CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Emmeline was lost.
Her journey down the other side of the mountain proved easy and uneventful. She listened to the commotion of The Sisters’s fight for some time as she grumbled to herself about rude and disruptive gods. Emmeline realized too late that she had left her paquet on the flat rock. She certainly did not want to see The Sisters again to retrieve it, convincing herself she would be fine until she reached The Wild Hare. The fact that she had no money, no food, and no water did not concern her greatly. She was still too angry at the meddlesome gods who had interfered with her on this journey.
