Jason pov “I think that’s great. She will love it” Lilly said and showed the necklace. A silver Interlocked Heart Necklace is simple and beautiful just like her. “Yes, Mark I’m with Jason to help him choose a gift for Fi. Yeah, I will come there when we finish. Love you” she says to Mark on the phone “It’s perfect. I will take it” “Fi will love it.” She says and I go to pay for it. I leave her at the bar to Mark and I go home to prepare the surprise for Fiona’s twenty-sixth birthday. I reach home I have an hour to get ready until Fiona returns from her parents. I order Chinese her favorite and I finish the decorations, flowers, and candles. A romantic night with my baby girl. After an hour I’m ready and waiting for Fiona. I sit on the couch and wait. Forty-five minutes pass and nothing. Strangely, Fiona is never late. I call her dad. “Hey Jason” “Hi, sheriff. Is Fiona still there?” “No. She left one hour ago to come to you. She didn’t come?“ f**k I don’t like that “She isnt here. Your house is fifty minutes away. I don’t like this” I say worried “Maybe she goes to Mark's “ “No. Mark and Lilly have a night out. She told me she would leave from your place at seven pm, now it’s almost eight pm and she’s not here” “Relax I’m coming there” he hung up and I tried to call her again. No answer. I go outside to check but still no sign of her. Where are you, baby? I see the sheriff's car, he and his wife get out of the car. “Any news?” He asks “No, nothing. I don’t understand” I say and pass my fingers on my hair “We will find her,” her mom says and she tries to hold her tears. “We called Mark. They haven’t seen her. They coming too” the sheriff said “I call back up to start looking for her” “I can’t stay here and do nothing. I have to find her” I say and go to the car. “We will be in touch,” I say and I drove away. I don’t know how much time has passed. I crossed the city. I stop the car. Where are you, baby? My phone rang, unknown I’d “Hello?” “Hi baby” “What do you want Jessie? I’m not in the mood” “That’s why I call. To make you feel better” “Jessie leave alone” “Don’t hang up on me. You will regret it.” “Speak” I hear her yell through the phone “Jason?” I hear my baby crying “Fiona?” “If you want her alive come meet me. I will text you the address. No police” and she hung up. Jessie, you will pay for this.
