By the time Yusaf and the others arrived, Xerxes and the others are already resting on one of the giant creature’s legs. “Looks like you used that opportunity too well.” Yusaf and his group arrived in the scene with minimal wounds thanks to the weapons that they wield.

“Well, we’ve had a tough time dealing with this creature while truing to evade it’s legs. It was straining but we manage to survive with your help.” Xerxes responded. The two groups knew that standing under the light of the sun. Making them an easy target for the giant crow and other predatory creatures that fly.

“Lets go back. The others must be worried sick.” Yusaf leads the way back to the human settlement knowing that Xerxes, Rupert and Ramirez have strained their eyes too much and so he has other elves support them to walk.

“Sorry to even trouble you guys about us. We must have spent our strength in playing with that giant.” Carleon chuckles and disregard his remark. “Its understandable Mr. Xerxes, even our best hunters would not dare think of taking down that giant. You at least deserve this much help.” He added.

A few meters away from the entrance of the settlement, Flugar saw them walking and thought that Xerxes and the others might be injured and so he ask for someone to bring medicine or any kind of cure to treat the injured. But much to his disappointment, no one had suffered a grave injury and they are just exhausted for fighting the entire night. It was already dawn when they arrived at the human settlement and the native humans rush in after they heard Flugar demanded for medicines.

“Are they alright!?” Casim and his sister, the chief rushed in and asked. “Please do not leave the settlement. We do not know what kind of creature can attack anytime.” Flugar reminded them. “Especially you chief. You are the hope of your tribe, you do not need to come for such things. Your brother’s presence should be enough though he should still be resting to heal his wounds so I guess I can let this slide for now.” Casim felt guilty of his actions and just turn away as his sister is taken back by the elves.

“Don’t worry, they don’t look like that are in a hurry.  That means they don’t have that many grave wounds. Go back and join your sister and rest. I’ll take care of this.” Flugar reassures Casim who doesn’t seem to want to leave the entrance as he wants go see Xerxes enter their settlement but the elf insist, realizing that he has more wisdom and knowledge, the young man could not help but acknowledge Flugar’s words.

“Please make sure that Xerxes doesn’t have any grave injury and if he has one, please cure him. We owe him our life.” Casim said before he leaves. “Don’t worry, we owe him just as much, there is no need to worry. We are greatly indebted to him as well. We stand in the same ground.” The elf smiles and made Casim feel reassure that one Xerxes arrives, he will be in good hands.

“Let me guess, Yusaf is at it again. Fighting recklessly like he did last time right?” Xerxes ask and the elves went silent. He turns to Yusaf and realize that he is right. “Looks like I hit the target right in the head. Come on Yusaf, no matter how strong you are you don’t have to fight like that. Its really dangerous and perilous. You’re lucky that your friends have your back but what if you’re alone? Would you do the same thing? As an elf, you of all species know that habit does not go away easily.” Xerxes starts giving Yusaf a sermon and the elf took it as it is and just listen like a kid getting scolded by his teacher.

The elves could not help but laugh at Yusaf who stayed silent since he knows that he’s wrong. “Looks like you’re all still fine based on the lively laughs. Did something good happen perhaps?” Flugar ask with a curious face. The elves kept their mouth shut but could not suppress their laughter, their mouths twitch like they are about to burst to laughter any second.

“I’m just giving your bother and earful since he fought recklessly like he did last time.” Xerxes answered when no one else did. Flugar then looks at his brother who failed to me his gaze and turns away, confirming that he is guilty of the said action. He sighs, disappointingly. “But I guess I can let him off since they returned without any grave injury, more importantly. How are you? Do you have any injuries of some sort? What do you need?” Flugar returns to his worrisome attitude that everyone knows him to be.

“Xerxes is surprised to see this kind of attitude from and elf and smiles. “The only thing we want right now is a good rest. I don’t think we will have any problem with the food because that long necked monster can be eaten. And there are other monsters that Yusaf and the others fought. Gathering everything should keep our bellies full for a week or so.” Xerxes said before completely losing consciousness.

Everyone rushed to help him but then some of the elves did the same and the Rupert and Ramirez slept in as well. Yusaf manage to sit on the ground before slamming his body on the rocky side of the land unlike the others that just feel and injuring themselves in the process.

