The word of their achievement of catching 100 live great lizards spread in their village and nearby villages, making their name immediately known just after a few days. The three transported the live great lizards back to the shop of the costumer and the father of the costumer is stunned after seeing that the great lizards are indeed alive. As per their agreement, the costumer paid them the exact amount and paid a bonus for given by the father of the costumer which Xerxes did not deny.
“Phew! I did not expect for the plan to go really well. I can’t believe we are the first one to catch that many great lizards, it is an achievement to be remembered indeed.” Ramirez said as he falls on the bench and immediately sound asleep. Rupert wants to wake him up but then Xerxes stops him. “Don’t, let him sleep. You are exhausted as well right? Go rest and I will close the shop for today. We are not in a state to open anyway. Those barrels were so heavy after all.” Xerxes said and Rupert wants to protest saying that he is fine but seeing that Ramirez is already sound asleep, they are indeed in no state to open.
“Please don’t hesitate to call me when something happens.” Rupert said as he seats to the bench next to Ramirez. “Yup, I will.” Xerxes said as he went to close the shop. ‘I’m not that kind of person who would want to bother someone who is resting Rupert. I’m sorry but I have to fail you.’ Xerxes felt a little bad for him since Rupert is someone who is loyal enough that if you let him be, he will not let you do anything and do everything himself.
Xerxes puts up the ‘closed’ sign and is about to head inside but then someone calls out to him. “Good day there Mr. Xerxes, I heard that your first commission is successful.” The person was one of the people that they went to when they were looking to fund their experiment. “I know we did not have a great meeting at all but I come here to make amends and want to have a good relationship with your company.” The person said as he brought some people and gifts as compensation for whatever he said that day.
Xerxes understands it and understands his intention entirely. “Wow! That’s so great of you Mr. – whatever. I really like your apology and your effort but it would help me more if you could get away from my shop right now. As you can see, we are closed for today so if you have any business please come when we are open.” Xerxes said as he rudely shows the person about the sign that says ‘closed’.
His men gets agitated and wants to beat the crap out of Xerxes but considering their boss’ will, they stop the urge to do so. “Please understand Mr. Xerxes, I am here to make good ties with your company-“. “And I am cutting whatever ties you want toy make. I was thinking that some of you bastards sent a spy or two but I guess I was right.” Xerxes interrupted and shows them a prototype that he made from wood of what it seems to be a piece of dynamite but Xerxes made it look realistic and even put in a small piece of cloth and lights a match.
“Yeah- try something funny, this thing here. Can blow all of us off, I’m sure the spy told you about the long rods that we used during the expedition and this one here is a little easy to use. I light this and kaboom! All dead. So go now before I turn you all into ground meat.” The boss bit his lip in frustration in failing to make ties and peace with Xerxes and his company. “Let’s go.” The boss said as he and his men left immediately.
“Yeah you better go.” Xerxes said as he waits for them to all leave before he heads inside. ‘Thank goodness my little dynamite threat worked. Phew! If they were a little brave I would have to bring in the guns. The testimony of the spy might be exaggerated since people tend to be that way when they saw something for the first time and it worked great in my case.’ He says to himself as he closes the door and heads in to where the two are.
To his surprise, Rupert and Ramirez woke up because of the commotion that they might have heard, the two wanted to get up to see what it was but Xerxes tells them to rest. “It was nothing. Go back to sleep. I will just buy something to eat from a nearby shop. So go and take a rest.” He said as he forcedly pushes Rupert’s head to rest back to the bench. “I told you to rest.” He repeated as Rupert protested. “There is no way I can continue to rest while you continue to work master!” he said as Xerxes gestures him to keep quiet or he will wake up Ramirez.
“I told you to rest so go rest. There is nothing for you to do anyway and do you want to wake Ramirez up?” the poor Rupert could not argue and just shut up and follows what he said. Before Xerxes could leave, he takes a quick glimpse and saw that Rupert is looking at him. He then signals Rupert that ‘I am watching’ before leaving.
“That guy really is a handful.” He says to himself as he pass by the backdoor of the shop and send him straight in the middle of the market. There, Xerxes looks for the ingredients that he remembers that makes up the dynamite and molotov, after half an hour of searching, nothing turns out. “Well, I guess that is to be expected. There is no way something like that exist in this time. That would only mean that I need to make it right? But making black power is quite a hard labor. The last and first time we made it took quite a toll on our body not to mention the stink of sulfur is also bad.’ He thinks to himself after buying the foods that he needs and went back to their shop.
Upon arriving at the shop, he hears some unfamiliar voice talking with Rupert. They seem to be enjoying their company so Xerxes stayed out for long and listens to their conversation and then enters after remembering that the food will be cold. He then meets and saw the people that Rupert were talking to, it was the children of Diana. “I didn’t we’d have guests.” Xerxes said as he enters the room.
