Week 3: How to Write the Beginning? / Chapter 1 Today is the day, Zayvion thought to himself. Today was the last day of school; the last day he will be with the Crystal Storm Pack; and the last day he has, to tell Teneshia how he feels about her before leaving for Alpha training. He got up early and started getting ready. He showered, wash and styled his jet-black shoulder length hair and dressed in a black t-shirt, blue ripped jeans, and white sneakers. He made his way to the dining room where his mother and several other pack members were in a heated discussion. “Well, isn’t someone dressed up today,” Luna Arya, stated as she looked over her son. “Something special going on in school today?” “One can only hope mom,” came his reply as he grabbed a quick bite, kissed his mom on the cheek and made his way out of the Packhouse. He was excited and extremely nervous at the same time; he has been working up the courage to tell her for years. However, when he hit the school ground it felt like a heavy weight was placed on his shoulders that had him rooted to the spot, but there was no time to let fear take hold of him, so with a shaky breath he made his way into the school and to Teneshia’s locker where he left a note for her. “Oh, wow, you guys won’t believe this, that little creep left me a note,” Teneshia informed her friends as she waved the note in front of them. “Do you think that freak is actually considering telling me he likes me,” she continued snickering. “That’s so lame,” Justina chimed in, shaking her head, “he should be able to tell when someone is out of his league.” “Hey, I have an idea. Why don’t you let him know just how you feel?” Camilla suggested. “You mean go meet him and tell him?” Teneshia inquired with a look of distain on her face. “No, I mean …” Camilla started before lowering her voice to make sure she is not overheard by any passerby. She told them what her idea was. “That is awesome, Nessie, we should do it,” Sharlene approved. “Yes, we should.” Teneshia agreed. “So when should we do it.” “We have a free period early in the day, why not then?” Justina recommended, with a mischievous smile on her face that was now mirrored on her companions faces. The bell rang signaling the students to go to their designated classes. After attendance was taken, the students were left to their devices since it was the last day of school. Most hung out with their friends talking about their plans for their vacation. Whereas Teneshia and her cohorts made their way to the broadcasting room they decided was the appointed spot for their plans. Once they were setup and the intercom was up and running, they began. “So, Nessie, we know how Zayvion feel about you. What I want to know is how you feel about him?” Sharlene questioned. “Well let’s see, he’s a quiet, sweet, caring, kind-hearted and respectful guy, that I care deeply for…” Teneshia said before breaking out into a fit of laughter. “Sorry, I thought I could do it without losing it. Justina how can you write this shit.” “I am impressed you got that far,” Justina snickered. “Now, why don’t you let us know how you really feel about him.” “How I really feel about him? If I were to be completely honest, I would say Zayvion is sad. He nothing but a useless object that taking up space that would suit others better. And … and he think he had a chance with me … I am way out of his league.” “So true,” Camilla concurred. “The teachers are going to stop this right?” asked Idris, as Zayvion silently sat there as if he was in a daze. “He is a puny, spoilt, snotnose brat, who followers me around like a b****y creepy stalker, and it’s just so pathetic that he does not realize he got nothing going on. Oh, wait there is one good thing I found, at least he has good handwriting, you know for a kid.” “Yes, he totally can pass as an elementary student,” Sharlene stated through her laughter. “There are elementary school kids bigger than him, probably more mature too.” “Why have not the teacher stop this already?” inquired Tristan. “Then he actually has the audacity to think he is Alpha materials. Poor Alpha Julian and Luna Arya getting stuck with such a poor excuse of a son, but at least there is something he got out of that, Alpha Julian’s eyes and Luna Arya’s jet-black hair.” “Oh, let me stop you there, I’m pretty sure he is wearing contacts and as for his hair rumor have it his hair was originally blond and when Alpha Julian and Luna Arya found him, they