Once we finish up, I jog up the stairs to our floor. I step into the suite where Jaylie had lived when she was a toddler for the first time since they moved out.There is a rack of gowns in the sitting area awaiting my mother and Jaylie’s arrival. I look around a little while I wait, walking into the bedroom that had been Jaylie’s. The walls were a light lavender with fireflies all over them. A twin-sized bed with a lavender and sage quilt on it. A cream fluffy rug is in the center of the dark wooden floor. The entire wall opposite the bed is floor to ceiling bookshelves, filled with books that have been well used.
