CHAPTER 02

HIS FIANCE

As Anna opened her eyes the next morning, she found herself in a large don't bed. As she looked around the room she noticed Ethan sleeping next to her. Immediately her mind drifted to the memories of the previous day, she blushed heavily as she covered her face with both hands.

It was still hard for her to believe that she was now the young Master's girlfriend. "Ethan's girlfriend

She looked at handsome Ethan and noticed he was still sleeping, he was so cute when he was asleep and the rays from the window side brought more perfection to his sexy face. And not wanting to disturb his sleep, still blushing she pecked his cheek and got up from the bed quietly, dressed quickly and left his room.

Immediately she stepped out of his room, she noticed a figure standing near the door, she looked up to see Mrs Celine looking at her suspiciously and with all curiosity. Mrs Celine stood there looking like she had just caught a thief.

"Go..go..good Morning Mrs Celine," Anna said as her voice trembled slightly. She fidgeted with her hands, feeling a bit nervous under Mrs Celine's suspicious gaze.

"Where have you been since yesterday Anna, I came to your room but didn't see you"?

"I… I went to attend to Mr Ethan ma, I had room take care of some things for him. but I later came back to my room, Anna lied as fear rose in her chest, She prayed Mrs Celine didn't suspect anything."

Anna wondered why Mrs Celine was looking at her so sceptically. "What is she thinking? Anna thought. "Why was she looking at her so intently?" Suddenly Mrs Celine asked a question that shocked her.

"Why are you in the young Master's room so early?" Mrs Celine inquired in a sharp voice she looked at Anna suspiciously and wondered what the maid wanted in the young Master's bedroom at such early hours.

Anna froze immediately when she heard Mrs Celine's question.

"I…, I was just here to help Mr Ethan, he called for my assistance this early morning, Nothing much Ma", she said hoping her voice sounded convincing

Mrs Celine looked at her for some moments then spoke.

"Okay You can go", Mrs Celine said still looking suspiciously at Anna.

Anna felt relieved. She was finally free from Mrs Celine's frightening gaze.

As she walked down the hallway, she let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding. She was grateful that she hadn't pressed further with her numerous questions.

It had been a month since Anna became Ethan's girlfriend, she had finished her work one afternoon and headed towards the kitchen, as she passed the hallway she heard people chattering in the living room, she listened well and noticed a familiar voice, it was Ethan's mother and another voice that wasn't familiar. She didn't know the owner of the voice and tried to look into the room.

As she peeped in she saw an unfamiliar person. She went on to observe the person and noticed it was a beautiful blonde, elegant lady in her late twenties.

She looked further and noticed the lady's beautiful and flawless skin and the attire she wore, it was obvious the lady was also from a rich and influential home but she didn't know the lady too well, it seemed this was her first time visiting.

"Could it be Mrs Wilson's daughter"? No, Mrs Wilson had only one child and that's Ethan so who could this lady be? Maybe she could be a business partner? She wondered.

Anna ignored the numerous thoughts that were flying through her head and went to the kitchen.

She saw different varieties of foods as she entered the kitchen and wondered what was going on, she looked at one corner of the large kitchen and heard some maids gossiping about some things she didn't hear clearly. She saw another maid trying to serve the guest food at the dining and walked up to her.

"Wow! You made different varieties of dishes today" she said to the maid as she noticed the numerous dishes that were lined up on the kitchen table.

"Yes, it's for the Young Master's Fiancee, she visited and Mrs Wilson made sure we made plentiful dishes for her". The maid replied and continued what she was doing.

"So…sorry you said it's for who? I..I mean who is the guest in the living room?". She asked wanting to be sure of what she had just heard.

"The guest in the room is Master Ethan's Fiancee and longtime girlfriend."

"We were instructed to prepare these different dishes to give her a warm welcome". The maid said and when she noticed that Anna was oblivious to what was going on and continued

"You didn't know Mr Ethan's Fiancee? They are even getting married soon, their wedding is in three days, I thought all the servants were told two weeks ago? Where were you then?" The maid bombarded Anna with different questions.

"I..I.. wasn't there, I was busy then"... She remembered it was probably one of the days she had gone to Ethan's room at the time they had told the servants about the homecoming of his Fiancee.

"Please excuse me, I will be back, I need to ease myself". Anna said and left for her room.

Anna ran into her room gobsmacked, she couldn't understand what was going on. "Ethan had a fiancee? and they are getting married in two days? she couldn't believe this was happening. "No! this can't be true" She thought as she paced around the room. Tears threatened to come out but she blinked it off.

"He told me he loved me and that he was going to spend his forever with me. Am sure there is a mix-up somewhere" She said soberly to herself.

She liked Ethan a lot since she had been working in the mansion and now she had already fallen hopelessly in love with him.

She didn't know how she would cope with seeing him with another woman. She knew that once they got married, he would forget everything about her and the thought of that broke her heart.

She had to be strong and let Ethan tell it to her by himself before she could believe what the other maid had said.

She braced up and left the kitchen to where the other servants were.

Mrs Celine had ordered her to set up the large dining table for the Wilsons and their guest.

She had gone to set the table and glanced at the lady sitting with Mrs Wilson, immediately what the other maid had told her flashed her mind.

She placed everything orderly on the table and went back to the kitchen.

The Wilsons had retired to the dining and were ready to eat. Mrs Celine had told Anna to go get the dishes done when she saw Ethan walk to the dining. The next thing he did shocked her to her bone.

She saw as he leaned down and pecked both cheeks of the lady who was his fiance with so much love. She had almost lost balance but comported herself and headed to serve them.

She got to the dining and looked at Ethan, who behaved as if he didn't know her.

"So it is true?" Anna thought as she started dishing their food in the tray. As she reached the lady's plate, she raised her eyes to see the lady looking at her with so much contempt and hatred. The lady had a look of intimidation on her face.

Anna wondered what she had done that made the lady look at her that way. It was obvious that the lady hated her sight and wasn't comfortable with her near her. She didn't bother rather she bent her head and continued what she was doing.

She had gotten to Ethan's side to dish his food.

She was close to Ethan but he didn't bulge, he behaved like they had nothing in common except being his maid. This was the man who said he loved her, the same man she had been with two days ago, she wondered if she had done something wrong and why he had kept a stern face when he looked at her.

Anna had finished dishing everyone's food and stood by the side in case they needed anything.

"You're really going to be a beautiful bride Vera, Mrs Wilson beamed as she rubbed Vera's back smiling"

"I can't wait for you and Ethan to give me grandchildren she said smiling while Mr Wilson only nodded. I have already made preparations for a very big wedding party and it's going to be a blast" she said as Vera smiled.

Anna looked at Ethan but he didn't say a word instead he continued eating his food.

"What are you still doing here?" Vera asked as soon as she noticed Anna was still standing there. She rolled her eyes disdainfully at Anna as she waited for what she had to say.

"I…I am here in case you need me to help you with anything" Anna said in a low voice her head still bent to the ground.

"We don't need your help with anything so butt out," Vera said with hatred all over her face.

Anna couldn't understand why the woman who had just seen her today had already hated her that much even when she hadn't offended her.

Anna was still standing there when the voice she had been longing to hear spoke.

"Didn't You hear my Wife? Get out!" Ethan barked.
