Chapter 19

     The look Aisha gave Fatiah was so intense coupled with the look Fatiah was giving Ayomide, it could be seen on there faces that they were shocked and never in their wildest dreams could imagine such. Kehinde takes a deep breath before turning to Ayomide whose facial expression was blank and held no emotion.

     Kehinde eyes had been on Fatiah ever since they woke up which Fatiah didn't fail to notice cause they made eye contact on different occasions. Kehinde couldn't get enough sleep last night. Was she scared of been caught? Yes, but she knew having such a relationship with Ayomide was going to cause this and it hasn't even started yet and she was already shaking like a leaf. Still in thought, she watches Aisha walk pass her without failing to notice the mischievous glint she had in those eyes, Kehinde's gaze follows her till she gets to Fatiah and says something which makes fatiah glare.

"Oh God! What have I done?" Kehinde mutters as she gets startled by Tolani who stood there with her gaze focused on her.

"Where did your mind travel to? Damn I have been calling your name," Tolani says. Meanwhile, Kehinde adjust so she could join her. "Jasmine what's wrong?" Tolani who noticed her cousin's behavior asks.

"Emm, it's nothing," Kehinde stutters.

"Hey, I know there is something," Tolani says observing her closely.

"Emm," Kehinde hesitates.

"You can trust me, you know you can don't you? Or do you want to keep it away from me? It's fine," Tolani says with a genuine smile.

"No, it's not like that, " Kehinde hesitates. "Fatiahcaughtmekissingsomeone," Kehinde rushes her words obviously stunning Tolani.

"Stop, looking at me like that," Kehinde says quite uncomfortable.

"And so?" Tolani asks.

"And so? Is that all you have to say," Kehinde asks with a look of disbelief.

"Leave that one," Tolani says feeling relaxed.

"I should leave that one, it's when she reports to your mum our eyes will clear," Kehinde says. Meanwhile Tolani gives her a small smile.

"Wait, Is that why you have been so gloomy all day?" Tolani asks.

"Tolani that girl hates me," Kehinde blurts out.

"Do you know how many times I have caught her making out with guys?" Tolani asks in a carefree manner. "I wouldn't even be surprised if I found out there was something between her and that Alfa." Tolani frowns.

"Which Alfa?" Kehinde asks quite interested.

"Which Alfa do you know if not the one in the yard?" Tolani asks in a carefree manner.

"You mean Ayomide?" Kehinde asks.

"It's obvious she likes him, you are the only one who hasn't noticed how she throws herself on him forgetting he is an Alfa. Besides I don't trust that guy he is too handsome to be holy," Tolani says in are carefree manner. Meanwhile Kehinde who seemed to be affected by what her cousin said just stared into space.

"I have never liked him, I feel like he is pretending, handsome guys like him are supposed to be players besides the guy is too young, gosh!" Tolani exclaims.

"Oh," That was the only thing Kehinde could mutter.

"Don't underestimate these girls oh, Even Istinjabat isn't as holy as she seems. Leave that her long skirt that sweeps the ground and her gentle nature, if I open her chapter here, sha leave that for another day," Tolani says while getting up from the bed. Meanwhile Kehinde couldn't help but stare into the space.

  Ayomide who was busy going through a book suddenly drops it when he hears the knock on his door. He sits up and directs his gaze towards the door.

"Come in, it's open," he says seeing the door wasn't bolted.

   Fatiah walks in gracefully. She let's out a smile when their eyes meet, Ayomide quickly adjusts himself meanwhile Fatiah takes off her Hijab revealing her neatly plated shuku.

"Fatiah put that back," Ayomide orders meanwhile Fatiah just lets a small smile form between her lips.

"Fatiah," Ayomide calls out.

"But that your slutty s*x mate doesn't put on a Hijab," Fatiah says referring to Kehinde.

"Don't call her that," Ayomide frowns.

"Ah, later you will Claim holy guy, what does that girl have that I don't, or is it because she is fair and also from a rich family? Never knew you were also a gold digger," Fatiah says shamelessly.

"Fatiah please go away, I have made it clear we can't have anything to do with each other," Ayomide says in a calm manner.

