Our first love story

A moody morning, I had an unexpected encounter with a guy he bumped into me while he was rushing off. He didn’t even apologize, and that really got to me. From that day on, I started to dislike him. Every time we met, I’d glare at him, and that made him start teasing me. Slowly, that’s how we began to get used to each other. One morning, I received a letter. At first, I didn’t want to take it, but eventually I did and read it. It said: *"Hi, how are you? Are you okay? It’s been two days and you haven’t been coming to relax like usual. What happened? Hope all is well. Thanks, bye."* I didn’t reply. Later that evening, he sent another letter: *"You didn’t respond. Are you mad at me?"* This time, I replied: *"No, how are you? Hope you’re fine. Nothing’s wrong, I’ve just been busy."* He responded: *"Okay then, no problem." I usually visited his mother often, so I was familiar with the family. That day, I went to the house and found out no one else was home except him. When I entered the sitting room, I asked, “Is no one home?” He said, “Yeah, seriously, no one’s here.” I asked, “Did you tell your mom I was coming? He said, “Aren’t you going to sit? Are you leaving already?” I said, “Yes.” He replied, “Okay, but remember I said we’d talk last time, and you didn’t reply.” I said, “Alright, I’m listening. What is it?” He said: *“I just want to see you… I miss you.”* I stood up quickly, feeling shy, and said, *“You’re mad,” and I left but I couldn’t stop smiling, thinking about him. The next day, we met again. I gave him a small smile, and he smiled back and walked past. A few days later, he sent me another letter: *“I don’t know what it is, but my feelings for you are changing. I don’t want to just be friends anymore. Can we be best friends?”* I replied, *“Seriously? Me? You want me to be your bestie? Why?”* He answered: *“Because I want to be closer to you and that can only happen if we grow closer to each other. What do you say?”* I said, *“Uhm… let’s give it a try!”* Later, he sent another letter: *“My mom’s not around. Can you come over? I miss you, friend.”* I replied, *“Alright, when and where?”* He said, *“At my place. 4 p.m.”
