We stood inside the large entry way as he took off his jacket and hung it up. I stood there looking around admiring the inside of the house. I looked around and eventually my gaze fell on him again. He stood there staring at me before moving and motioning with his head for me to follow him. I followed him up the huge stair case that seemed to go on forever. Taking in all the detail of the golden banister and the forest green paint. There were so many oil paintings of people that some what resembled Issac. All of them hard the same dark shade hair and those beautiful blue piercing eyes. "Is this your family?." I asked curiously.
"something like that." he muttered. we reached the top of the stairs and I continued to follow him down the long hall way. His house reminded me very much of a museum. Everywhere I looked there were more painting and items in glass cases. The walls were painted a dark emerald green with gold trimming. I felt so out of place in this huge house. Issac turned to look at me putting a finger to his lips signaling me to be quiet. He stopped at a door at the end of the long hallway and opened it. Pushing me inside. As he was shutting the door a foot slipped in the way. "Here we go..." he sighed as the girl pushed her way into his room.
"And what's this my baby brother has dragged in?" she said looking me over. Stepping close circling me. She held a peace of my hair in her hands before letting it go. "Caught sneaking the help into your room?"
"Jesus christ, it's my lab partner from school. we have a project." he said rolling his eyes as he sat down at his desk in a rolling chair. He started to rub his forehead. Clearly annoyed with his sister.
"Well aren't you going to introduce me?" she said with a pout. I looked at her and realized she looked so much like him. same dark hair and bright blue eyes hell they could have been twins I thought to myself.
"Im Riley." I said in a small voice.
"Oh she sounds just like a little mouse! I'm Violet, but you can call me Vee." She was back in my face again examining me. she leaned in real close and sniffed. "Oh dont you smell delicious." Before she could say anything else Issac was up from his chair and shoving her out the door which he locked as soon as she was out. I stood there a little confused with the sudden aggression.
"She seems..nice." I said looking down at my feet. not really knowing what to do at that point.
"Just stay away from her." He said with a sigh as he sat back down in his chair pulling his textbook out of his bag. I just stood there Feeling a little awkward. I looked around his room. It was huge and surprisingly empty except for the large bed that looked like something out of a Victorian home. His bed was huge with a canopy and black curtains hanging open on the sides. It must be so dark at night if he ever closes those I thought to myself. I looked around more. he had a massive tv mounted on the wall and his desk but the bed. The windows were big as well and covered almost the entire wall with glass doors leading to a balcony. I looked over at Issac and found him staring at me. "Are you going to stand there all day or do you want to take a seat so we can at least go over the project?" I looked around for a place to sit awkwardly. He was sitting in the only chair in the room. A little nervously I sat on the edge of his massive bed pulling out my textbook and note pad. He let out an annoyed sigh as he began to go over the rules for the project we got in class. "I guess we were assigned how opposites attract. We need to come up with an experiment or a report on the effects of opposites attracting one another. well that's vague." He flipped through chapters in the textbook till he found one he liked. He rolled his chair closer to me and flipped my book to the same chapter.
"magnets? You want to do a report with magnets. isn't that a little too easy?" He looked up at me and I blushed. He was so close to my face. His deep blue eyes locking on mine for a second.
"Do you have any better ideas?"
"well, no.." I looked down at the book and then back up at him. He kept staring at me.
"Why is your face so red?" his voice was curious. A small smirk formed on his face. "Is something wrong?" He looked amused. My heart skipped a beat.
"N-no nothings wrong." I lied. In fact I couldn't help it. He was so beautiful with his dark looks. I was drawn to it.
"I can hear your lying" He said smoothly.
"what do you mean you can hear it?" I was confused what that meant. He looked a little surprised.
"You're heart is beating so loud it could wake the dead." He laughed.
"What would I have to lie about?" I tried to sound cool and play it off. I looked at my book in my lap so I wouldn't have to look at his eyes staring at me. I heard him chuckle a little.
"Babygirl, you are a terrible liar." He said with a laugh grabbing my wrist and pulling me damn near into his lap off the bed. He held one wrist in his hand, my other hand reseted on his chest to keep my balance. His face was so close to mine our noses were almost touching. He looked at me with a mischievous grin. I dont think my face could get any redder than what it was. I blinked fast trying to understand what was happening. He just kept that mischievous smile. I could feel his breath on my lips. After a few moments he let me go pushing me back ontop his bed where I was originally sitting. As if nothing happened he went back to looking at his book and talking about ideas. I was so confused and tried to pay attention. “Do you believe in fate?” He asked without looking up.
“I don’t know. Do you mean like our choices in life don’t matter?”
“More like two people are destined to be together even when it seems unlikely?” I looked up at him a little confused by what he meant. “I don’t know what it is about you, but I feel like your suppose to be here.”
