A very long time ago, there was a legend. It told the story of Argaron, a ruthless dragon who lived in a cave on the island of Argaron. The aforementioned cave was brimming with treasures and jewels that no man could count on. Nobody knew how or why the dragon appeared in that place.
Nonetheless, it was pretty obvious that many men and kingdoms who dreamt to be rich, gaining power and fame were piqued by this. However, none of the men who attempted to slay the dragon and try to steal its treasures survived. Argaron the dragon was known to be merciless, a creature who doesn't care about anything but themselves, slaughtering all creatures who enter their territory. The dragon wants to be in control of everything and wants to increase its power.
So if you're someone who wishes to kill the dragon of Argaron, don't be a fool and stop wishing that if you still value your life.

Skoldungen, Gruntland, 972 AD
A young man closed his book after he finished reading a thousand times again the legend of the ruthless dragon of Argaron. He leaned his head on the trunk of a thick oak tree above the hill. It was noticeable how old the book he was holding was. The cover was starting to lose its color and even the paper itself deteriorated slowly. Just like the brown cover it had already faded with age.
"Lukas!" Someone called him out of nowhere. As he raised his head, a wind blew making his blond hair that radiates under the sun's rays become disheveled a little, but he didn't mind every single bit of it. HInstead he just stood up as his crimson ruby eyes peered at whoever was calling him. He smiled genuinely when he saw who was calling his name, making the dimple on his left cheek visible. Not only that, his face was blemish-free, his high nose and perfect strong jawline. Anyone would surely get stunned at the gorgeous handsome and probably angelic face he has.
"Lukas!" He saw his childhood friend, named Andrew, climbing the hills and running as fast as he could towards him. The same youth who was the same age as him with dark chocolate hair and a bit smaller than two feet than Lukas. He stopped in front of Lukas, panting. “Lu-lukass.”
Lukas can’t help but simply laugh witnessing Andrew’s situation. “Hey! You must need to calm down first, okay?”
Inhale*
Exhale*
When he was able to catch his breath, his azure eyes peered at Lukas.
"Whooo, alright! Alright! My friend..." Andrew said as touched both of Lukas' shoulders and squeezed them mildly.
"Yes? what is it?" Lukas asked as he tilted his head.
"You!" He began shaking Lukas all of the sudden. "What is this that I hear that you will leave the town now that you're 18!! Is that real or another fake news?! " He screamed. And it almost made Lukas' ears bleed anytime soon. “I want to hear it right here, right now, my dear friend.”
"Hmm first..." When Lukas tried to speak, he was abruptly cut off by Andrew as he continued shaking him forward and back.
"What?! Come on! Don’t make me wait!" Lukas' patience finally snapped as his free left hand that wasn't holding the book met with Andrew's guts.
"First, stop shaking me! I- I can’t answer you if you keep shaking me," He snarled.
“Oh! Sorry for that. My emotions are just too high now.” Andrew took a few steps away from the surprise punch he got from Lukas. But then after a minute...
"So can you tell me about it now?" Andrew asked, calmer this time as if the previous events didn't occur. Lukas, who was still holding his head from all the dizziness he got from that shaking, sighed.
He would never get used to his childhood friend no matter what. He sat back again on the grass as he gently dropped the book he was holding at his left side. He felt that Andrew followed him and also sat on his left side. He glanced at the clear blue skies.
"You already know about this." Lukas began to speak.
"Ah. Yes, your wildest dream." Andrew said nonchalantly. "But what if the legend is false and there is nothing else there? What if everything was a lie and all your hardship was disregarded? Hey! Listen. As a friend, I don’t want you to waste your time believing in that myth. There are so many things to this in this world, my friend."
Lukas smiled and looked at Andrew’s eyes directly, "Thank you for your concern. I truly appreciate you for being there at my side but this is my choice, my freedom of choice Andrew and maybe if that happened it's alright for me. Whether it's true or not, I will see it with my own eyes." This time Lukas stood up. "You know this is my only chance to be accepted. If I do this, people will not hate me anymore for having these demonic eyes and being a son of a pirate." He smiled but his eyes held hurt and pain.
‘I felt sorry about you Lukas, not because of your looks but of how you can’t accept yourself as who you are and now you are trying to find validation from the outside world just to feel accepted and worthy?’ Andrew thought and just took a deep breath. ‘I don’t want to judge you or what since your action was understandable and when we are children you are always received hatred from others’
Andrew just sighed beside him. Since they were kids, Lucas got bullied by people because of his unusual red eyes and also due to the fact that his father was the current leader of the Vikings. But his father abandoned him here when Lukas' mother died when he was four years old due to a disease.
Even Andrew at first was also scared when he first met Lukas. But as the eldest of his ten siblings, when he observed Lukas, he was not a monster or a demon, as all the townspeople said to him. Lukas was just a simple child too, getting afraid. Cry when got hurt and most of all laughed when he was happy. After all the observation, Andrew realized that he was like a normal child. Aside from his eyes, he was just a normal human like them. Then he started to hang out and be friends with Lukas.
"What you hear is true, not false news or gossip," Lukas said as he continued to glance at the vast fields ahead. His eyes were filled with determination as he clutched the book in his hands.
Andrew sighed inwardly. There was nothing to stop his friend now looking at those determined eyes. "I see. If that is your decision I will respect that. But remember that I will be there and if you need some help I will try my best to help you as much as I can.”
“Thank you, Andrew, I’m so grateful to have you as my friend. I decided that I will leave this place tonight,” He tapped Andrew’s right shoulder.
“Tonight? Isn't that a bit early?"
"I have prepared everything, Andrew." Lukas turned to Andrew and helped him stand up too. "Tonight will be the right time and I’m ready to take a new journey for myself in which no one can stop me.”
