CHAPTER THIRTEEN The horse lurched once more, throwing Henri forward in the saddle. He cursed loudly, reined his mount to a stop and cursed again. The members of his party all looked away, each finding something more interesting than what they knew was about to happen. The Prince threw his leg over the back of the horse and jumped down, raising a cloud of dust on the dry road. He walked back slowly, watching the dust drift lazily across the wide North/South road as he slid his hand loosely down the rope tied to the rear of his saddle. When he reached the end, he grasped it in a tight grip and snatched up the man tied to it in a single quick movement. The man had no choice but to rise to his feet, although he had no desire to do so. “Why is it so difficult for you to keep up!” Henri shout
