Chapter 50The Fifties gave way to the Sixties. Reuben was our precious child, so naturally we put all our energy into him; all of our expectations and hopes. We told ourselves that we worked hard so we could provide for him. So that he might have a better life. He did well in school and formed several strong friendships. Reuben now had two younger cousins and his aunt and uncle had purchased a home just down the block. Simmy and I purchased four more apartment buildings, so now we owned eight.