“Looks like the exhaustion got to them. Call some others to help carry them in, I would be troubled if some monster happen to appear and attack them while unconscious.” Flugar says and both human and elf alike, carry them inside the settlement before closing the door shut.

“Looks like they did not suffer any life threatening injury. They collapse in exhaustion. They will wake up in a couple more hours. Its best to let them have an ample amount of time to rest. Fighting in the dark is not easy when it is normally time for us to sleep.” An elf that specializes in medication suggested as Casim, Flugar, and the two chief of the two respected tribes listen to the elf’s suggestion.

“I will make sure the get plenty of rest just as you suggested. Rest assured.” Flugar said with a confident tone. The elf trusts Flugar and then excuse herself. “Still, managing to take down a monster as large as that. Are they even humans?” the chief of the elves ask. Flugar have not also heard such a thing but to the native humans. They have seen it with their eyes and were slightly surprise that Xerxes manage to take down his second giant.

“Xerxes, that is his second time taking down a creature like that.” Flora’s words has taken both elves aback. “Yes, it is the truth. The first one is when I met him. I did help take down that thing but Xerxes almost did all the work, we were both injured in the process but we luckily lived so I guess this is his second time.” Casim added.

The elves could not comprehend if Xerxes really is a human due to his achievements and just left it for later when they can’t figure it all out without asking the man and the subject of their topic. “Flugar, make sure to have them rest and recover their strength. I will not tolerate failure. The chief of the human tribe and I will have some things to talk about so you have to take charge in their recovery.” The chief of the elves ordered sternly and Flugar accepts it wholeheartedly. “You can count on me chief.”

Noon came and Xerxes is the first one to wake up among the group, he wanted to sit but to his surprise, he is tied on the bed, unable to raise even his arms nor legs. He looks around and sees that the others are the same. He calls out to Casim and the others and woke up Yusaf on the process. The elf is also surprise to fins him in the same situation and calls for his brother, sure of the fact that his brother must be the one behind their situation.

“Big brother you i***t! I’m sure you are the one behind this! We are not some lunatics!” his cry made his brother rush inside the room and ask what is the problem. “What’s the matter? Are you hurt anywhere? Should I call the doctor?” he asked but Yusaf just stare at him blankly with a disappointed expression on his face. “Do I look like I need any medical treatment? All I want right now is to get off this bed. Everyone else is tied. What the heck does this mean!” Flugar looks at him like he is accusing him of something that he is not aware of.

“What do you mean? I’m tasked to have you all get some rest and that’s just what I am doing. Knowing you, you will definitely jump off your bed the moment you wake up. I felt guilty for tying you alone so I decided to tied everyone up since they might also do the same.”

Yusaf wants to bury his face under his palms in humiliation but he can’t he is force to look at his older brother’s face. “We can’t rest properly with these things tying our body.” Xerxes jumps in. “This will just make us more troubled.” He added.

Flugar turns to his brother who also agree to Xerxes’ sentiment and so he orders the elves outside the room to cut the rope that tie them down but before this all happens, the chief arrive to witness such blunder. She immediately knew what had happened and regrets ever leaving everything to Flugar who exaggerates everything.

She gently press the skin between her eyes and sighed. “Flugar what did you do now?” the chief knew what exactly happened but still asks him anyway and Flugar explains everything. The chief felt awfully ashamed and disappointed ever hearing it directly from his mouth.

Yusay knows exactly how she felt, the feeling of wanting to bury her face under the ground in shame. “Yeah, this is how my brother reacts to orders. He overdo everything, every single thing.” Yusaf says blankly after his body gets free of the ropes that tied him down.

“You are Xerxes I presume? Yusaf talks highly of you. I came here to talk with the human chief and we have done so while you are all asleep. But I plan to make that talk again when you wake up. Thank you for helping our tribe. We owe you a great debt.” the chief of the elves, spoke with utmost respect for Xerxes and bows gently and introduces herself. “I am Niberia, chief of the elven tribe. Please to finally meet you Xerxes the human.”

Xerxes is taken aback by the beauty of the elven chief that he takes a few moments before he can respond. “Please to meet you as well chief Niberia, Yusaf said some things about you as well.” Xerxes responds with the same level of respect towards the elven chief.
