"Babe please wait," Tosin says while running after her best friend. Kehinde, quickly takes a sit in the richly furnished sitting room, with the aim of avoiding her best friend. Just with the interior decorations. You could tell The Adebayo's were Rich and Influential people. The sitting room was richly painted with white. Every other thing in it was white ranging from the couch, Table, speakers, You can name it. "Kehinde we aren't done talking yet," Tosin Says. "Tosin!" Kehinde yells. "Fine Jazmin!" Tosin responds. "Better," "Jaz what's all this?" Tosin asks. " Overslept and you are responsible, You were the one who took me to the party, Remember?" Kehinde asks. "Jaz I just wanted you to cool off, You have been moody lately don't just blame me, what's wrong with you? Was that why you didn't go for the exams? Jazmin, you missed jamb on purpose for crying out loud," Tosin says. "Tosin please!" Kehinde blurts out. "Jaz, what are you doing to yourself? Get off that shell for crying out loud, stop doing this." "Look, Tosin a year ago I was expelled from the Uni, not like it was totally my fault, That bastard r***d me." Kehinde says in a sobber mood. " Jaz, you took the law into your hands, You nearly killed him and that doesn't warrant this behavior," Tosin frowns. "Wait wait wait," Kehinde panics. "You wanted me to let him go scot-free after that and are you for real?" Kehinde asks with an unbelievable look. "He would have gotten arrested." "f**k! Tosin I had no prove, who would have believed me? His dad is a lot more influential than mine, For sure he would have gotten away with it, I don't regret whatever I did to him one bit." "What!" Tosin exclaims. " Funny enough, my dad didn't even hear my side of the story and jumped into conclusion," Kehinde says like she was going to cry. "Jaz!" Tosin calls out patting her friend on her leg, She lets out a weak smile on seeing how strong her friend was, knowing she couldn't handle it if she was in her place, Losing her twin brother five years back, Been starved of her parents love and attention, Getting r***d by a guy who took her virginity right there. She knew her friend was really messed up, but she knew the decision her friend took this time wasn't right. "Jaz!" She calls out in a low tone. "Tosin," Kehinde says and burst into tears. "Jaz!" Tosin calls out. "Please don't say anything else," Kehinde says, meanwhile Tosin nods and keeps quiet. They both sit together without uttering a word, but the mood gets ruined when Mrs charity walks in. "Jasmin, Adamu said you didn't leave with him," Mrs charity complains while she walks in with few bags meanwhile two of the maids come in and takes them from her, while she is left staring at Kehinde. "Nanny!" Kehinde manages to say. "Jasmin what have u done? your parents would kill me for sure," Mrs. Charity says in fear meanwhile Kehinde stares at her expressionlessly. ★ ★ ★ ★ On hearing the call for prayer Ayomide jumps up, he was obviously tired, he hadn't been able to have a proper rest for some days. It's not been long he got posted to the area, and he was already tired of the people he was staying with. "How can an imam family be this un-united? He asks himself. The family was nothing to write home about, "From one problem to another." he hisses when he remembers it was time for solat, he quickly picks up his keys and storms out of his room. ★ ★ ★ ★ " Shey jeje oh," Iya Ibeji says to her daughter, who she had secretly called into her room to caution. "Mum!" Tolani calls out. "Mum what? Why are you calling me? Tolani you want to bring shame and disgrace to this family, What is your problem? Cant, you see your sisters? must you and your twin brother always bring shame to me?" Iya ibeji asks. " Mum, it was my friends birthday party," Tolani says defensively. "Tolani, this is not the first neither is it the second time you are sleeping out of this house!" " Mummy!" "Tolani, don't forget you and your twin brother Tobi are the only ones I have, Why do you keep on making me the laughing stock of my mates, Can't you see your step sister Istinjabat?" Iya ibeji asks almost in tears. " Ahan mummy, Please stop it na, " Tolani says touched by what her mum said. "You know Iya istinjabat hates me and you keep giving her reasons to insult me," Iya ibeji says. "Mum!" Tolani calls out. " Cause I am the only one who gave birth to a male child, They have decided to g**g up against me," Iya Ibeji says. "Mum please," "But you are making them, You and your brother, Where is Tobi?" Iya Ibeji asks. " I don't know, Haven't seen him since morning," "You see what I am talking about?" Iya ibeji asks looking grim. ★ ★ ★ ★ Kehinde is busy with a novel when she hears a slight knock on her door, been fully aware of who it was she hisses a bit. "Nanny you don't have to do that," she says meanwhile she watches Mrs. Charity walk in. The only mother figure she had, Mrs.Charity, who had been living with them for like ever, She was a widow whose husband died two years after there wedding, She had no child for him hence her husband's people didn't waste time in kicking her out, They were Ibos. In spite of that she still insisted, she should be called Mrs. Charity, for a reason best known to her, Despite her husband been late, She was the only one who took care of Kehinde and her twin brother Taye right from when they were kids, Mrs. Adebayo has always been a working-class lady but the little time she had, She spent with her kids, Then Mrs charity was their nanny, She took care of them when Mrs. Adebayo was off to work and Whenever Mrs. Adebayo came back she took over the responsibility, Well that was then not until Taye died and every other person in the Adebayo's family died with him, There has been no single day of happiness in his family since his death, Its been five years. Everyone has just been busy trying to hide their grief by burying themselves with work, Mrs charity has been the only mother figure Kehinde has had for the past five years, She has been there every step of the way. Always there to comfort the poor girl who has been more like a daughter to her, Someone she sees like the child she never had, Taye's death also affected her, cause she had been taking care of him since he was a child, But like they say "God knows why everything happens, it all happens for a reason" "Jazmin!" Mrs charity calls out while she joins Kehinde on the bed. "Nanny!" Kehinde responds dropping her book on the bed. "Whatever you did today wasn't right," "Nanny I can handle this!" "Your parents won't be happy Jaz!" "Like they care?" " They do Jaz!" "They don't!" "Jazmin they are still In grief, He was their son anyway," Mrs. Charity shrugs. "Am I not their daughter? He was my brother, I loved him more than life itself, His death affected me and it still does, Nanny I miss him but can't they see me? Don't they know I need their love? They both shut me out like I don't exist, They both abandoned me." Kehinde says almost yelling in tears. "Kehinde!" Mrs charity calls out by mistake meanwhile Kehinde glares at her. She knew how much the girl hated been called by that name, It reminded her of Taye. "Jaz, how would you handle your parents, they would be so furious," Mrs. Charity asks now patting her back. " I would handle them my own way, Nanny I would be sleeping over at my friends place, "Kehinde changes the topic. "Jasmin late-night party," Mrs. Charity who had noticed Kehinde frequent night party complains. " Nanny please, I need to relax my mind."Kehinde pleads with a pout. "Your dad is coming back tomorrow," Mrs. Charity says meanwhile Kehinde becomes emotional. "You mean my dad would be back tomorrow?" She asks cause she couldn't remember the last time she saw her own father it was such a pity " Yes dear, so whatever you are doing make sure you come home on time." Mrs. Charity says patting Kehinde on the back.
