* * * Hayden’s POV * * * The icy chill of the wind hits my cheeks again and again, until the cold begins to burn. The spray of the water doesn’t help. We are in what they call a barge. It’s a homemade version of a boat. The structure is impressive, with their limited resources; the bottom of the boat appears to be curved reinforced glass with an engine mounted at the rear. They have carved their own wood and shaped their own metal. The barge sails silently and with speed away from the facility. The valley around the facility is flooded. I think I remember it being grassland. “Blindfold the facility guy when we get closer, I want him blind before we dock,” the old man commands, I assume he is the captain and their leader. The young man nods and picks up a filthy and heavy looking scar
