CHAPTER TWO

“ Why?” She asked. “ I need a wife for a business deal I want to close. Just the marriage certificate anyway”. He shrugged as if he hadn't said something as shocking as that. “Why do you think I would be your wife?” She asked. “ I know you need money to sponsor your brother's education and your mom currently needs a heart surgery. I will take care of everything aside from the monthly pay you would be getting from accepting this contract”, he stated boldly. How did he know what she needed money for? Who the hell is this man? Does he know how much her mother's heart surgery cost? “ I know you're wondering how I got to know everything about you. Well, I know quite a lot about you and I wouldn't be here if I hadn't gotten all the information about whom I'm spending the night. That's for my own benefit though ''he stated, stretching his business card towards her. She looked at his card but didn't collect it. As much as the offer seemed so enticing, she wouldn't accept such. She hadn't even dreamed of getting married in the next five years, not to talk of someone she had just met tonight He could be dangerous. “ I'm not interested in your offer sir”, she stated sternly. “You should accept the card in case you change your mind” He dropped the card in the bag she had opened to pack the rest of her stuff and walked out of the room. What a creepy man She knows Madam Tasha wouldn't give her to a dangerous man. Thank goodness he left already. She picked up her bag and hurried out of the room to go see Madam Tasha. She went downstairs and went to the bar where she saw Madam Tasha arranging the drinks into the shelves. She walked towards Madam Tasha, a pretty young woman in her early forties. She doesn't look at all like her age. She had short Bob hair dyed gold and her face was made up. The red lipstick she had applied shone brightly. One would know immediately she's the owner of the club with her dress. Her face lit up when she saw Sarah. She had always liked her from the start. She knew Sarah was only doing this job because her family was struggling, that was why she always gave her to influential men whenever they were around. “Hope you had a great night with this your client” Madam Tasha asked, smiling brightly at Sarah. She knew Sarah was always feeling down after every one of her jobs and hoped tonight would be better. “Kinda, he gave much more than i supposed to collect. I wondered why though ” She stated. She wasn't ready to admit how he made her feel so special. She had so much enjoyed the s*x. “ Wow, I knew that would happen. Jaden Robert is an influential man and last night was my first time having him in my bar, and it was a big privilege to have him here. He even gave me more than what we bargained for. I was surprised and grateful at the same time” Madam Tasha stated happily. Jaden Roberts. The name sounded so familiar. She had heard that name somewhere, but she couldn’t picture where. But the name rang a bell. “Ohh, but he said something that sounded creepy to me. He seems a little bit creepy…he” Her voice trailed off as she heard Madam Tasha's customer call her name. “We will talk later, Sarah. I need to go now” Madam Tasha said before hurrying away to attend to her customer. Sarah sighed and walked out of the bar to get a cab to take her home. She alighted from the cab in front of her house, paid the driver and walked into her compound feeling so tired. She was exhausted. “Hey beautiful Sarah” Luke, Sarah's brother said, bending to peck her on the cheeks. She grabbed a cup of water and gulped it down her throat. He knew the job she was doing and hated the fact it was for his sake and his mother. If only their father was alive, they wouldn't be in such a situation. He pities her, everytime she comes back in the morning feeling so down. She wouldn't let him at all. She had told him to focus on his education while she worked for the family. “ Hi Luke” She answered after a few minutes of resting. “How is Mum? She asked, looking around to see her traces. “She's resting as the doctor stated” Luke replied, staring at his sister pitifully. “Why are you looking at me like that?I thought we were over this discussion about me quitting my job. You should concentrate on school.” “I understand, but you should at least let me get a part-time job to assist you in raising money for mom's surgery so you can quit this job easily. I'm tired of you not listening to me”. He started looking, putting the strand of hair in his face aside. He was angry yet good-looking. Her brother is so good-looking that girls flock around him. One could mistake him for an adult even though he's seventeen. “He came today”, he added. “Who?” Sarah asked “Williams Gomez” he answered. What! Just when she thought he had forgotten them. Why would he show up again?
