Sabrina stared at the pop-up message on the phone in her hands.
No Signal
“We have to get Mar and Cassie here,” she said.
“Josh did tell us to leave our phones at home,” said James, staring out at the bay just over the cliffs, “and you girls have taken to turning them off, a la Josh’s legacy so good luck even if we could.”
“There used to be a landline in the Great Room,” said Drew. “I saw the wire plugged into the wall when I was bringing in the box of frames. No phone, though. Can’t imagine it’s live even if we found one.”
“So, let’s get a drink, adjourn to the deck and think through this as logically as we can,” said James. “And if there’s such a thing as divine intervention, Cassie and Mar will turn up here.”
