Chapter 7

"My clothes!" Kehinde responds with a smile.

"I don't think so oh," Tolani says now laughing.

"Really, you can check," Kehinde says with a smile meanwhile her phone beeps, She lets out a smile while retrieving her phone meanwhile Tolani who watched her closely didn't fail to notice she was using the latest iPhone 11 XS Max, She smiles while she watches her cousin operate it.

"What next?" Kehinde who was done with whatever she was doing on her phone asks.

"Let's go into the yard," Tolani says.

"Okay!"

"Kehinde right?" Tolani asks smiling, knowing she was sounding ridiculous, she already knew her cousin's name.

"Nah Jasmin," Kehinde responds.

"Jazmin?" Tolani responds pronouncing it correctly.

"Yes, I don't like been addressed as Kehinde, it reminds me about my twin brother," Kehinde says.

"Oh, I'm sorry about that," Tolani says with a sorry look.

"Oh no! Not that," Kehinde who was happy she was getting acquainted with her cousin says.

"Why don't we go into the yard?" Tolani asks while leading the way.

"Okay!" Kehinde says and follows suit.

     Ayomide who got back from the mosque a few minutes back is busy lying on his bed, He looked restless, and it seemed like he hadn't been getting much sleep, He shouldn't be on the bed by this time he thought while he looked at his wristwatch, It was already 9:30 Am, He hisses while he jumps off the bed remembering he needed to take his bath but lets his mind wander back to what he saw last night when he came back from the mosque.

He was on his way to take his bath when he bumped into her, She was n***d and immediately she saw him she ran back to the bathroom, "who was she? He thought.

He couldn't really make out her face, but knew that was the first time of seeing her in the house, "Why was she like that? Why couldn't she cover-up at least? Didn't she know she wasn't the only one living here? This thought flooded his mind.

He quickly lets out a sign when he remembered he had to be at the mosque early, cause it was Friday. "Jumat!" he quietly slips into his slippers and heads to the door.

"Rara oh!" Alhaja who had been talking to Iya fatiah says, it looked like she wasn't in support of whatever Iya Fatiah was saying.

"Alhaja ko ti ko kuro oh!" Iya fatiah says to Alhaja, who just nods her head against whatever Iya Fatiah was saying.

Iya fatiah and Alhaja, continue their arguments when Tolani walks into the yard with Kehinde following her, Iya Fatiah mouth gasp open on sighting Kehinde, while Alhaja stands unmoved, When she sees her too.

"Ekaro," Tolani greets almost kneeling down meanwhile Kehinde follows her lead.

"Ba wo ni" Alhaja asks meanwhile Iya Fatiah allows her eyes to wander over Kehinde's body, She didn't like what Kehinde was wearing.

She was putting on a bump short and a skimpy top which was so tight, and it looked like her boobs were saying hello from there. She strives to say something but someone beats her to it

"Ekaro ma!" A calm voice greets.

"Alfa," Alhaja calls out making everyone turn to his direction, meanwhile Kehinde mouth gasps open on seeing the Alpha, Their eyes lock for a moment before she looks away forcefully after recognizing him.

She suddenly felt n***d before him, Ayomide blinks his eyes twice, It seems he also recognized her with the way he behaved, She couldn't help but direct her gaze on him while he talked to Alhaja.

He wasn't really dark and was tall, not that masculine but his body was well built, She could guess he wasn't that old, he looked really young she thought when she remembered Alhaja called him an Alpha she stared at him intensely but regains her senses when he walks away.

She watches Alhaja walk away too, that was when it dawned on her she was the only one standing there,

"Where is Tolani? She wondered while  she quickly looked into the kitchen Just to see Iya fatiah doing only God knows what in there, She quickly walks away.

"Iya fatiah," Iya istinjabat calls out while she walks into the kitchen, The quickly asked her where she kept the filter, Iya fatiah tells her, She attempts to walk out after picking it but get stopped by Iya fatiah.

"Iya istinjabat!" Iya fatiah calls out.

"Ah kosi wahala?" Iya Istinjabat asks cause she knew how much Iya fatiah loved gossip.

"Ko si kon kon, But you see that girl Iya ibeji brought into this house, I don't like her oh, Can you see the way she dresses? She is worst than Tolani oh," Iya istinjabat says in her strong Yoruba accent meanwhile Iya Fatiah nods her head in agreement.

"Please tell Iya Ibegi, to caution her before she corrupts our children, Don't forget the Alfa and laadan lives here, She would just make this place uncomfortable for them by dressing indecently," Iya Fatiah says sounding funny with the way she put in her words.

"Oda!" Iya Istinjabat says.

"Issoryte!" Iya Fatiah responds.

   Kehinde smiles on seeing how startled her cousin was to see her, It was obvious she wasn't expected, She watches her cousin retrieve what she was holding and just makes her way to sit on the pavement close by.

She needed air, Soon enough Tolani joins her.

"Hey it's not what you think?" Tolani breaks the silence.

"Mmmm," Kehinde replies with a smile wondering why her cousin was explaining herself, It was just a phone not like she was caught holding a g*n.

"Actually my boyfriend bought it for me, no one should find out" Tolani says making Kehinde smile

It wasn't a big deal having a boyfriend to her but for the daughter of an Imam it was damn critical.

"Is that why you disappeared leaving me all alone in the yard?" Kehinde asks with an unreadable expression.

"Not like that na, he called" Tolani says with a serious look meanwhile Kehinde burst into laughter.

"Why so serious?" She asks her very tense cousin.

"Jasmine," Tolani calls out.

"Okay, okay!" Kehinde says while demonstrating with her hands, "What's his name?" She asked quite interested.

"Kelvin!" Tolani replies in a low tone.

"Wow, Is he a Yoruba guy?"

"Nope, and not a Muslim too." Tolani who knew the next question Kehinde was going to ask her too.

"Woah, Woah." Kehinde couldn't help but say, "Wait how did you meet this guy?" She asks.

"At a party," Tolani responds.

"Like party?" Kehinde asks sounding dumb. "Wait do you party?"

"Yeah!" Tolani responds.

"Wait, like party party," Kehinde says.

"Like there was any kind of party," Tolani responds with a smile knowing her cousin was surprised, You can't blame her for that.

"Wait, do they Know?" Kehinde asks referring to the people are home.

" Let's says I have been caught more than once," Tolani says. "They don't just want to understand, Am eighteen for crying out loud and an adults".

"Like am tired of been caged, I want to become an independent woman who doesn't have to look up to a man for every damn thing, I want to make a change, I want to be different from my sisters, Don't want to be like them,"

It was obvious she was hurt, Kehinde just takes a quick glance and looks into the space but is brought back by her cousin's sudden outburst.

"Was she crying? wait was she really crying? No no" she had always viewed Tolani as this tough girl cause of her behavior and responds to certain things, Was the girl really crying she thought, Everyone, has a soft spot she concluded.
