I kept staring at the woman as if she were an alien from another planet. And no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t see her as Adan’s sister. For starters she looked nothing like him. There wasn’t a single thing the two had in common in terms of their physical appearance. So either this woman was adopted or she was flat out lying to me.
“You’re his sister?” I asked as my eyebrows shot up to my hairline.
She smiled but it didn’t reach her eyes before nodding. “Yeah.”
“Adan never mentioned a sister,” I said with a shrug, trying to glean the truth from her in some way or the other. If she wasn’t his sister, then what was she doing here? And why did she have access to his office?
“He usually doesn’t. That’s why I had to come all the way from across the country to visit him,” she replied
