My Life
My life was predetermined for me to never know who I truly was. What I truly am. I was supposed to be kept hidden from that world. Safely tucked away from it all. Constantly moving around so I could be unnoticed to those who knew I was out there somewhere. Who knew what I am. The ones that needed me back into the realm in which I belonged in. I always knew I was different in some way. What I never knew was how different. The day I found out all the pieces of my life finally started to make sense. All the feelings I pushed down thinking a mindset like that was wrong. It finally made sense. My life finally started to come together that day. The day I found out the true power I held inside. The day the ones searching finally found me and released the beast within. The beast I didn’t even know existed. A beast that was lurking and guiding from the shadows of my mind. Trapped by the ones claiming to be protecting me. My name is Klara and I am the lost princess of the werewolves. I was raised to be a human with hopes my wolf would remain hidden from the world I was born to lead and save. It is time I return to the kingdom and save my people from destruction. It is time my story is told. Pulling my sweatshirt over my head my mom called from down the hall. “Klara come here for a moment I need a favor.” Finishing applying my mascara I yelled back to give me a second. When I opened my door she was there already. Her brown hair in a messy bun with paint smears all over her clothes and arms. “Klara can you run to the grocery store real quick for me? I don’t have anything for dinner and I need to finish this painting before tonight.” “Of course, have anything in mind?” Pulling my brush through my long blonde hair before sliding on my old pair of Converse. My mom was always busy painting her next ideas for her paint and sip classes. “Something quick and easy” with that she turned and walked away. Our relationship was always a strained one, close and yet not at the same time. More like a friendship rather than a mother daughter relationship. The drive to the grocery store was quick. As I got out of my Jeep I swear I could feel eyes watching me. Then again maybe there was with the way I drive and loudness of my music I wouldn’t doubt someone’s judgmental stares. I grabbed a cart and started racking my own brain for what to have for dinner when I smelt the most delicious thing. I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from but all I could smell was pine and campfire. It felt like something within me awoken putting all my senses on alert. I was strolling down the aisles trying to figure out what would be quick and easy in my mom’s terms settling on spaghetti and premade frozen meatballs when that smell hit me again. There at the other end of the aisle stood thee most attractive man I have ever laid eyes on. From afar I could tell he was tall 6’5 at least, dark brown hair slicked back with a fully grown in beard that was neatly trimmed, muscular arms that looked like they were about tear apart the fabric of his flannel. Of course my first thought was that I wanted to climb that man like a tree. A man like that how could you not want to. Lost in my own thoughts I almost didn’t notice that he too was staring right back at me. Embarrassed to be caught staring I quickly broke the eye contact and left the aisle. Rounding the corner I could’ve sworn I heard a growl. Thinking to myself I must be hearing things and trying to push all the thoughts of going to talk to him aside I made my way to frozen section. Yet I couldn’t get him out of my head. It felt like my whole body was trying to pull me towards him. Stopping in front of the frozen section I put my face in my hands and took a deep breath. Trying to focus myself on the task at hand when that smell hit again. Oddly it only added to the calm I was seeking. When I finally looked up he was there again. Staring at me with what looked like determination and interest. This time he was coming straight towards me. Frozen in place fixated on this gorgeous man now standing in front of me. He gripped the front of cart and staring down directly into my eyes. Still frozen in place. His intense stare had me both terrified and fantasizing. The way he stared made me feel like the prey of a predator, but I couldn’t help but get lost in the gaze of his ocean blue eyes. I snapped back to reality when he finally spoke with a smirk forming on his perfect lips “Why’d you walk away from me mate?” Mate? What is that supposed to mean and why does it feel like something perked up inside of me the moment he said it?
