“Fia?” Poppy called her name again, worry in her eyes. “I’m fine flower.” Fia responded, calling her by her nickname to calm her. Poppy smiled and relaxed as she placed green paste where the puncture wounds bled. “How long?” Fia asked Poppy curiously. “This is your last bleed, it was a deep puncture so we’ve been at this for forty eight hours but your blood is no longer showing a purple hue so my recommendation would be to let this heal and monitor you for another twenty four hours. Fia smiled and nodded. “That is a perfect diagnosis!” She said with a kind smile before turning to the other two men. “I apologise for the inconvenience.” She started before the tall black haired man stood up and walked out the door.
Confusion plastered on her face, the beta smiled and waved him off. “He’s been a little on edge since we found you.” He said, “I’m Logan, by the way, no need for formalities!” His smile was warm and kind. “Fia,” she responded before looking at Poppy, “have you introduced yourself?” she asked curiously as the teen shook her head and blushed. Rolling her eyes, she looked back at Logan and sighed. “Apologies for my apprentice, she’s nervous around the opposite s*x. She shot Poppy a look as she turned to Logan, still blushing . “I’m Poppy, nice to meet you.” Her voice soft enough for the untrained ear to not hear but Logan places his hand out. “Logan,” he said as Poppy took it and they shook hands.
“Now that you are feeling better Fia, I was wondering if you would be up for a quick chat?” Logan asked, a knowing look in his eyes. “Sounds reasonable.” Fia said before looking at Poppy. “Flower, go take a break! I’m fine at the moment and there’s nothing you can do for the next while. Might as well take care of yourself.” Poppy nodded slowly before turning to Logan and nodding in respect before leaving the two alone. “ What can I do for you?” Fia said, her eyes showing an air of confusion.
“You can feel it... can’t you?” Logan asked, eyes filled with interest. Fia blushed and looked away. “Don’t know what you mean?” she said, her body gave away what her voice didn’t. “Does this always happen?” Logan asked curiously, “I thought once the oath was given, you became numb to the mates call.” Fia turned to him and sighed, knowing there was no point in continuing the charade. “I normally am... numb as you call it. I don’t know what this means. When we are teens and make our first turn, we are given the first two years, if we choose to find our mates. Our final stage apprentices spend these two years with fully oathed Sanators to practise their healing and are given 30 days to pick the cause or their mates call if found. I haven’t felt this way since I made my oath.” Fias eyes lowered slightly as she looked back at Logan who was taking in her words and seemed to be planning something.
“I see,“ Logan mused “that is strange,” his eyes seemed to be calculating something before standing up and giving Fia a strange look. “Well you are welcome to stay here to complete your task Fia.” He smiled as he looked at the bed next to hers. The curtain was pulled to hide her room mate but something told her that who ever it was, she would get to meet them. Nodding and smiling, she saw Poppy walk back in, her hair platted wet from just washing it and a fresh set of robes and apron on.
“I’m sure this will be fun to watch,” Logan said with a smile on his face as he turned to walk out. “Welcome to the Emerald Pack Luna Sanators! We are grateful for your assistance.”
As Logan left the room, Poppy proceeded to sit back down and monitor Fias vitals. When the door clicking s**t, the curtain next to Fia flew open to show a blonde haired girl looking to be ten or maybe a little older. She wore an O2 mask over her mouth and nose and her body was connected to a number of wires that monitored her vitals. Her grey eyes, which seemed to reflect an air of mischief, matched the Alphas making Fia wonder were they related. She took off the mask for a brief moment and smiled. “Logan’s right you know... you will definitely be of great help.... in more ways than one!”
