This is actually my first story on Dreme

I'm gonna be taking us on a rollercoaster ride

Chapter 1

She groans after hearing the loud knock on the door and hisses while she drags herself lazily from the bed over to the door.

"Good morning," She greets Mrs charity her nanny.

"Kehinde you got an exam to write and you are still on the bed," Mrs. Charity says unexpectedly walking into her room and hisses while she opens the window.

"Like I care?" Kehinde asks in a low tone, not sure Mrs charity heard her.

" Kehinde!" Mrs charity calls out.

"Nanny, please just call me Jazmin and leave that name Kehinde alone," She says thinking of how much sadness the name Kehinde caused.

"Am sorry dear," Mrs. Charity responds been fully aware Kehinde was in a bad mood.

"What about my mum?" Kehinde asks trying to change the topic.

" She left very early this morning saying I should make sure you got ready very early for your exams today."Mrs charity responds with a gentle smile.

"Like she ever cares," Kehinde mutters, this time around Mrs charity doesn't hear her.

"Sweetheart get ready and come downstairs, You can't be late," Mrs. Charity says on her way out of the door.

As soon as she walks out, Kehinde lets out a sigh of relief, She sits on her bed staring into the space.

She couldn't help but let the tears which had been threatening to pour drop. She remembers how happy her family was, not until death took away her twin brother and only sibling Taye. They were such a happy family, until the tragic incident.

"Its been five solid years!" She cries out. "Taye why did you have to leave me? Your death has torn this family apart." she sobs remembering that her mum and Dad were never in the same place at the same time and if they were, It was either fighting, or accusing each other.

Taye's death just meant the death of the family.

Her mum and dad never took notice of her, ever since not until the day she got expelled from a private university last year. Her dad only came home to scold her, he didn't even wait to hear her side of the story, He concluded  she was going to pick jamb form this year, which she reluctantly did. Kehinde, hisses when she remembers her jamb was today. She was posted to somewhere nearby, so it wasn't a big deal.

" 8:30!" She hisses while she checked the time. She overslept, why won't she be late? She thought.

When she went partying all night with her friend, forgetting she was supposed to write jamb today or she still had it in mind, but has already made her own decision.

A decision, that was going to shock her parents.

The room Isn't richly furnished, It just has a bed which isn't big enough, a small table, a chair and a praying mat. The room is painted with blue.

It isn't of high taste but it looks presentable for an alfa.

Ayomide is sitting on his bed going through the Holy Qu'ran, He frowns after hearing the noise which was obviously coming from the yard, he lazily drops the holy Qu'ran on his bed, and makes to the door. He couldn't help but get angry.

"Why must she continue doing the same thing over again even when she is been corrected" He mutters to himself now sighting Alhaja reprimanding Tolani.

"Ni bo lon lo?" Alhaja asks.

"Good morning, "Tolani, says completely ignoring the question her grandmother had asked her.

" Gbenu Soen!" Alhaja shouts, making everyone in the yard come out one after the other.

"Tolani Ni bo lon lo?" Iya ibeji asks her daughter.

"Mum!" Tolani calls out.

"Iya Ibeji, you have spoilt this girl, She would soon bring shame and disgrace to this family," Iya istinjabat says in a very thick Yoruba accent.

"Tolani, Ni bo lon lo?" Iya ibeji asks for the second time meanwhile Tolani stares at them expressionlessly.

" Imam must here this," Iya fatiah says.

"Beni!" Iya Aliya says in support of what her co-wive said.

"Rara ma," Ayomide says for the first time making everyone turn to his direction, Tolani where did you spend the night?" He asks Tolani who gives him a deadly glare.

"Tolani are you stupid? Why are you looking at the alfa like that, is he your mate?" Aunty Temidara asks.

" Just leave it, "Ayomide says, with a gentle smile making Aunty Temidara give up.

"Tolani, your father is an Imam, He is a society figure and people look up to him. He has a high reputation, what would people say when they find out his own daughter who isn't more than eighteen sleeps out of home, Tell me?" Ayomide says.

" Tolani, shey je je oh" Alhaja says in rage.

"Alhaja pele, Please forgive and allow her to go in," Ayomide says, while he turns to Tolani who just eyes him and looks away.

"Tolani, thanks your stars and the alfa, if not you would have been dealt with today, lack of motherly training," Iya Istinjabat releases a mock smile before eyeing Iya Ibeji who just nods her head.