dyed his hair black and passed him off as theirs after their real child died.” Justina explained. “Really…?!” Camilla and Sharlene said in unison, while Teneshia mouth hung open stunned at what Justina just said. “That’s it!” Kyron quietly exclaimed sheathing with anger. Kyron marched his way to the broadcasting room, all the while wondering why any of the teachers did not stop this nonsense. Zayvion stood up in complete shock and in a dazed state made his way out of the classroom, while the remaining students in the room simply stared after him. “Well, even more reason for them to have just pick a chosen Alpha than waste their time. Kyron is far more suited for the position anyway.” Teneshia said recovering from her shock and the others agreed. Just then the door to the broadcasting room swung open. “Speaking of which Kyron what brings you …” the broadcast came to an abrupt halt as the intercom was shut off, leaving the school in complete silence. “What is your problem?! Why would you do something like this?! What possessed you?! Wait don’t answer that, I’m giving you the benefit of a doubt and I should not,” Kyron calmed himself. “First off, instead of leaving you all to drift in the wind as rogues, Alpha Julian took you and your family in, and this is how you repay him? By publicly humiliating his son and trying to make him feel inferior?” Teneshia and Sharlene looked away, “it was not like that. We would not do anything to belittle or shame Alpha Julian,” Teneshia defended. “And what about the fact that Zayvion is not even Alpha Julian or Luna Arya’s son?” Sharlene added. “On top of that, where do you get off claiming Zayvie is not Alpha Julian and Luna Arya child?” He turned to face his sister. “You know that Luna Arya had that miscarriage two years before we or Zayvie for that matter was ever even a thought and worst you know how hard Zayvie fought for his survival. Dad told us about it so we would understand how difficult it was for Alpha Julian and Luna Arya and this is what you do air their personal life in the most messed up light you possibly could.” “It was just a joke,” Justina retorted. “A joke?!” the girls all asked in unison. “A joke. It was just a joke.” “Yes, I was kidding.” “Wait so is Zayvion their son or not?” asked Sharlene. “He is,” Justina answered not making eye contact with anyone. “And you … if you were planning on shutting him down you should have done it privately like a decent person, but I guess that’s too much to expect from you because in order to have decency you have to be human.” “Whoa, Ky…” Justina words stuck in her throat at the glare that Kyron laid upon her. Then Kyron simply turned around and left. “Kyron, why did you only scold me,” Teneshia whined as she and her friends watch Kyron’s back retreat from them. “Well, at least he acknowledged you. He treated us as if we are nonexistent,” Camilla told her while Sharlene agreed. Meanwhile… I cannot breathe, Zayvion thought as he sat on the floor, in the stall of the boy’s bathroom. “Zayve, are you ok open the door,” Idris shouted from the other side of the bathroom stall door. “I cannot breathe…” Zayvion said in a weak quiet voice. “Open the door now, or I’ll break it off its hinge!” Idris continued. Zayvion unlock the door and Tristan opened the door pushing pass Idris. “I cannot breathe…” Zayvion repeated as he held on to his chest and hyperventilate. “Yes, you can,” Tristan told him as he rubbed in back. “Just take it slow and easy, now take a deep breathe; hold it; now release it,” he coached as he continued to rub his back. “That’s good. Now do it again.” They helped him to his feet, “how about w go to the cafeteria?” Idris suggested. “You can get some water and we can grab a bite while we wait for Kyron to catch up.” He texted Kyron and then they made their way to the cafeteria. “Heh, I cannot believe he actually showed his face here,” Terry stated getting up and approaching the group. “Yeah, and worse I cannot believe you two are actually still hanging around him,” said Robin, Terry’s friend. “Excuse you,” Idris stepped up to the boys, “you all better watch your mouth.” “Or what, I cannot believe you are standing there defending that fraud,” Terry shouted pointing his finger at Zayvion. “We should have known better though, there is absolutely no way that Alpha Julian and Luna Arya could bare a child like that. Alpha Julian should have just made Tristan his heir, at least he is his blood.” Idris