"But you could go around with that s**t roughly eating each other's faces?" Fatiah asks with disgust.

"Fatiah!" Ayomide calls out.

"I thought you were better than this, choosing that small girl over me, come off that," Fatiah says now caressing his face meanwhile Kehinde slowly pushes him off her.

"Ayomide, wait you are pushing me off because of that lousy girl?" Fatiah says now taking down one hand of her blouse slowly clearly revealing her chest shocking Ayomide.

"Do you like what you are seeing?" She asks after she has shamelessly pulled her blouse a little.

"Fatiah what Is this? Why are you behaving shamelessly?" Ayomide asks trying to get his eyes off her bare boobs, Making Fatiah smile.

"You see, I know you like what you see, its all yours," Fatiah says now touching him, he pushes her gets up.

"Fatiah please go away,"

"No!"

"Fatiah for the sake of God,"

"No!"

"What is this na?"

"I'm not going anywhere,"

"Fine suite yourself," Ayomide says now storming out of the room, clearly shocking Fatiah.

   Kehinde who had been smiling all by herself is currently sitting at the backyard on the pavement which was the usual spot, it was kind of secluded, people hardly came to that part of the building, that was what she loved about the spot. She was currently enjoying the quietness of the compound. It was a Wednesday morning and almost everyone was out of the house especially Alhaja and the wives of the Imam. The little kids had long gone to school, the house was unnecessary quiet. Still smiling someone taps her gently. Been aware who it was she smiles the more.

"Can I join you?" Ayomide asks still standing.

"If you like to continue standing," She says making him join her.

"Silly girl," Ayomide says while joining her. "What are you doing here sitting alone?" He asks.

"You know this is my regular spot, I should be asking you," Kehinde says glancing at him.

"Knew I will find you here_" He says clearly remembering the main reason he left his room.

"You guessed right," She responds with a smile wondering why she couldn't stop smiling.

"So let's talk about you," Ayomide says trying to lighten up the atmosphere.

"So,"

"Your family," He says and doesn't fail to notice the look of disapproval.

"Hey!" he calls out

"It's nothing really, my twin brother is dead, funny he was my only family, The day he died my family died alongside him," Kehinde says trying to hide how hurt she felt.

"him!" He calls out while Pating her.

"Its nothing Really,"

"What about your parents?" He asks.

"They selfishly dumped me here cause they are getting a divorce," Kehinde says making Ayomide mouth gasps open and close.

"Seriously?"

"Yes and partly because I refused to write jamb,"

"Why?" Ayomide asks quite interested.

"Just not ready, what about you?" Kehinde asks trying her best to change the topic.

"I'm from a typical Muslim home, my parents started grooming me from childhood to become an Alfa, that has always been their dream," Ayomide says now playing with his hands.

"Seriously?"

"That's what I think tho," He says with a funny expression.

"What about your siblings?"

"My siblings," He pauses and takes a deep breath.

"Three of my brothers were converted to Christianity by there wives, I'm the only one in my family practicing Islam, my dad married just my mum, I know it sounds weird," He says now looking at her. I'm practically the last child" He says.

"No sister?"

"No." He replies with a smile.

"Is that why your parents wanted you to become an Alfa so badly?"

"Not really, don't think they saw that coming," Ayomide says while taking Kehinde by her hand and makes her stand while she silently wonders what he was up to. He places her on his laps.

"Ayo, this is risky. Someone might see us," She says to Ayomide who looked carefree.

"No one is coming this way," Ayomide says quite assured, Meanwhile Kehinde Panics for something before finally giving in. He places his lips on hers for something before removing it.

"I missed this, I missed this," He mutters meanwhile Kehinde shiver while they stare into each other's eyes for something before coming back to reality because of the noise the heard.

Low and behold Tobi stood not too far away from them with his eyes bulged.

"Not again," Kehinde mutters turning to Ayomide who seemed relaxed.

"I missed my period," she says with fear evident in her eyes

"He hasn't been seen close to the mosque or home, Tobi said he saw him leaving in haste with a small bag" she says.
