say his thoughts on the food and just munch on everything he sees.

              Berto then appears on the door and sees that they are already eating. “No fair! You guys did not even invite me!” he said and sees that they did not even hear him. Berto walks toward them and sees the highly satisfied expression on their faces while eating the food so he got curious and tried tasting one and before he knows it, he also got hooked and started eating uncontrollably.

              Half an hour later and Ramirez along with Rupert enters the kitchen only to see that everyone else fainted after eating too much and there are only four plates left with everything else demolished. “I guess the master made the breakfast. Nobody would not want to eat little if they taste his cooking after all.” Rupert said and Ramirez agrees. “well, let’s just eat.” Ramirez said as he sits next to the four plates and pulls the other chair for Rupert. “I think they enjoyed their meal, don’t you think so Ramirez?” the latter nods his head deliberately.

              After eating and enjoying their master’s cooking, they silently clean the table and washed the dishes before waking everyone up. “This is really embarrassing. I never thought I would get to eat like Britt at all.” Cynthia said as she sits like she had been drunk. “Well, that is understandable. The master’s cooking has always been great. Even his mother tells him that he should just open a shop because it is more safe but the master like going inside the portal and the madam respects his decisions.” Rupert said as he offers them all water.

              “Wow- that was the best eat that I have done in my whole life.” Britt says as he gently taps his tummy. ‘I can’t disagree at all. That really was the greatest meal we ever had. The food in the castle is somewhat the same so the longer we eat the same kind of food, the taste becomes bad.’ Bianca says to herself but she is still ashamed to have acted like that.  “So that’s why mother told me to be weary of his cooking and I thought my mother is just exaggerating but to think that it really is true after all.” Samantha sits whilst leaning on her arms with her hands locked.

              Samantha then covers her mouth after realizing that she mentions something that she should not have, she then turns to Rupert and Ramirez and it  turns out that they are not bothered by it and remembers the time when the five of them enjoys Xerxes’ food in the past. “Those are good times. But everything has an end right?” Rupert ends the talk and tells them to have some rest since they have eaten so much, it would be hard for them to walk around.

              “Thank you very much!” everyone of them got out of the kitchen and went back to their rooms except  for the girls, they decided to stay in Samantha’s room and talk about girl only things which ended an hour after then Bianca decided to come back to her room and rest. With only Cynthia and Samantha left, this gave her the opportunity and asked Samantha about the things that she noticed. “Samantha, why do I always catch you stealing glances at the boss? Do you like him or something?” Samantha then jolts and surprised Cynthia that her questions are immediately answered.

              “What? I don’t do that.” Samantha asks with a flustered expression. “You seriously like the boss?” Cynthia ask again ad Samantha’s flustered face got even redder thus answering her question. “Was it that obvious?” Samantha ask after not finding a reason to sway Cynthia and knowing her personality, Cynthia will not easily be swayed if she doesn’t have any proof to back it up. “Yes it is. The way you glance at him and smiles, and every time something happens that involves the boss, you always stand up to defend him.” Cynthia said as Samantha covers her face with a pillow.

              “I did not know that it was that obvious.” Samantha mutters as she refuse to take the pillow off her face even when Cynthia ask her.

              Meanwhile on the other side of the portal, Yusaf and the other elves came back to their tribe for a visit. “Long time no see Yusaf, your brother is expecting you.” One of their tribesmen said right after they entered the entrance. “Thanks for telling me.” Yusaf said to the guard and waves his hand. “Hello there brother. How are you?” Yusaf greets his brother who immediately embraces him. “You don’t stay much in the village anymore. You know it is dangerous to go out in the open world that much. And you even meet up with a human. You know how dangerous they are you know.” Flugar says with a worried tone. “The chief is constantly telling me to hold you here and tie you up if I have to but I can’t just do that. Now she is giving me unreasonable orders because I did not follow what she said. You have to at least listen to me even once.” His brother begs but Yusaf only smiles.

              “Don’t worry brother, I will have a proposal with the chief so that she will stop pestering you from now on.” Yusaf said as he walk to the chief’s building but his brother stops him. “I don’t think you should see her right now Yusaf, she will definitely smash your ass up.” His brother says with a fearful expression but Yusaf is not shaken. “Well, let’s just see about that.”

              Yusaf leisurely enters the chief’s building and what greets him is a bash of a crane on his head.

              BONK!

              “How dare you show your face to me after disobeying my orders!” chief Niberia says when she gestures to hit him again but stops. “You be grateful that I am a forgiving chief. It if was the ones before me, you would have suffered serious blows.” She says as she sits to her chair in the middle. “So what do you want this time you brat? I hope its not something absurd like last time because I will definitely ask for that tele thing if you do.” Yusaf smiles and looks at the chief. “That is exactly what I want to say chief. You see, the human I befriend with is quite generous so he gave me this much telescopes.” Yusaf put down the bag that he is carrying and reveals the contents inside, not less than ten telescopes that the chief is itching to get her hands on.

              She immediately steps away from her chair and grab the bag but Yusaf pulls it away. “Not so fast chief. I have a condition.” The chief brush him off and handed him her crane that signifies that she is the chief. “Yea- go and take the crane. You are the chief now.” Yusaf push the crane away and gives her a blank look. “What are you on about chief, I just want to ask that you don’t pester my brother that much. Don’t you worry about his health? He might die of you pressuring him you know.” Yusaf said as it is her turn to look at him blankly. “What? That’s all your demands for all of this?” Yusaf nods his head. “Very well then, consider it granted but what about that human that you befriended. Are you sure that he is not just using you?” the chief says her concerns but Yusaf brushes her worries away.

              “Well, I can guarantee that he is different than most humans that we have encountered so far. I have seen humans even more evil than what we know from the past and besides, if humans are evil from the very beginning then I guess I found a human that is less evil than we ought them to be.” Yusaf says with a smile and leave after making his head with the chief.

              His brother embraces him tightly after hearing his deal with the chief. “Younger brother! To think that you sacrificed your precious telescope so that I can be free from her grumbles. You really love your brother right?” Flugar said and Yusaf handed him a telescope. “Nope, I have gotten more than twenty telescopes in total from Xerxes. Don’t’ tell chief that I  gave you one. She might snap at me later.” Yusaf says with a smile and leaves his brother adoring the telescope that is handed to him by his brother.