saw red but before anyone could react Tristan fist made contact with Terry’s face. “How dare you disrespect my cous like that?” Tristan stood shaking with rage. “You know nothing about my family. He is exactly who he has always been Zayvion Arai Raven, son of Alpha Julian and Luna Arya. Do not ever forget that or question my family in such a fool way. Do you understand?” “… Yes, Tristan,” Terry replied, “I am genuinely sorry. It will not happen again.” “Anyone else have a bone to pick with my cous?” Tristan asked looking around at the other students present, who averted their eyes as his made contact with theirs. “We should leave I’m no longer hungry,” Idris informed Tristan as he led them out of the cafeteria, where they met back up with Kyron. For the rest of the morning the student either avoided the group or fell into an awkward silence once they entered the room. ===== That night, Alpha Julian and Luna Arya threw a farewell party for Zayvion and Kyron to celebrate them being of age to begin the Alpha training and give the adults a chance to give them words of advice and their good wishes. Zayvion welcomed each guest then the Raven family gave a welcome speech. Afterwards, Zayvion made himself somewhat scarce, as to avoid any run in with Teneshia and her friends. “Hey Kyron, I have not seen Zayvie since he welcomed us,” Justina mentioned casually, while both her and Kyron was talking to their parents. “Well, you know the type of kid Zayvie is,” Beta Justin answered. “This type of thing is not exactly his cup of tea. It’s one of the many qualities that makes him so dare to us.” “Yes, I know dad. If you would excuse us.” she replied while dragging Kyron away from their parents. “Okay Ky, where is Zayve?” Justina asked crossing her hand across her chest waiting for an answer. “I do not know and even if I did, why should I tell you?” Kyron countered. “Because I need to apologize to him. What I said was a cruel joke and I should not have made it.” “Ha-ha, do you know how horrific that was? Those despicable little idiots that have the gaul to call themselves pack members, was so ecstatic to pick that s**t up and roll with it than except that Zayvie was biologically Alpha Julian and Luna Arya’s son. There even were some knuckleheads among them that attacked him.” “… Oh no … I cannot believe that that happened. It was just a stupid joke; it was never meant to hurt him. It was never supposed to go this far, Nessie was only supposed to let him know she was not interested and that is it. I am so sorry. You’ve got to believe me, Ky.” Justina pleaded. “You know, it’s sad, I want to believe you, but right now I can’t even tell if you’re being sincere or not,” Kyron replied shaking his head. “Even so, as it stands right now, you or any of those girls are the last people that Zayvion wants to see. Do him a favour and keep away from him.” Kyron turned and walked away leaving Justina dejected and stunned. The next day, was even worse, their fellow schoolmates could not all be at the airport to send them off, so they sent a school representative to tag-a-long with Alpha Julian, Luna Arya, and the Beta family, in which Justina opted to not go. Unfortunately, the one chosen to be the representative was none other than Teneshia Jackson. “As a token of our best wishes for the both of you we put together and got you these tokens,” she said. “Best of luck and safe trip Ky,” she said handing him the gift and hugging him, then she turned and face Zayvion, who looked at her blankly. “Best of luck and safe trip Zayvie,” she stated repeating her earlier actions. However, before she was able to release him from the hug, he told her that only his friends call him Zayvie. Teneshia looked at him little taken aback, but Zayvion thanked her, then turned on his heel and he and Kyron made they way to the check-in then towards the gate. “I am sorry man,” Kyron started. “Think the guys chose her as the representative because they knew you like her.” “Like her? I hate her,” Zayvion retorted. “But there is one thing I learnt; I am better off alone. I do not need a mate or any female in my life. I am going to become a great Alpha for the Crystal Storm Pack and I will not have or need a Luna by my side.” I know how you feel, right now Zayvie, but there is no way in hell will I allow you to do this to yourself. Not over the likes of her, Kyron made up his mind, and there was no chance of him backing down from his decision.
