The city centre was just as Lee remembered it. Quiet, deserted, but humming with hidden menace. By unspoken agreement, they kept away from the crashed plane, from the Rotunda where someone had shot at them, and from the department store where they had been chased by raptors. After living in the safety of the commune, if only for a few days even, it felt strange to be back in the city centre.
